I've just bought a Sparta ion m-gear 2nd hand, replaced the : 3616

I've just bought a Sparta ion m-gear 2nd hand, replaced the back inner tube (wheel off) and the power assist cuts out after only a few minutes. It may have been a problem beforehand but I was unable to ride the bike to test it with a flat tyre. The error code reading is E0005. Does anyone know what this means please?
