Sygic GPS Navigation and Maps software is a complete navigation system with realistic 3D maps,
accurate search and precise route computing. Sygic GPS Navigation and Maps goes beyond professional
car navigation, supporting pedestrian navigation and basic level for outdoor activities.
We wish you a pleasant and safe journey.

Compatibility & Requirements
GPS Navigation & Maps Sygic application is compatible with all Android smartphones/tablets with built in
GPS module and Android OS 4.0.4 or higher.
If you are using older Android OS than 4.0.4, the previous version of GPS Navigation & Maps Sygic will
be avalilable to download and install from Google Play Store instead.
150 megabytes of free space in your internal memory is required in order to install the application and
resource files. However you can move the maps onto your SD card, for more information on this topic
please visit this article from our FAQ website.

Getting started
Sygic GPS Navigation and Maps is offline navigation software and does not require internet connection
to operate.
Internet connection is only necessary during initial installation and activation of the software and for
installing maps and updates. It is also necessary for optional add-on services such as Live Services and
crowd-sourced Police trap alerts.
Your safety and the safety of your passengers is of utmost importance, that is why you should always plan
your route before the beginning of the journey. Also make sure that you have installed all maps and
updates while in the comfort of your home or at a place with a solid Wi-Fi connection. For longer trips make
sure that you have a compatible charger to avoid draining the device battery.
Please note: Your device needs to support Google Play Store in order to install the application. Custom
ROM is also not supported as we cannot guarantee compatibility with other than stock ROM from the
manufacturer. 150 megabytes of free space in your internal memory is required in order to install the
application and resource files.
In Navigation Mode (Pic.1), the software tracks your position for visual reference of the route and map
around you. (Please note that it is necessary to have GPS Module enabled on your device during usage).If
you want to explore other locations, drag the map with your fingers to switch to Map Browsing Mode
(Pic.2).
To select destinations such as Home and Work, review Travel book, to launch premium features Dashcam
or HUD (Head Up Display) and alter settings, go to Menu (Pic.3).

Sign in
Creating a Sygic account is free of charge. If you purchase any item from Sygic E-shop, the email address
used for making a purchase becomes your Sygic account.
You can log in to Sygic GPS Navigation and Maps with multiple types of accounts:
• Sygic (recommended)
• Facebook
• Google
To do so, please go to Menu > Sign in.
After a successful login you will be able to use additional features via Sygic Store, such as Live Services,
Head Up Display, Celebrity voices etc.

Settings
If you want to personalise your settings, just go to Menu > Settings, and pick which setting you would like
to modify.

Please note, that you can easily use Sygic GPS Navigation and Maps without changing anything in Sygic
settings.
Map
You can easily personalize your map settings in Map section by going to Menu > Settings > Map, and pick
which setting you would like to modify:

You are able to download more or remove your existing purchased maps in Manage maps menu

Choose which categories of POI you wish to see on the map. POIs are visible in Map browsing mode and
limited in Navigation mode.

Colour Scheme – switch between Day and Night schemes or let it change Automatically by system based
on actual time zone you are in
Lane Guidance – switch on/off to enable a dynamic window showing which lane to take at a junction
Junction view – switch on/off to enable showing the full screen image of the entire junction from your
perspective with the highlighted lanes to take.
Secondary instruction mode – switch between Normal, Early or Always to show the secondary instruction
Traffic Incidents – contains switchable features Show Traffic Info on Map and Avoid Automatically while
calculating your routes
Show Rotation Lock – switchable feature showing the button on the main screen to enable/disable
changing a view when the device is rotated.

Set up your first route
Dear customer,
this category contains information about how to set and modify routes and all other routing possibilities.
Searching and Entering a Destination
This chapter includes information about “Search / Navigate to” option (to Address, POI, Home, Favourite
places etc.)
Please, to choose your topic, click on particular menu item of list on the left side of this article.
Search / Navigate to
You can look for any Address, POI, History or Favorite.
Just tap on the Search bar and type the name of the City, Street, POI, Contact, History, or Favorite into the
search field.

Navigating to an address
To set your destination by entering its address tap on:

Afterwards you can proceed to Select Country or City or Postal Code or Select Street directly.
Enter the first few letters of the City/Street name to see a list of suggestions.
Once you select street name, you will be able to select House number.
Tap Red pin signed line for place to go and Green circle signed line to set the starting point for the route.
To set chosen location as your destination, tap NAVIGATE (picture 1)

Navigating to a Point of Interest
In addition to the road network, the map also contains the details of thousands of Points of Interest (POIs)
such as gas stations, restaurants, hotels, tourist attractions and other facilities.
To set a POI as your destination, you have multiple options:
• Tap on the Search bar and you will see the POI categories icons.
• Tap on the Search bar and type in the Country, City and Street to specify the POI address and then
tap on Show nearby POIs.

• Tap anywhere on the map to select the Location info. Then choose Explore nearby to select a
nearby POI.

You can switch between:

Navigating Home / Work
To start using this feature, you need to set a Home location (the same in case of Work location)
To save a location as Home or Work you can ether search for an address or find the place on the map to
show its Location info, where you will be able to tap the menu button on the top right corner of the screen
and then Set as Home or Work. This will save the place as Home/Work.
Once your home address is stored, you can navigate home or to work by choosing Home or Work icon
located in Dashboard part of menu

Favorites / History / Contacts
Sygic keeps tracking your recent destinations, making it easy to return to a place that you have been
navigated to before.
Tap the Flag icon next to the Search bar to show Favorites and Favorite routes / History / Contacts. Tap the
desired one to enter it as your destination.
When you tap on the Search bar, the last 2 recent destinations will be available to select.

CHOOSING YOUR ROUTE
Once you select a destination, tap the Get direction and then Start to start route calculation.
If your device can determine your current position, your route will be calculated immediately from that
position.
If your current position cannot be determined, please see chapter Acquiring GPS position.
When route calculation is complete, the entire route is displayed on map.
If there are several route alternatives possible the software will offer up to three routes to choose from.
You can switch between routes by tapping on the route label near the route to select it.
Selected route will be highlighted. Select your route and tap Navigate to start navigation.

Each time a route is calculated, you can either choose to start navigation or tap on options to access the
Route Overview for detailed information about your route and route editing options.

Avoid Motorways, Toll roads, Ferries…
If there are any Motorways, Toll roads, Ferries or Unpaved roads along the route, you can avoid them by
default via Sygic menu > Settings > Route planning or via Route Options menu in Route overview. If your
route takes you through several countries you can avoid Motorways, Toll roads, Ferries, Unpaved roads
for each country separately.

Quick menu
Whenever when you are in the navigation mode, you can tap on the screen to show the Quick menu.
Cancel route
Cancels the calculated route entirely, so you can use the navigation system only as an indicator of your
current position or you can create a new route.
Mute/Unmute voice
Silences/enables all sounds or instructions by voice commands.
Switch to walking
immediately changes to walking navigation mode
Near me
shows Nearby POI categories

Adding waypoints to your route
To travel through a certain place on your trip you can add waypoints by:
1. Selecting a location on the map and use option Travel via or Pass by in Action Menu.
2. Tapping on Search bar and typing the address of the point. Confirm the address by pressing Enter key
and then tap the top right icon.
You can also specify the waypoint(s) when you are selecting the destination. Just tap on the blue drop down
arrow and then the + icon to add a waypoint search bar. You can add more waypoints at once this way.
Sygic always sorts the waypoints in order for the route to be as optimized as possible.

Drag & Drop route editing
In Map Browsing mode you can edit the route by holding your finger on the route a bit longer until grey
pin appears, then drag the grey pin to a new position. The route will be altered to pass through that place.
A new waypoint will be added to this position.

Turn by turn navigation
In Navigation mode the navigation screen will show the map of surrounding area with the calculated route
highlighted in violet. As you approach a junction, further directions are displayed to indicate which road to
take.
In addition to turn by turn directions, the navigation screen also provides a range of further useful
information:
1. Traffic with current delay (if Live Services are active)
2. Speed camera warning
3. Destination mark (if destination is within sight)
4. Upcoming speed limit change with distance to where it becomes effective
5. Estimated time of arrival at destination
6. Search bar

Dashcam
Record what’s happening on the road ahead of you and share videos with friends or use as evidence in
case of accident. Dashcam automatically saves video in case of crash and records even while you are
navigating.

How to buy Head up display
You can purchase a Head Up Display feature via Sygic application by going to:
Menu > Sygic Store > Head Up Display > Buy and finish the purchase via our mobile e-shop.
Or you can visit Sygic e-shop via computer and make the purchase on our e-shop.

Please note: purchasing Head Up Display won’t give you a product code – the feature will be bound to your
Sygic account.
How to activate Head up display
To activate your purchased Head up Display feature, please, log into the application: *Sygic menu > Sign in
* – select the Sygic option to enter your e-mail address and your password.
Now it is important to install Head up display feature. Please go to Sygic menu > Sygic Store > Head up
display > Install . This will install the feature in your Sygic and you will be able to use HUD by tapping on
the HUD icon on the widget screen.
If you for some reason cannot see the HUD icon or you can see Buy instead of Install in Sygic Store > Head
up display, please make sure you are connected and then please download any map via Sygic menu >
Settings > Manage maps. After this please re-launch your Sygic application.

How to activate Celebrity Voices
Celebrity voices license is bound to the e-mail address you have used during purchase (your Sygic
account).
To access, please, log into the application: *Menu > Sygic Store > Manage your purchases
You could also receive the product code to activate your Celebrity voice. To activate it please go to Sygic
menu > Sygic Store > Restore / Manage your purchases > Activate / Restore > Activate product code. Enter
your code and the voice will be activated.
You can download your activated Celebrity voice via Sygic menu > Settings > Voice > Celebrity voices.

Troubleshooting
Dear customer,
if you are experiencing any issues with Sygic GPS Navigation, this category will help you solve it.
Please, choose your type of issue from the menu on the left side.
If you would not find proper solution in this User Guide, please contact our Customer support .
Acquiring GPS position
Your device may lose GPS signal under any of the following conditions:
• The device is in a building, tunnel or at a location where signal from the GPS satellites is obstructed
by buildings, trees, electric cables or other objects.
• Device system settings may be set incorrectly
• On a smartphone/tablet device location services are turned off
• Product settings may be set incorrectly
• The assisted location data from mobile networks are overloaded
If your device can’t determine your current position you will be offered the following options:
• Select from map
Allows you to select any starting point for the route calculation.
• Last valid position
Your route will be calculated from your last known position (i.e. where you were just before the device
lost GPS signal).
• Search
Type address of your current position manually.
To solve the issue please perform a few steps in the following order:
• Restart your device and go to Android settings > Apps > Sygic > Force stop and clear data. Launch
Sygic and go to Settings > top right menu button > Reset to defaults.
• If it is still the same please install GPS Status & Toolbox app. Launch it and tap anywhere on the
screen and then the the Tools icon > Manage A-GPS state > Reset.

• In case the issue persists afterwards, it is needed to perform the Full reinstall of Sygic.
You might want to consider contacting the seller or manufacturer of your mobile device for repair if the GPS
Status & Toolbox app shows inaccurate signal as well.
Problem downloading Maps
If you have trouble downloading maps, or if the download freezes, please perform a few steps in the
following order:
• Check the size of selected maps via Menu > Settings > Manage maps. Make sure you have sufficient
free space available on your device.
• Try to connect to a wireless network and make sure no firewall/antivirus is blocking the connection.
Also reboot the WiFi router and your mobile device.
• Go to Android settings > Apps > Sygic and select Force close and then Clear data.
Freezing, Crashing and Black Screen
To solve the issue please perform a few steps in the following order:
• Please go to Google Play Store and check if there is an update available. If there is, please update
your Sygic GPS Navigation app.
• Go to Android settings > Apps > Sygic > Force close and Clear data
• In case the issue persists, it is needed to perform the full reinstall of Sygic:
1. Uninstall Sygic GPS Navigation app
2. Remove “Sygic” folder from your device memory using a file manager app or while connected to
a PC. It is important to delete the folder, so we make sure all folders are 100% removed, even
the hidden ones. In case you do not have a file manager installed on your device, please, try to

In case you want to keep your personal Sygic data, POIs, Favourites and maps,please do the
following:
- Find Sygic via File manager
- Open the Sygic folder and remove the Android folder and the “version” file.
- Then go into Sygic/Res and delete everything except the db and itinerary files.
3. Perform a clean installation of Sygic GPS Navigation from Google Play store

Live Services are not working
In order for the Live services to work, you need to have purchased the yearly subscription and be signed in
to your Sygic app via menu > Sign in.
Check if internet connection is available. To use Live services it is necessary to have sufficient internet
connection on your device.
Then you should be able to see the subscription active in Sygic menu > Sygic Store > Restore / Manage
your purchases.

To solve the issue please perform a few steps in the following order:
• Go to Android settings > Apps > Sygic > Force close and Clear data
