4. INSTALLATION AND CONNECTION
4.1 Choice of location
Always locate the fridge freezer in a dry, sufficiently ventilated area. Ensure that it is not directly
exposed to the sun's rays and do not locate it outside (for example: an unheated room or a balcony).
Do not cover the ventilation slots on the upper part: good air circulation must be maintained inside the
appliance. There must be a distance of at least 10 cm between the upper part of the body of the
appliance and any furniture unit placed above it (Fig. 1). Do not locate the fridge freezer near a heat
source. If this is unavoidable, in order to prevent the proper operation of the product from being
compromised, a suitable insulation board must be used. Otherwise, locate the appliance at least 3 cm
away from electrical or gas cookers and at least 30 cm away from combustion heaters or radiators. If this
requirement is not observed the appliance will consume more electricity and its compressor may
overheat.
If the appliance in positioned in a corner, a space of at least 1 cm must be left between the body of the
appliance and the wall, so that the door of the freezer compartment (1) can be opened enough to allow
the freezer drawer (2) to be pulled out (see Fig. 1).
The appliance must be placed on a flat surface and must not be in contact with the wall.
Depending on the climate class to which it belongs (indicated on the identification plate inside the
fridge), the appliance can be used in various temperature conditions:
Class Room temperature
SN (Subnormal) from + 10°C to + 32°C
N (Normal) from + 16°C to + 32°C
ST (Subtropical) from + 18°C to + 38°C
T (Tropical) from + 18°C to + 43°C
Take care when installing the appliance on parquet or linoleum to avoid scratching or otherwise
damaging the floor. If necessary, when positioning the fridge freezer, use pieces of wood or carpet to
slide it to the appropriate point for connection to the power grid.
