Inmovilización de la cadena con
el freno de cadena
– en caso de emergencia
– para el arranque
–en ralentí
La cadena se detiene y bloquea cuando
se empuja el protector de la mano hacia
la punta de la barra con la mano
izquierda, o cuando el freno se activa
por inercia en ciertos casos de contra-
golpe.
Desconexión del freno de cadena
: Tire del protector de la mano hacia
el mango delantero.
Siempre desconecte el freno de
cadena antes de aumentar la veloci-
dad del motor y empezar el trabajo
de corte (la única excepción a esta
regla es cuando se está probando el
funcionamiento del freno de
cadena).
El funcionamiento a velocidad alta
con el freno de cadena aplicado
(cadena trabada) dañará rápida-
mente el motor y el mando de la
cadena (embrague, freno de
cadena).
El freno de cadena también es acti-
vado por la inercia del protector de
mano delantero
si la fuerza de contragolpe de la sierra
es lo suficiente fuerte: El protector es
empujado a gran velocidad hacia la
punta de la barra, aunque usted no
tenga la mano izquierda detrás del pro-
tector, por ejemplo, durante un corte de
tala.
El freno de cadena funcionará única-
mente si el protector de la mano no ha
sido modificado de manera alguna.
Prueba del funcionamiento del
freno de la cadena
Antes de empezar a trabajar: Haga fun-
cionar el motor a ralentí y aplique el
freno de cadena (empuje el protector de
la mano hacia la punta de la barra).
Abra el acelerador completamente
durante un máximo de 3 segundos. La
cadena no debe girar. El protector de la
mano debe estar limpio y moverse libre-
mente.
