Als de motor niet aanslaat
Na de eerste ontsteking werd de
combischakelaar niet op tijd vanuit de
stand chokeklep gesloten l in de
startgasstand n geplaatst, de motor is
mogelijk verzopen.

N Bougie uitbouwen – zie "Bougie"
N Bougie droogwrijven
N Het startkoord meerdere malen
uittrekken – om de
verbrandingskamer te ventileren
N Bougie weer monteren – zie

startgasstand n plaatsen – ook bij
koude motor
N De motor opnieuw starten
Gedurende de eerste bedrijfsuren
Het nieuwe apparaat tot aan de derde
tankvulling niet onbelast met hoge
toerentallen laten draaien, om te
voorkomen dat er tijdens de inloopfase
extra belasting optreedt. Gedurende de
inloopfase moeten de bewegende delen
op elkaar inlopen – in de motor heerst
een verhoogde wrijvingsweerstand. De
motor levert zijn maximale vermogen
pas na 5 tot 15 tankvullingen.
Tijdens de werkzaamheden
Kettingspanning regelmatig
controleren
Een nieuwe zaagketting moet vaker
worden nagespannen dan een die reeds
langer meedraait.
In koude staat
De zaagketting moet tegen de
onderzijde van het zaagblad liggen,
maar moet met de hand nog over het
zaagblad kunnen worden getrokken.
Indien nodig, de zaagketting spannen –
zie hoofdstuk "Zaagketting spannen".
Bij bedrijfstemperatuur
De zaagketting zet uit en hangt door. De
aandrijfschakels aan de onderzijde van
het zaagblad mogen niet uit de groef
komen – de zaagketting kan anders van
het zaagblad lopen. Zaagketting
spannen – zie hoofdstuk "Zaagketting
spannen".
Na langdurig gebruik met vol gas
De motor nog even stationair laten
draaien tot de meeste warmte door de
koelluchtstroom is afgevoerd, dit om te
voorkomen dat de componenten op de
motor (ontstekingssysteem,
carburateur) door warmteophoping te
zwaar worden belast.
Na het werk
N Zaagketting ontspannen als deze
tijdens de werkzaamheden bij
bedrijfstemperatuur werd
gespannen
Gebruiksvoorschriften
De carburateur niet armer
afstellen om een vermeend hoger
vermogen te bereiken – de motor
zou anders defect kunnen raken –
zie "Carburateur afstellen".
Gas geven alleen bij een geloste
kettingrem. Een verhoogd
motortoerental bij een
geblokkeerde kettingrem
(zaagketting staat stil) leidt al na
korte tijd tot schade aan de motor
en het kettingmechanisme
(koppeling, kettingrem).
Bij het afkoelen krimpt de
zaagketting. Een niet-ontspannen
zaagketting kan de krukas en de
lagers beschadigen.
