medicines affecting their ability to react
or drugs must not operate the machine.
Clothing and equipment
Wear sturdy shoes with non-slip soles.
STIHL can supply a comprehensive
range of protective clothing and
equipment.
The machine
Never modify the machine in any way,
as this could be extremely dangerous.
STIHL excludes all liability for personal
injury and damage to property caused
while using unauthorized attachments.
Transporting the machine
Observe the corresponding section of
the Instruction Manual.
Do not carry the machine by the handle
of the sweeper container.
In vehicles: Properly secure the machine
to prevent turnover, slipping and
damage.
Cleaning the machine
Clean the machine to remove dust and
dirt – do not use degreasing agents.
Clean plastic parts with a damp cloth.
Harsh detergents can damage the
plastic.
Wear sturdy gloves when cleaning the
circular brush or sweeper roller* (*
KG 770 only) to avoid cuts from sharp
objects.
Do not use high-pressure cleaners to
clean the machine. The hard water jet
can damage parts of the machine.
Do not spray the machine with water.
Do not clean the circular brush and
sweeper roller* (* KG 770 only) with
compressed air. The hard airstream can
damage the bristles.
Storing the unit
When not using the machine, it must be
put down in such a way that it does not
endanger anyone. Ensure that the
machine cannot be used without
authorization.
Secure the machine to prevent it falling
over and the uncontrolled folding down
of the pushbar.
Do not reach within the swivel range of
the pushbar – parts of your body may
become jammed between the pushbar
and housing if the pushbar inadvertently
falls over – risk of injury!
Store the machine in a dry room.
Accessories and spare parts
Only use parts or accessories which
have been approved by STIHL for this
machine or which are technically
equivalent. Contact a servicing dealer if
in doubt. Only use high-quality parts and
attachments. Otherwise, there may be a
risk of accidents or damage to the
machine.
STIHL recommends the use of genuine
STIHL parts and accessories. These
have been optimized for the product and
the user's requirements.
Operation
Before starting work
The machine may only be used when all
parts are in perfect working order.
Check that machine is properly
assembled and in good condition – refer
to appropriate chapters in the Instruction
Manual:
– Keep the handles dry and clean,
free from oil and dirt – important for
safe handling of the machine
– Check that the pushbar is secure
– Check the condition of the housing
– Check the condition and secure
fitting of the sweeper container
– Check circular brush and sweeper
roller* (* KG 770 only) for clamped
down parts and hardened dirt –
bristles must move freely
– Check sweeping pressure setting or
set to surface to be swept
– Never attempt to modify the controls
or safety devices
The unit should only be used if it is in
good working order – risk of accident!
During work
If the circular brush or sweeper roller* (*
KG 770 only) is blocked, stop work and
remove the blockage. Wear sturdy
gloves to avoid cuts from sharp objects.
Never reach into the rotating bristles –
risk of accident!
During use, do not knock objects, e. g.
racks, scaffolding – risk of objects falling
over or falling down
