Before cooking
If the pressure indicator does not rise, and no steam is
coming from the steam outlet during cooking:
■ This is usual during the first few minutes.
■ If this persists, check that:
The heat setting is high enough. If not, turn it up.
The quantity of liquid in the pan is sufficient, see page 8.
The pressure selector is in position 1 or 2.
The X'press Cooker is closed properly.
The gasket and the rim of the X'press Cooker are not damaged.
If the pressure indicator rises, and no steam is coming
from the steam outlet during cooking:
■ Let the steam escape by setting the pressure selector to .
■ Clean the pressure valve and the steam outlet.
■ Every time you use the X'press Cooker, check first that the control
panel is properly fixed (fixing screw fully tightened).
■ Every time you use the X'press Cooker, check first that safety and
pressure devices inside the lid are mobile.
■ Check that the gasket is properly in place.
■ Close the lid.
■ Set the pressure selector to the desired position (depending on the
recipe).
■ Place the X'press Cooker on a source of heat at a high setting.
As soon as the pressure indicator rises, you will no longer be
able to open the X'press Cooker (never try to force it open).
■ When steam escapes continuously, with a regular hissing sound,
cooking has begun. Turn down the heat.
