• Place bread into bread slots and press the
lever down until it locks into position.
Note: The lever will not lock into position if the
toaster is not plugged into a power outlet or if
the power outlet is not switched on.
• When toasting is complete, the toast will pop-
up and the toaster will switch off automatically.
CLEANING
• Before cleaning ensure power is switched off
at mains and plug has been removed.
• Wait until your toaster has cooled down
completely before cleaning.
• Clean the outer surface with a soft damp cloth
only.
• It is important that crumbs are not allowed to
build up inside the base or the toaster.
• Crumbs can be removed by simply sliding out
the crumb tray at the bottom of the toaster. You
can then tip the crumbs out.
USEFUL INFORMATION
• Toasting the bread is a process of drying and
cooking. Cooking time will vary depending on
the moisture levels and thickness of the bread.
• Drier bread will probably need a lower setting
than normal.
• Fresh or whole wheat bread will need a higher
setting than normal and uncut or uneven
bread.Thickercutbread,mufnsorcrumpets
will take longer to toast since they may have
more moisture to be evaporated before
browning and may need to be toasted twice.
Again lower the browning control and keep a
careful eye on the toaster to ensure that the
toast does not burn.
• Remove any loose fruit or bread particles
before toasting to prevent pieces falling into
the toaster or sticking to the heating elements
or the guard wire.
• When toasting a single slice set the browning
control to a lighter setting than normal as the
toaster is designed to heat the two toasting
slots.
CAUTION
• Never force foods into toasting slot. Foods
shouldtfreelybetweentheguardwires.
• Do not toast buttered bread.
• Uneven toasting is usually due to bread slices
of uneven thickness.
• Never touch the internal parts of the toaster
with a brush or with any other implement.
• Bread may burn. Therefore toasters must
not be used near or below curtains and other
combustible fuels must not be used with this
appliance.
