5.1. El Suunto RGBM
El modelo de burbuja de gradiente reducido (Reduced Gradient Bubble Model - RGBM),
utilizado en el Suunto Cobra, permite predecir tanto el gas disuelto como el gas libre
presente en la sangre y los tejidos de los submarinistas. Se trata de un avance signi-
ficativo respecto de los modelos Haldane clásicos, que no predicen el gas libre. La
ventaja del modelo Suunto RGBM es una mayor seguridad gracias a su capacidad
para adaptarse a una amplia variedad de situaciones y perfiles de inmersión.
Para poder optimizar la respuesta a las distintas situaciones con mayor riesgo, se ha
introducido una categoría de paradas adicional, denominada parada de seguridad
obligatoria. La combinación de tipos de paradas depende de los ajustes del usuario
y cada situación de inmersión en concreto.
Para sacar el máximo partido de las ventajas en seguridad que proporciona el algoritmo
RGBM, consulte 10.2. RGBM.
5.2. Ascensos de emergencia
En el caso poco probable de que el ordenador de buceo funcione incorrectamente
durante una inmersión, siga los procedimientos de emergencia proporcionados por
su entidad de formación de inmersión certificada o, como alternativa, siga los pasos
enumerados a continuación:
1.
Evalúe con calma la situación y ascienda lo antes posible a una profundidad in-
ferior a los 18 m/60 pies.
2.
A 18 m/60 pies, reduzca su velocidad de ascenso a 10 m/33 pies por minuto y
ascienda hasta una profundidad de entre 3 y 6 m/10 y 20 pies.
