Usable cassettes
Selecting cassette types
You can use the mini DV cassette only*.
You cannot use any other 8 mm,
Hi8, Digital8, VHS, VHSC,
S-VHS, S-VHSC, Betamax or
DV cassette.
* There are two types of mini DV cassettes: with
cassette memory and without cassette memory.
Tapes with cassette memory have (Cassette
Memory) mark.
We recommend you to use the tape with
cassette memory.
The IC memory is mounted on this type of
cassette. Your camcorder can read and write
data such as dates of recording or titles, etc. to
this memory.
The functions using the cassette memory
require successive signals recorded on the tape.
If the tape has a blank portion in the beginning
or between the recorded portions, a title may
not be displayed properly or the search
functions may not work properly. Not to make
any blank portion on the tape, operate the
followings.
Press END SEARCH to go to the end of the
recorded portion before you begin the next
recording if you operate the followings:
– you have ejected the cassette while recording.
– you have played back the tape in the VCR.
– you have used the edit search function.
If there is a blank portion or discontinuous
signal on your tape, re-record from the
beginning to the end of the tape concerning
above.
The same result may occur when you record
using a digital video camera recorder without a
cassette memory function on a tape recorded by
one with the cassette memory function.

is 4KB. Your camcorder can accommodate
tapes having a memory capacity of up to 16KB.

Geschikte videocassettes
Keuze van het cassettetype
In deze camcorder kunt u uitsluitend gebruik
maken van mini-DV* videocassettes met het
beeldmerk. U kunt hierin geen 8 mm of
Hi8, Digital8, VHS, VHSC,
S-VHS, S-VHSC, Betamax of
DV videocassettes gebruiken.
* Er bestaan twee verschillende typen mini-DV
videocassettes: met en zonder
cassettegeheugen. Die met cassettegeheugen
zijn te herkennen aan het
(cassettegeheugen) beeldmerk.
Wij willen u aanraden gebruik te maken van
videocassettes mét cassettegeheugen.
Elke videocassette met cassettegeheugen is
voorzien van een IC geheugenchip. Hiermee
kan de camcorder allerlei gegevens zoals
opnamedata en titelbeelden vastleggen, om die
later af te lezen en weer te geven.
De cassettegeheugenfuncties vereisen echter
ook een ononderbroken opnamesignaal op de
videocassette. Als er zich een blanco gedeelte
tussen de video-opnamen bevindt, kan een
vastgelegd titelbeeld niet altijd juist worden
aangegeven of kunnen de zoekfuncties niet
naar behoren werken. Om te voorkomen dat er
tussen het opnemen stukken band worden
overgeslagen, volgt u de onderstaande
aanwijzingen.
Druk op de END SEARCH toets om het eind
van het opgenomen bandgedeelte op te zoeken
vóór u de volgende video-opnamen gaat
maken, als tussendoor een van de volgende
handelingen is verricht:
– uitnemen van de cassette na of tussen het
opnemen door;
– afspelen van de videocassette in een
videorecorder;
– gebruik van de montagezoekfunctie.
Als er een blanco gedeelte op de videocassette
open is gebleven, kunt u die cassette beter
opnieuw opnemen en daarbij het bovenstaande
in acht nemen.
Hetzelfde probleem kan zich voordoen als u
nieuwe opnamen maakt met een digitale
camcorder zonder cassettegeheugenfunctie op
een band waarop al eerder was opgenomen mét
de cassettegeheugenfunctie.

teken bedraagt 4 kilobytes. Uw camcorder
is geschikt voor videocassettes tot een
geheugencapaciteit van 16 kilobytes. Een 16-
kilobyte videocassette draagt het teken .
