11. AFTERMARKET ACCESSORIES

11.1. RANGE EXTENDER (RE)

Your VADO SL is compatible with the RE to further increase range and ride time. The RE is securely held in the

recommended bottle cage (Zee Cage II, Right) and connects to the motor through a dedicated power cable that

plugs into the charge port. The low weight of the RE allows you to carry more REs to boost autonomy. One RE adds

160Wh to the system which lasts for about 1h of riding in Turbo mode (ﬂat / slight gradient).

Please see your Authorized Specialized Retailer to get your RE(s) and the recommended bottle cage.

USING YOUR RE

 Install the cage onto the bicycle on the seat tube location according to the instructions supplied with the bottle

cage. Only use the recommended bottle cage (Zee Cage II, Right) for the RE.

 Power off your VADO SL bicycle.

 Insert the end of the power cable with the rounded cover into the port on the RE (Fig. 11.1 a). The VADO SL

requires the 220mm RE cable to connect to your bicycle.

 Clip the cable into the channel located in the RE housing (Fig. 11.1 b).

 Install the RE in the bottle cage (Fig. 11.2).

 Secure the RE into the bottle cage using the supplied Specialized band (Fig. 11.3).

 Locate the charge port on the non-drive-side of the frame, near the bottom bracket (Fig 11.4).

 Open the charge port lid (Fig. 11.4) and insert the RE plug into the charge port (Fig. 11.5).

 Once the plug is seated correctly, twist the lever on the connector clockwise to lock the cable in place (Fig. 11.6).

 To verify the RE is successfully connected to the system, check that the green battery level LED lights appear on

the TCU.

I have a VADO SL 4.0, I am seeing a flashing message on the computer screen that says

I live in AZ and I'm concerned about the summer heat in the garage and how it might effect the battery since the battery is not removable. Storing the bike is not an option, unfortunately. Submitted on 19-4-2022 at 18:59

Chain comes off gear hub when shifting gear to highest. There does not seem to be resistance to this Submitted on 9-3-2022 at 18:04
