Shroud foils
If the independent setting capability of the 3 sensors is not sufficient, you can additionally apply shroud foils (C), (D)
and (E) to limit the detection zone in the way you require (see illustration). Shroud foils (A) + (B) under the sensor sig-
nificantly impair the detection of small animals. This will, of course, prevent detection by these lenses, particularly the
sneak-by guard.
Note: Use of the shroud foil (A) may prevent the remote control from working (see Fig. ).
Hint: Apply a little water with cleaning agent to the lens and subsequently apply the shroud foil. In this way, the foil
does not firmly adhere immediately and you can conveniently make fine adjustments. Once the cleaner is dry, the
foil adheres.
If a mains switch is installed in the mains supply lead, the light is capable of the following functions in addition to the
simple ON/OFF function (wiring and ):
Manual override by power switch
Sensor operation
1) Switch light ON (when light is OFF):
Switch OFF and ON once. Light stays ON for the period selected.
2) Switch light OFF (when light is ON):
Switch OFF and ON once. The light goes out or switches over to sensor mode.
Manual override
1) Activate manual override:
Turn switch OFF and ON twice. The light is set to stay ON for 4 hours
(red LED lights up behind lens). Then it returns automatically to sensor mode
(red LED off).
2) Deactivate manual override:
Switch OFF and ON once. The light goes out or switches over to sensor mode.

2 x OFF/ON
Twilight setting
(response threshold)
(Factory setting:
daylight operation 2000 lux)
The sensor's response threshold
can be set to between approx. 2 lux
and 2000 lux.
Note:
The desired twilight value can also be memorised by
remote control.
Reach setting
(Factory setting:
max. reach)
The reach can be adjusted in 3 directions by 3 control dials (100° respectively) independently from one another. The
table shows the reaches with different mounting heights and tangential walking direction. The values apply with flat
terrain and a temperature of 20 °C.
Time setting
(switch-off delay)
(Factory setting: approx. 10 sec.)
The desired duration of illumination
of the connected light is infinitely
adjustable between approx. 5 sec.
to max. 15 min.
Pulse mode:
If the controller is set to “ ”, the device is in pulse
mode, i.e. the output is switched on for approx. 2 sec.
(e.g. for an automatic stairwell system). Afterwards, the
sensor does not react to movement for approx. 8 sec.
Functions on the unit
The system can be put into operation once the mains
power has been connected and the unit is closed.
The sensor first carries out a calibration cycle lasting
40 – 50 sec. (LED flashes once a second).
Once calibration has been completed, several settings
can be made directly on the sensor or by remote control
(see section on “Remote control”).

Connection using two-circuit switch for manual
and automatic operation
Connection via two-way switch for manual
override and automatic operation
Position I: automatic operation
Position II: manual operation for permanent light ON
Note: the unit cannot be switched OFF, only optional
operation between settings I and II.
a) Load, max. illumination 2500 W
(see Technical specifications)
b) Sensor connection terminals
c) Indoor switch
d) Indoor two-circuit switch, manual, automatic
e) Indoor two-way switch, automatic, manual override
Connecting several sensors in parallel (not illustrated)
In this case, it is important not to exceed a sensor's
maximum connected rating. In addition, all units must
be connected to the same phase.

Operation / Maintenance
The Infrared Sensor is suitable for switching light ON
and OFF automatically. The unit is not suitable for bur-
glar alarm systems as it does not provide the level of
sabotage protection that is prescribed for this purpose.
Weather conditions may affect the way the motion
detector works. Strong gusts of wind, snow, rain or hail
may cause the light to come ON when it is not wanted
because the sensor is unable to distinguish sudden
changes of temperature from sources of heat. The
detector lens may be cleaned with a damp cloth if it
gets dirty (do not use cleaning agents).
