Operation
1. The device can be used outdoors
with the assembled stand foot, or in-
doors as a table BBQ with the stand
foot disassembled.
2. Set the temperature controller (7) to
the desired level. The temperature
controller can be set within the range
from 0 (device off) to 5 (maximum
temperature). The indicator light
(8) lights up as long as the device
is heating up. As soon as the set
temperature is reached, the indicator
light goes out. The indicator light
switches on and off during operation
and in this way indicates that the set
temperature is being maintained.
3. The drip pan (9) can, for ease of
cleaning, be lined with aluminium foil,
or the base of it can be covered with
water. The drip pan catches run-off
fat and cooking juices. Never operate
the BBQ without the drip pan.
4. The handles (10) of the BBQ are
heatresistant. Nevertheless, since the
BBQ becomes hot, it is recommended
that heat-resistant kitchen gloves or
pot cloths be used while barbecuing.
(Glove Category II with regard to heat
protection, e.g. DIN-EN 407)
5. To place food on the BBQ, use long-
handled utensils made from wood or
heat-resistant plastic. Metal utensils
can damage the non-stick coating of
the BBQ plate.
6. During barbecuing, place the hood
(4) on the BBQ plate. Since the hood
becomes very hot during barbecuing,
it must always be held by the hood
handle (1) when being put in place or
removed.
7. Turn the BBQ meat from time to time
and thus prevent it from becoming
too dark.
8. The discharge of steam can be
controlled with the adjustable steam
outlet (2). To adjust the steam outlet,
turn the hood handle.
9. As soon as the food is cooked, turn
the temperature controller to 0 and
pull the mains plug out of the socket.
10. Remove the hood and then the BBQ
meat with a heat-resistant utensil
suitable for non-stick appliances.
11. Let the device cool down for approx.
20 minutes before moving it.
Barbecuing tips
Always turn the BBQ meat using a pair of
tongs or a spatula and never with a fork or
other tools that have sharp corners or tips.
These will damage the non-stick coating
of the BBQ plate.
Switch off the device after use with the
temperature controller and pull the mains
plug out of the socket. Let the device cool
down completely before transporting or
cleaning it.
Meat becomes tenderer if it is marinated
overnight. Marinade is made with oil, to
introduce moisture, vinegar, to make the
meat tender, and a mixture of spices.
Turn fish or meat only once. Turning
multiple times is unnecessary and dries
out the BBQ meat.
Never cook meat for too long; even pork
is better if it is served while it’s still pink
and juicy.
In order to cook the BBQ meat until it’s
tender and juicy, the steam outlet on the
hood should initially remain closed.
