Notes
The larger the number, the higher the noise
level.
Tips
You can set a faster shutter speed, and reduce
image blur in dark locations or of moving
subjects by increasing ISO sensitivity (select a
larger number).
Gain/ISO Sensitivity (Recommended Exposure
Index) is the sensitivity to light of recording
media that incorporates an image sensor that
receives light. Even when the exposure is the
same, images differ depending on the Gain/ISO
setting.
High Gain/ISO sensitivity
With high Gain/ISO sensitivity, images will
be captured with an appropriate brightness
even under insufficient exposure. However,
increasing Gain/ISO sensitivity will cause
images to become noisy.
Low Gain/ISO sensitivity
You can record smooth images. However, the
shutter speed may slow down to compensate
for low Gain/ISO sensitivity. You should take
camera shake or movement of subjects into
account, too.
AE Shift
You can adjust the exposure manually.
Off
Optimizes exposure automatically.
On (EV and adjusted number)
Allows for further manual adjustment, after
optimum exposure has been determined by
your camcorder.
Tips
You can adjust the automatic exposure level to
brighter or darker when [Exposure] is set to
[Auto].
Touch
if the subject is white or the
backlight is bright, or touch
if the subject
is black or the light is dim.
You can also adjust manually by using the
MANUAL di
al (p. 47).
Picture Effect
Select the desired effect filter to achieve
more impressive and artistic expression.
Off
Does not use the Picture Effect function.

heavily emphasizing primary colors, or in
black and white.

Creates the look of an aged photo with sepia
color tones and faded contrast.

atmosphere: bright, transparent, ethereal,
tender, soft.

color, but renders others in black and white.

white.
