DVB-T-Lexikon – Erläuterungen der Fachbegriffe
Digitalempfang:
Die digitale Übertragungstechnik wird die bisherige analoge Technik bis zum Jahr 2010 abgelöst haben.
DVB:
DVB ist die Abkürzung für Digital Video Broadcast.
EPG:
EPG bedeutet Electronic Program Guide. Das EPG ist eine „Elektronische Programmübersicht“, die
Informatio nen zu laufenden und späteren Sendungen anzeigen kann.
FEC:
Forward Error Correction ist eine Fehlerkorrektur – ähn lich wie bei einem CD-Player – die aus einem
gestörten oder schwachen Signal ein (möglichst) fehlerfreies Signal errech net.
Frequenz:
1 Hertz = 1 Schwingung pro Sekunde. Im Bereich der Radio- und Fernsehübertragung „schwingt“ die
Träger frequenz eines Kanals von ca. 47 Millionen bis weit über 800 Millionen mal pro Sekunde.
HDMI:
Über den digitalen HDMI-Ausgang erhalten Sie die optimale digitale Bild- und Tonqualität.
Modulation:
Funksignale müssen – um übertragen zu werden – „moduliert“ werden. Im analogen Bereich heißen
die Modulationsarten AM (z.B Mittelwelle oder TV-Bild) oder FM (UKW oder TV-Ton). QAM ist die
Modulationsart für digitale Signale.
MPEG:
Moving Picture Experts Group. Es gibt – je nach Ver wen dungszweck – unterschiedliche MPEG-
Standards, die alle einen Zweck erfüllen: Grosse Datenmengen (Bild und Ton) zu komprimieren –
möglichst ohne sicht- und hörbaren Qualitätsverlust.
OSD:
On Screen Display. Das OSD ist das Bildschirmmenü des Receivers. Über das OSD können Sie
Informationen über Programme aufrufen oder die Einstellungen Ihres Recei vers verändern.
QAM:

Scart:
21-polige Steckernorm zur bidirektionalen Bild- und Ton übertragung. Zusätzlich werden
Schaltspannungen weiter geleitet, die z.B. den Fernseher umschalten. Für den Betrieb Ihres
DVB-T-Receivers ist ein 10-poliges Scart-Kabel ausreichend.
