Model RS-12 Microphone coiled cord has completely dis-integrated as the black plastic/rubberized coating of the internal cord wires peeled off. The radio is kept in a weather proof compartment and not exposed to elements. Poor quality of the microphone coiled cord.

Can a replacement microphone cord be attached by user ? Is it necessary to get marine electronics to install new cord ?

Can you advise availability of replacement cord please.
