Moisture condensation
If your camcorder is brought directly from a cold
place to a warm place, moisture may condense
inside your camcorder, on the surface of the tape,
or on the lens. In this state, the tape may stick to
the head drum and be damaged or your
camcorder may not operate correctly. If there is
moisture inside your camcorder, the beep and
the % indicator flashes. When the Z indicator
flashes at the same time, the cassette is inserted in
your camcorder. If moisture condenses on the
lens, the indicator will not appear.
If moisture condensation has
occurred
None of the functions except cassette ejection will
work. Eject the cassette, turn off your camcorder,
and leave it for about one hour with the cassette
lid open. Your camcorder can be used again if the
% indicator does not appear when the power is
turned on again.
If moisture starts to condense, your camcorder
sometimes cannot detect condensation. If this
happens, the cassette is sometimes not ejected for
10 seconds after the cassette lid is opened. This is
not a malfunction. Do not close the cassette lid
until the cassette is ejected.
Note on moisture condensation
Moisture may condense when you bring your
camcorder from a cold place into a warm place
(or vice versa) or when you use your camcorder
in a hot place as follows:
•You bring your camcorder from a ski slope into
a place warmed up by heating device.
•You bring your camcorder from an air-
conditioned car or room into a hot place
outside.
•You use your camcorder after a squall or a
shower.
•You use your camcorder in a high temperature
and humid place.
How to prevent moisture condensation
When you bring your camcorder from a cold
place into a warm place, put your camcorder in a
plastic bag and tightly seal it. Remove the bag
when the air temperature inside the plastic bag
has reached the surrounding temperature (after
about one hour).

Condensvocht in de camcorder
Als de camcorder rechtstreeks van een koude in
een warme omgeving wordt gebracht, kan de lens
beslaan of kan vocht condenseren in het inwendige
van het apparaat of het bandoppervlak. Als dat
zich voordoet, kan de band aan de koptrommel
blijven plakken en beschadiging of storing in de
werking van het apparaat veroorzaken. Als er
vocht in de camcorder is aangetroffen, klinkt er een
pieptoon en gaat de % indicator knipperen. Als
tegelijk hiermee ook de Z indicator voor cassette-
uitworp knippert, is er nog een videocassette in de
camcorder aanwezig. Als er vocht op de lens is
gecondenseerd, ziet u het vanzelf: dan gaan er geen
waarschuwingslampjes branden.

Dan zal geen van de bedieningsorganen voorlopig
nog werken, behalve de cassette-uitwerptoets.
Open dan de cassettehouder, schakel de camcorder
uit, en laat het apparaat daarna 1 uur lang
ongebruikt staan met de cassettehouder open. U
kunt de camcorder weer gebruiken als bij het
opnieuw inschakelen de % indicator niet verschijnt.
Beginnende condensvorming wordt soms niet door
de camcorder gedetecteerd. In dat geval wordt de
cassette soms na het openen van de cassettehouder
gedurende 10 seconden niet uitgeworpen. Dat is
normaal en duidt niet op storing. Sluit de
cassettehouder pas nadat de cassette is uitgeworpen.
Wanneer kan zich condensatie voordoen
Er kan vocht uit de lucht in de camcorder
condenseren wanneer u het apparaat in een warme,
vochtige omgeving gebruikt of wanneer u de
camcorder direct van een koude omgeving in een
warme omgeving brengt (of andersom),
bijvoorbeeld:
•Als u de camcorder van skihellingen rechtstreeks
meeneemt in een verwarmde ruimte.
•Als u de camcorder op een hete zomerdag
vanuit een koele ruimte of een auto met
airconditioning mee naar buiten neemt.
•Als u de camcorder onmiddellijk na een
regenbui gebruikt.
•Als u de camcorder gebruikt in een warme
ruimte met een hoge vochtigheidsgraad, zoals
een broeikas e.d..
Voorkomen van condensvorming
Voordat u de camcorder van een koude
omgeving naar een warme plaats brengt, verpakt
u het apparaat eerst in een plastic zak die u goed
(luchtdicht) afsluit. Neem de videorecorder pas
uit de plastic zak, wanneer de lucht daarin en het
apparaat dezelfde temperatuur hebben
aangenomen als de omringende warme lucht (na
ongeveer 1 uur).
