ANTI-LOCK BRAKING
SYSTEM WITH A PINLIFT ON
THE REAR AXLE
myStromer cannot be held liable for dam-
age caused by unreasonable, unpredictable and/
or inappropriate use of the anti-lock braking sys-
tem (ABS).
Use of the S-Pedelec should always be adjusted
to the overall situation, including traffic pat-
terns and your riding skills.
In addition, the anti-lock braking system (ABS)
actively influences the braking function of your
S-Pedelec. Please bear in mind that, in certain
situations, your braking distance may actually
be extended.
The capacities of your anti-lock braking
system (ABS) have limits!
In extreme riding conditions, such as hard brak-
ing on a slippery surface, setting off on steep as-
cents or when panicking, your might not be able
to steer your S-Pedelec as you expected. When-
ever possible, always try to avoid late and hard
braking because you were relying too much on
your anti-lock braking system (ABS).
As an additional optional safety measure, your
S-Pedelec may also have an anti-lock braking
system (ABS) on the front axle with a pinlift on
the rear axle. This set-up allows for controlled
braking on slippery surfaces and should prevent
you from falling over the bicycle in the event of a
hard brake. The anti-lock braking system is fully
integrated into your S-Pedelec and may only be
differentiated using the ABS control light on your
OMNI display.
Before you first use the anti-lock braking system
(ABS), it is essential that you carefully read the
operating manual from the manufacturer, Blu-
brake, which you can find at www.stromerbike.
com/support and on their own website.
Before the ride:
The anti-lock braking system must be initialized
before each use. You can do this by carefully acti-
vating the front wheel brake at a speed of at least
5km/h after the S-Pedelec has been turned on/
woken up/unlocked. The orange ABS control light
on the OMNI display should no longer light up af-
ter this process. Do not start your ride until you
have successfully initialized the system.
During the ride:
If the ABS control light is displayed during the
ride, this means there is a problem or malfunction
of the system. Restart your S-Pedelec and perform
the initialization again.
If the control light still does not turn off,
consult a specialist Stromer bicycle retailer imme-
diately.
As long as the brakes have no mechanical de-
fects, the S-Pedelec can still brake without the
anti-lock braking system (ABS).
Maintenance and warranty
General work on the braking system must only
ever be performed by a specialist Stromer bicycle
retailer. If the maintenance is not performed in
accordance with the specifications and/or if work
is performed by unauthorized personnel, the war-
ranty and/or guarantee of the whole anti-lock
braking system is immediately voided.
