Voor extra gebruiksgemak is de computer mogelijk uitgerust met een vingerafdruksensor. Een kleine horizontale balk tussen
de linker- en rechterknop van het touchpad is de sensor van de vingerafdruklezer. Deze wordt in het vervolg vingerafdruksensor
genoemd.
Raadpleeg de online specificaties om na te gaan of uw model is uitgerust met de vingerafdruksensor.
Nadat u uw vingerafdruk(ken) hebt geregistreerd, biedt de functie voor vingerafdrukverificatie de volgende voorzieningen:
❑Een alternatief voor het invoeren van een wachtwoord
❑Aanmelden bij Windows (pagina 132)
Als u uw vingerafdrukken hebt geregistreerd voor uw gebruikersaccounts, kunt u in plaats van het wachtwoord
vingerafdrukherkenning gebruiken om u bij Windows aan te melden.
❑De functie Power-on Security(pagina 132)
Als u het opstartwachtwoord (pagina 116) en/of het wachtwoord voor de vaste schijf* (pagina 121) hebt ingesteld,
kunt u in plaats van het wachtwoord vingerafdrukverificatie gebruiken als u de computer inschakelt.
❑Wachtwoorddatabank (Password Bank) voor snelle toegang tot websites (pagina 133)
In plaats van het invoeren van gegevens kunt u vingerafdrukverificatie gebruiken om toegang te verkrijgen tot websites
die met een wachtwoord zijn beveiligd (gebruikersaccounts, wachtwoorden, enz.).
❑De functie File Safe om gegevens te coderen/decoderen (pagina 133)
Met de functie File Safe kunt u bestanden en mappen coderen om een gedoceerd archief te maken. Wanneer u dergelijke
gecodeerde archieven wilt decoderen of openen, gebruikt u de vingerafdrukverificatie of voert u het wachtwoord in dat u voor
de codering hebt opgegeven.
❑Toepassingsstartfunctie voor een snelle toegang (pagina 133)
Nadat u een toepassing hebt toegewezen aan uw vinger, kunt u met de vinger over de vingerafdruksensor vegen om de
toegewezen toepassing te openen.
*Het wachtwoord voor de vaste schijf is niet beschikbaar op modellen met twee ingebouwde flashopslagapparaten met RAID-configuratie. Zie de online specificaties voor
informatie over de configuratie van uw opslagapparaat.
