4 Operation
4.1 The display
The display is provided with an automatic backlight, which illuminates the display for ca. 30 seconds every
time a button is pressed. The display can be re-lit with any button. In the normal operating mode, the display
shows the following information:

2 Alarm/wake-up function is switched on.
3 Battery status indicator
4 Contact has been established with the
base station
5 Ring tone is switched off
6 Keypad lock is switched on
7 Internal number in the case of multiple
mobile units
8 Display button with different functions
9 Display button with different functions
10 There are calls in the caller list that
have not been accepted
11 Name of the mobile unit
12 No call is being made
4.2 Receiving calls
When a call arrives, the ring tone sounds on the mobile unit and on the base station. Lift the mobile unit from
the base station or press the call button
on the mobile unit and the connection will be made. The call
indicator on the base station will flash during the call. To end the call, replace the handset in the base station
or press the
button on the handset.
Note: While the mobile unit is ringing, you can adjust the ring tone volume by means of the cursor buttons.
Important note: If it is not possible to accept a call, a message will appear in the display (see
Item 10 in Chapter 4.1) In this way, you will be able to tell that you have received a call during
your absence. You will find further information on this topic in Chapter 10.
