WARNING NEVER power off the receiver or pull the mains plug during the software
upgrade process. Doing so might cause irreparable damage to your receiver
and will void your warranty.
A.1 TROUBLESHOOTING
There may be various reasons for abnormal operation of the receiver. Please check the receiver according
to the procedures as explained below. If the receiver does not work properly after checking it, please
contact your local Service line or STRONG dealer. Alternatively you can send a support mail via our
website: www.strong.tv. NEVER open or disassemble your receiver. This may cause a dangerous situation
and will void the warranty.
Symptom Cause Remedy
The display on front
panel does not light
up.
The power cord /adapter is not
plugged in.
Check that the power cord is plugged in to
the wall outlet. Make sure power adapter is
connected correctly on the rear panel.
No picture or sound Wrong connection or setting of
the Audio/Video output.
Connect the Audio/Video output of the
receiver correctly to the TV set and check
the settings in the menu Control Panel >
System Setup > User Setup.
Audio muting. Press the MUTE button.
TV is powered off.
Wrong Input selected.
Turn TV on.
Select the correct TV Input.
No Signal/ No picture The receiver can’t receive the
signal.
Check the antenna cable, replace the
cable, or connect the cable to the receiver
tightly.
Incorrect values of some tuner
parameters.
Set the values of tuner parameters
correctly in menu Channel Setup>
Channel Scan.
Wrong direction of the dish. Check the signal with an appropriate
equipment and adjust your dish correctly.
No access to pay per
view services
Payment expired
Smart Card not correct inserted.
Wrong smart card
Tuned to pay TV service which is
not supported by your used smart
card
Check your access data in CAS menu
Check if your card is correct inserted.
Check with you local dealer
Check if card match to the service.
The remote control
does not work
The batteries of the remote
control are not inserted, wrongly
inserted or exhausted.
Check whether the batteries are inserted
correctly or exhausted, if so replace the
batteries in the remote control.
The USB storage device
is not working properly.
Wrong formatted.
Device speed not sufficient.
Format USB device by receiver in menu
Multimedia>USB Info & Format.
Check if USB 2.0 device is connected.
The external USB
HDD does not start.
Power consumption is too high. Connect an extra power supply adapter to
your USB HDD device.
The receiver switches
to STBY automatically.
Auto Power Down function
is activated and reached the
adjusted time (default 3h).
In the menu Control Panel > System
Setup > Time Setup you can adjust the
Auto Standby time.
