1/2 sachet baking powder
250 g sugar
200 g butter or margarine
500 g plain flour
300 ml milk
125 ml carbonated mineral water
Preparation
1. Separate the eggs.
2. Beat the egg whites until stiff and put in
a cool place.
3. Cream butter and sugar.
4. Gradually stir in the egg yolks, milk and
mineral water.
5. Mix flour and baking powder and add
to the mixture gradually.
6. Stir in vanilla sugar.
7. Fold in the stiffly-beaten egg whites and
leave batter to stand for approx.
30 minutes.
8. Cook waffles (see “6. Make waffles” on
page 39).
