1.1 Unit description
The BHC thermofan duo towel rail radiator is
suitable for use as full or supplementary heat-
ing as well as for drying and warming towels.
There are several levels for hanging these.
The units can be operated either as electric
room heaters or as heating elements within a
hot water central heating system.
During operation, the room air over the
surface of the heating element is heated and
distributed through the room by natural con-
vection.
The unit also has a time-limited electric
rapid heater (1000 W) with fan that can be
switched on when required.
The electrical connection is by means of mains
plug.
Operation with a hot water central
heating system
Even when the central heating is switched
off, the heating element can be heated via
the integral electric Direct immersion heater
(750 W) fitted as standard (see 1.3.2 Summer
operation).
Do not operate the immersion heater
unless the radiator is full; otherwise
the radiator will be damaged.
1.2 Operation as an electric
room heater
The BHC is fully controlled via the control
panel on the front after the Direct immersion
heater has been switched on using switch S1.
The heater is be switched on via the ON/OFF
button (1). Set the room temperature to
between approx. + 6 °C and + 30 °C on the
room thermostat (3).
After the adjusted ambient temperature has
been reached, it will remain constantly, until the
appliance is switched off (the heating capacity
of the appliance must correspond at least to
the necessary heat requirement of the room).
Rapid heating function
With the rapid-heating-function the imersion
heater (if switch on) and the rapid-heater
(A2) will run for the preselected period for
continuous operation, regardless of the tem-
perature set on the room thermostat.
The heating time can be set at ¼ h, ½ h, 1 h
or 2 h on the short-time timer (6) and is acti-
vated by the rapid-heating button (7).
If the heating time is to be ended before the
end of the set period, the rapid heating button
must be pressed again.
Frost protection
In the event of a lengthy absence, the room
temperature should not fall below approx.
+6 °C (frost protection) and the room ther-
mostat should be turned to the  position
and the appliance must remain switched on
(observe the heating capacity of the appliance
and heat requirement of the room).
1.3 Operation in a central
heating system
1.3.1 Winter operation
The central hot-water heating system is op-
erating.
The temperature of the BHC is controlled by
means of the thermostatic valve installed site
wise.
