If you are interrupted when operating the saw, com-
plete the process and switch off before looking up.
Do not use the saw unless the guards are in place.
Report faults in the machine, including guards and saw
blades, as soon as they are discovered.
Do not lock the movable guard in the open position
and always ensure that it is working properly, freely
rotating and returning to fully cover the teeth of the
blade.
If the table insert is damaged or worn, have it replaced
by an authorized service centre.
Periodically check that all nuts, bolts and other xings
are properly tightened.
Always clamp round workpieces such as dowel rods,
etc. with suitable devices.
Always use stands to provide support for long work-
pieces that overhang the turntable.
The machine has to be set up where it can stand rmly,
e.g. bolt it to a work bench, a universal base or simi-
lar.
Do not cut:
- workpieces which are too small to be held securely
in your hand
- several workpieces simultaneously.
Avoid cutting nails. Inspect the workpiece and remove
all nails and other foreign objects before beginning
sawing.
Keep your hands away from the moving saw blade!
Never load the machine so much that it cuts out.
Make sure that off-cuts can be removed from the side
of the saw blade. If not, they may catch on the saw
blade crown and be catapulted into the surrounding
area. Never use your hands to remove sawdust, chips
or waste close by the blade.
Refrain from removing any cut-offs or other parts of the
work piece from the cutting area whilst the machine is
running and the saw head is not in the rest position.
Before you switch on the machine, check that all
wrenches and adjustment tools have been removed.
Do not attempt to free a jammed blade before rst
switching off the tool.
Always hold the saw on parts that are insulated. If you
accidentally cut into hidden wiring or the saw's own
cable, the metal parts of the saw will become "live".
Switch off at the mains and remove the plug immedi-
ately.
Always stand to one side from the saw blade when
operating the saw. Adopt a rm standing position and
keep your balance at all times.
When operating the saw, use safety equipment includ-
ing safety goggles or shield, ear protection, dust mask
and protective clothing including safety gloves.
Do not look into the laser beam.
Do not point the laser beam at people or animals.
Do not use the laser beam on highly re ective materi-
als. Re ected light is dangerous.
Do not touch the laser lens with hard objects. Clean
the laser lens with a soft, dry brush.
Caution! Special care is required when making double
miter cuts.
Disconnect the machine from power source after n-
ishing the work.
Adjusting the saw 2 4
Ensure that the machine is always xed to a bench,
whenever possible. Never operate your miter saw on
the oor or in a crouched position. Failure to heed this
warning can result in serious personal injury.
Install safety guards.
It must be possible for the saw blade and all moving
parts to run freely.
While pressing down lightly on the machine head (4),
pull the lock pin (16) out of the motor holder to disen-
gage the saw from its bottom working position.
Lift the machine head (4) to its top position.
Replacing the saw blade
5 6
Pull out the power plug.
Swing up the machine head (4).
Unscrew the screws (17) and take off the saw blade
cover (15).
Raise the lower blade guard (6) to its highest position
(Note: Be careful, the lower guard is spring loaded).
Use the supplied face wrench to lock the outer ange
in place and use the socket wrench to unscrew the saw
blade bolt (Important: lefthand thread. Unscrew clock-
wise!).
Take the saw blade (5) off the inner ange and lift up
and out.
Clean the saw blade anges and spindle thoroughly
before mounting the saw blade.
Mount the new saw blade in reverse order and fasten.
Note the direction of rotation of the motor and the
blade. The cutting bevel of the teeth, i.e. the direction
of rotation of the saw blade, has to conform with direc-
tion of the arrow marked on the housing.
Before using the saw again, check that the safety de-
vices are in good working order.
Squaring the blade
2-4 8-11
Pull the handle all the way down and engage the lock
down pin (16) to hold the handle in the transport posi-
tion.
Slacken lock screws (10) to release the rotary table. Ro-
tate the miter table until the pointer is positioned at 0°.
Return lock screws (10) to their lock position.
Place a set square on the miter table against the rear
fence (7) and blade (Fig. 8). Adjustment is needed if they
are not perpendicular.
If adjustment is needed, loosen screws (23, Fig. 9) at the
rear of the table. Using the set square correctly align the
fence and the blade, and then retighten all screws.
Now unlock the bevel lock knob (13, Fig. 2) and move the
handle to the 90° position according to the bevel scale
(Fig. 11). Lock the bevel lock knob. Place a set square
against the table and blade (see Fig. 10). Adjustment is
needed if they are not perpendicular. To square the blade,
unscrew the 90° bevel positioning screw (21, Fig. 11) at
the rear of the table. Correctly align the blade and table
using the set square and lock the bevel lock lever. Reset
the 90° bevel positioning screw so when the handle is
moved to the 90° bevel position the screw bottoms out,
now adjust the pointer to the 90° position at the scale.
