Starting Up the Device
• Before starting up the device, make certain that...
– the device, plug and power cable are in good
working order and...
– all packaging materials have been removed
from the device.
• Fill the device with water up to the MAX mark
and let it come to a full boil once as described in
the next section. Pour out this water.

near water – life-threatening danger!

For safety reasons, the lid

be opened while the water is boiling or is
very hot. Otherwise there is a risk of

You should only heat as much water as you need
directly. That helps you save electricity, water and
time:
• Lift away the kettle ufor filling!
• Open the lid qby pressing down on the unlok-
king button w.
• Hold the kettle uvertically while filling. Only
then will the level indicator ion the side
correctly indicate the water volume.

temperature controller yto the MAX position.
• Now insert the power plug into the power
socket and press the ON/OFF switch edown

• The operating light rindicates that the device is
now heating up.

operating light rgoes out as soon as the water
is at a full boil. The ON/OFF switch esprings
out.
