Do
•Read the instructions in this leaflet carefully and keep them within reach. Any commercial use, inap-
propriate use or failure to comply with the instructions, the manufacturer accepts no responsibility
and the guarantee will not apply.
•If an accident occurs, rinse the burn immediately with cold water and call a doctor if necessary..
•On first use, wash the plates (follow paragraph cleaning), pour a little cooking oil onto the plates
and wipe with a soft cloth.
•Position the power cord carefully, whether an extension is used or not, so that guests can move
freely around the table without tripping over it.
•To prevent damage to the plates, only use them on the appliance for which they were designed
(e.g., do not place in an oven, on the gas ring or electric hot-plate, etc.).
• Always use a wooden or plastic spatula to avoid damaging the cooking plate.
• Check that the appliance is unplugged before cleaning.
• Clean the plates and appliance with a sponge, hot water and washing-up liquid.
• Cooking fumes may be dangerous for animals which have a particularly sensitive respiratory system,
such as birds. We advise bird owners to keep them away from the cooking area.
•Only use the plates provided with the appliance or bought from an Approved service Centre.
• If the appliance is used in the centre of the table, keep it out of the reach of children.
Do not
•Never leave the appliance plugged in when not in use.
•To prevent the appliance from overheating, do not place it in a corner or against a wall.
•Never place the appliance directly on a fragile surface (glass table, tablecloth, varnished furniture,
etc.) or on a soft surface such as a tea-towel.
•Never place the appliance on or near hot or slippery surfaces; never leave the cord hanging over a
heat source (hotplates, gas stove, etc.).
•Do not place cooking utensils on the cooking surfaces of the appliance.
•Never cut food directly on the plates.
•Do not use metal scourers or scouring powders to avoid damaging the cooking surface.
•The appliance and its power supply cord must not be put in the dishwasher.
•Never immerse the appliance and cord in water.
•Do not heat the appliance in vertical position.
•Do not plug in the appliance without positioning the plates correctly.
