Scallop stitch
This stitch pattern
is used to decorate
edges.
Place strips of tear-away type
stabilizer under fabric edge. Sew
scallop stitches close to the edge.
Tear away the excess stabilizer and
trim outer edge of scallops taking
care not to cut into the stitching.
Patch work
With pattern stitches, fabrics can be joined together.
This stitch technique is useful to join small pieces of fabric to make small
articles or interior ornaments.
Sew selected pattern stitch
on right side to extend over
both pieces of fabric center-
ing seamline.
Sew selected pattern centering
over seam line.
