Radio
Using the system
Switch between wavebands
›
Press the button
RADIO
for longer.
Your radio is equipped with FM and AM wavebands. These are divided in 6 memo-
ry levels, i.e. 3 levels for FM and 3 levels for AM. On each of these levels there are
6 memory slots available.
Activation of the FM waveband
Activate the FM waveband by pressing the
RADIO
button for a long time, followed
by the FM

selection button. By briefly pressing the
RADIO
button, you can
switch between the memory levels FM1, FM2 and FM3.
Activation of the AM waveband
Activate the AM waveband by pressing the
RADIO
button for a long time, followed
by the AM
12
button. By briefly pressing the
RADIO
button, you can switch be-
tween the memory levels AM1, AM2 and AM3.
Searching for and storing radio stations
Manual search

Set the frequency of the desired radio station by turning the settings knob

Store station
›
After selecting the radio station, press the selection button

, on which the
station should be stored and hold it pressed in until the radio station briefly
switches to mute and a brief signal sounds.
Automatic station finding with storing the radio stations

Press the button
AS
. An automatic station finding is started during which the 6
stations with the strongest signal in the memory level FM3 and/or AM3 are stor-
ed.
When the process of storing the radio stations on the selection buttons

is com-
plete, you can press any selection button
12
to call up the desired radio station.
Note
The stored radio stations of the current waveband are updated and stored once
again in the memory level FM3 and/or AM3 by repeatedly pressing the button
AS
.
Function SCAN
The stations of a waveband can be played briefly one after the other (for ten sec-
onds).

When pressing the settings knob

, the radio automatically searches all availa-
ble stations of the current waveband.

To call up the original radio station, press the selection button CANCEL

.

The automatic station search is terminated by pressing the function button OK

. The current radio station remains selected.

To choose other radio stations, press the selection button SKIP
12
.
RDS Function
Certain radio stations transmit additional text information - designated as radio
text.

The information of the radio text is displayed by pressing the button
INFO
.
Note

The text information must not be available to all radio stations.
■
Depending upon the quality of the received signal, the radio needs a specific
time, in order to correctly read all the illustrated characters.
Traffic information function
Activating/deactivating traffic reports
Press the
TP
button, and TP will be displayed. If a set radio station does not
transmit traffic reports, the radio searches for a station that does.
An incoming traffic report will automatically interrupt CD playback. At the end of
the traffic report, the radio automatically returns to the original play function.
The traffic information function is turned off by pressing the
TP
button again and
the TP symbol goes out.
