Sicherheit im öffentlichen Netz: Firewall.

Jedes Netzwerk, ob es kabelgebunden oder über Funk realisiert ist, kann

durch technische Mittel abgehört werden.

Durch den Anschluss Ihres lokalen Netzwerks (z. B. Ihre PCs, die über einen

Switch/Hub mit Ihrem Speedport W 303V verbunden sind) an das öffentliche

Netzwerk (Internet) entstehen nicht unerhebliche Gefahren für die Sicherheit

Ihrer Daten und Anwendungen. Grundsätzlich sollten Sie, wie beim Einzelan-

schluss, Ihre PCs durch Virenscanner gegen heimtückische, versteckte Angrif-

fe von außen, z. B. über E-Mail, schützen.

Virenscanner schützen jedoch nicht gegen unberechtigten Zugriff von außen

(Hacker). Um dieser Gefahr entgegenzutreten, hat Ihr Speedport W 303V

einen fest eingebauten Schutz: die Firewall-Funktion.

Sie bietet folgende Elemente:

 Schutz gegen Angriffe von Hackern, welche die Leistungskapazität Ihres

PCs für eigene Zwecke nutzen möchten.

 Router-Zugangsversuche, die an der Firewall stattfinden (Real-time log-

ging). Sie können dieses Logbuch (Status > Details > Systemmeldungen)

auswerten und werden dadurch in die Lage versetzt, Ihre Schutzmaßnah-

men weiterhin zu verbessern.

Wir empfehlen, dass Sie zusätzlich zur Firewall des Speedport W 303V in

Ihrem LAN/WLAN die dort möglichen Schutzmaßnahmen aktivieren.

Tipp: Installieren bzw. aktivieren Sie zusätzlich eine Firewall auf Ihrem

PC, die ungewollte Zugriffe von Software auf Ihrem PC auf das

Internet verhindern kann.
