Duiktijd De tijd gemeten tussen het begin van de afdaling en het

boven water komen aan het einde van een duik.

EAN Enriched Air Nitrox, gewoonlijk nitrox of verrijkte

lucht genoemd.

Enriched Air Nitrox Wordt ook verrijkte lucht, EANx of nitrox genoemd.

Perslucht met daaraan meer dan 21% zuurstof toege-

voegd. Standaard mengsels zijn EAN32 (NOAA Nitrox

I of NN I) en EAN36 (NOAA Nitrox II of NN II).

Freediver Een apnoe-duiker of snorkelduiker: een duiker wiens

enige bron van zuurstof de lucht in zijn longen is.

Gedeeltelijke zuurstofdruk

De grens tot waar Nitrox-mengsel veilig gebruikt kun-

nen worden. De maximale druk waarop verreikte lucht

ingeademd kan worden is 1.4 bar. De contingency gede-

eltelijke druk limiet is 1.6 bar. Duikers die deze grens

overschrijden lopen direct gevaar op een zuurstofver-

giftiging.

Geen-decompressielimiet

De maximum tijd die een duiker op een bepaalde diepte

mag blijven zonder dat hij decompressiestops moet

maken tijdens de opstijging. Ook: nultijd.
