Information about these operating instructions

Congratulations on the purchase of your new device.

You have selected a high-quality product. The operating instructions are part of

this product. They contain important information about safety, usage and

disposal. Before using the product, please familiarise yourself with all operating

and safety instructions. Use the product only as described and for the range of

applications speciﬁed. Retain these operating instructions for future reference.

Please also pass on these operating instructions to any future owner.

cluding in the form of extracts, or any reproduction of images (even in a modiﬁed

SilverCrest trademark and the retail name are the property of their respective

owner.

Intended use

This device is a consumer electronics device designed for the reception of FM

radio programmes, as a kitchen timer and as an alarm by means of an alarm

tone or radio. It is intended only for indoor use. The device is intended to be set

up as a free-standing unit or to be installed under a wall cupboard. To do so,

the integrated adjustable foot or the mounting plate must be used. The device

is not intended for any other purpose, nor for use beyond the scope described.

The device is not intended for use in commercial or industrial environments. The

manufacturer accepts no responsibility for damage caused by failure to observe

these instructions, improper use or repairs, unauthorised modiﬁcations or the use

of unapproved replacement parts. The risk is borne solely by the user.

Safety

This section contains important safety instructions for handling the device. This

device complies with statutory safety regulations. Improper use may result in

personal injury and property damage.

Risk of electrocution

Contact with live cables or components can result in a fatal

injury!

Comply with the following safety information in order to avoid the hazard from

electrical current:

► Do not use the device if the mains power plug or the mains cable is dam-

aged.

► When disconnecting the device from the mains supply, always pull on the

plug and never on the cable.

► Never touch the mains plug or the device with wet hands.

► The device housing must not be opened under any circumstances. Touching

live connections or making modiﬁcations to the electrical or mechanical

assembly can lead to a risk of electrocution and ﬁre.

► Do not insert any objects into the ventilation slots or other openings on the

device.

DANGER

► The device consumes power in standby mode. To completely disconnect

the device from the mains power, the power plug must be removed from

the mains power socket. The device must be positioned so that you have

unrestricted access to the mains socket at all times and can pull out the plug

immediately in an emergency.

Battery information

DANGER

Risk of injury if batteries are handled incorrectly!

► Keep batteries out of the reach of children. Children might put batteries

into their mouths and swallow them. If a battery has been swallowed, seek

medical assistance immediately.

► Do not throw batteries into a ﬁre. Never expose batteries to high tempera-

tures.

► Explosion hazard! Do not charge batteries unless they are explicitly

labelled as "rechargeable".

► Do not open the batteries or short-circuit them.

► Do not mix diﬀerent types of batteries. Empty batteries should be removed

because of the increased risk of leakage. The batteries should also be

removed from the device if it is not being used for long periods.

► Battery acid leaking from a battery can cause skin irritation. If it contacts

your skin, rinse oﬀ with plenty of water. If the liquid comes into contact with

your eyes, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water, do not rub and consult a

doctor immediately.

► The section entitled "Inserting batteries" describes how to insert and remove

batteries correctly.

Basic safety instructions

To ensure safe operation of the device, follow the safety guidelines set out

below:

■ This device may be used by children aged 8 years and above and by

persons with limited physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of ex-

perience and knowledge, provided that they are under supervision or have

been told how to use the device safely and are aware of the potential risks.

Do not allow children to play with the device. Cleaning and user mainte-

nance tasks may not be carried out by children unless they are supervised.

■ Check the device for visible external damage before use. Do not operate a

device that has been damaged or dropped.

■ If the cables or connections are damaged, have them replaced by authorised

specialists or Customer Service.

■ Keep the power cable away from hot surfaces and sharp edges. Ensure that

the power cable is not stretched tightly or kinked. Do not allow the cable to

dangle over edges (tripwire eﬀect).

■ All repairs must be carried out by authorised specialist companies or

Customer Service. Improper repairs may put the user at risk. It will also

invalidate any warranty claims.

■ Defective components must always be replaced with original replacement

parts. It is ensured only for these parts that they fulﬁl the safety requirements.

■ Do not make any unauthorised modiﬁcations or alterations to the device.

■ Always place the device on a stable and level surface. It can be damaged

if dropped.

■ Do not expose the device to direct sunlight or high temperatures.

Otherwise it may overheat and be irreparably damaged.

■ Be sure to provide suﬃcient air circulation to avoid a heat build-up.

Never cover the device. There is a ﬁre hazard!

■ Do not place the product near heat sources such as radiators or other

heat-generating devices.

■ Keep the device away from open ﬂames (e.g. candles) at all times.

■ The device is not designed for use in rooms with high temperature or humidity

(e.g. bathrooms) or excessive dust.

■ Protect the device from spray or dripping water. Never submerge the device

in water, do not place the device near water and do not place any object

ﬁlled with liquid (e.g. vases) on top of the device.

■ If you notice a burning smell or smoke, pull out the plug from the mains

socket immediately and remove the batteries.

■ In the event of malfunctions and thunderstorms, disconnect the plug from the

mains socket.

Disposal of packaging

The packaging protects the device from damage during transport. The packaging

materials have been selected for aspects of environmental friendliness and

disposal, and they are therefore recyclable.

Returning the packaging to the material cycle conserves raw materials and

reduces the amount of waste that is generated. Dispose of packaging materials

that are no longer needed in accordance with applicable local regulations.

Dispose of the packaging in an environmentally friendly manner.

Note the labelling on the packaging and separate the packaging material

components for disposal if necessary. The packaging material is labelled with

abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with the following meanings:

1–7: plastics,

20–22: paper and cardboard,

80–98: composites

NOTE

► If possible, keep the original packaging for the complete warranty period

of the device so that the device can be packaged properly for return ship-

ment in the event of a warranty claim.

Requirements for the set-up location

For the safe and trouble-free operation of the device, the set-up location must

fulﬁl the following requirements:

■ When setting up the device, place it on a ﬁrm, ﬂat and horizontal surface.

Use the fold-out adjustable foot

■ The surfaces of some items of furniture might contain components that can

corrode and soften the rubber feet of the device. If necessary, place a mat

under the device’s rubber feet.

■ Set up or mount the device in such a way that the provided ventilation

openings and speakers

s are not covered.

■ Do not operate the device in a hot, wet or extremely damp environment or

in the vicinity of ﬂammable materials.

■ The mounting location must be selected so that the device is not exposed

to vapours. Do not install the device directly over a hotplate.

■ The mains socket must be easily accessible so that the plug can be easily

pulled out in an emergency.

Installation under a wall cupboard

Using the supplied mounting plate u, you can install the device e.g. under a

wall cupboard. Proceed as follows to mount the device:

♦ Slide the mounting plate

u to the rear and remove it from the device.

♦ Find a suitable installation location for the device (see also the section

"Requirements for the set-up location").

♦ Hold the mounting plate

u under the installation location. Ensure that the

front edge of the mounting plate u is approx. 3.1cm behind the front of

the cupboard so that the device is ﬂush with the cupboard after installation.

The side edges of the mounting plate u must be spaced approx. 6.3cm

away from adjacent cabinets or walls.

♦ Mark the 4 mounting points with a pencil.

♦ Using a pin or nail, make a small depression at the respective marking

points. In hardwoods, drill a shallow hole in the markings using a ∅ 2.5 mm

wood drill bit.

♦ If required, place the supplied spacers

f between the cupboard and the

mounting plate. If you are using the spacers provided f, you will need the

long mounting screws g.

♦ Screw the mounting plate u tight using the mounting screws provided (g

or h).

♦ With the top of the device against the mounting plate u, push the device

back until it clicks into place.

♦ Check to ensure that the device is ﬁrmly in position and safely route the

power cable

o and the wire aerial i.

Dismantling

♦ Pull the device forwards oﬀ the mounting plate u.

♦ Unscrew the screws (

g or h) on the mounting plate and remove the

mounting plate

u from the wall cupboard.

Setting up the device

You can also set up the device on a level surface. So as not to cover the venti-

lation slots and speakers

s on the bottom of the device, you must fold out the

adjustable foot p of the device:

♦ Reach into the recess on the side of the adjustable foot

p and pull it out as

far as it will go.

♦ Select a suitable location for the device (also see the section "Set-up location

requirements").

Connecting the power supply

CAUTION

► Before connecting the device, compare the connection data (voltage and

frequency) on the rating plate on the rear of the device with that of your

electric supply. This data must agree so that the device is not damaged.

♦ Insert the plug into a mains power socket. The device starts an automatic

station search and saves the stations that can be received in the max.

30 preset slots. After the station search, the

display (RDS - radio data

system) ﬂashes brieﬂy on the display. If there is a suitably strong RDS signal,

the time and date will be set automatically. If the RDS signal is too weak,

the time display ( ) will appear on the display 4 and the time and

date must be set manually.

Inserting batteries

You can prevent the programmed time, preset stations and alarm times from

being lost in the event of a power failure by inserting 2 x 1.5V batteries (type

AA/Mignon/LR6). The batteries ensure that the internal clock continues to run

even during a power failure. The display 4 will go out, however. When power

is restored, the correct time automatically appears on the display 4.

NOTE

► The device can also only be operated using the mains power connection

without batteries. Operation using the batteries only is not possible.

► If there is a power failure and no charged batteries are in the battery

compartment

d, all the settings you have carried out will be reset.

♦ Open the battery compartment cover

d on the bottom of the device.

♦ Insert 2 x 1.5V batteries of the type AA/Mignon/LR6 (not included in the

product) into the battery compartment

d. When doing so, note the

polarity signs in the battery compartment

♦ Then close the battery compartment

d by replacing the cover and clicking

it into place.

♦ Completely unwind the wire aerial i for FM radio reception.

Handling and operation

Making basic settings

Requirement: The device is in clock/standby mode.

NOTE

► If there is a suitably strong RDS signal (radio data system), the time and

date will be set automatically. Neither an adjustment of summer/winter time

is made automatically by the RDS nor does the station name appear on the

display

► Make the settings quickly. If you do not press a button for 15 seconds,

the entry will be cancelled. All settings made up to this point are saved

automatically.

♦ Press the

button 0 for about 2 seconds. The symbol for the 24-hour

format ( ) ﬂashes on the display 4.

♦ Turn the −TIMER+ dial 8 to the right or left to switch between 24-hour

( ) and 12-hour format ( ).

NOTE

► If the 12-hour format (

) is set, PM appears in the upper left of the display

4 from 12:00 PM until 11:59 PM. From 12:00 PM to 11:59 AM, nothing

appears on the display 4.

♦ Press the

0 button to accept the setting. The hour ﬂashes on the display 4.

♦ Turn the −TIMER+ dial 8 left or right to set the hours.

♦ Press the 0 button to accept the setting. The minutes ﬂash on the display 4.

♦ Turn the −TIMER+ dial

8 dial left or right to set the minutes.

♦ Press the 0 button to accept the setting. The year date display ﬂashes

on the display 4.

♦ Turn the −TIMER+ dial 8 left or right to set the year.

♦ Press the

0 button to accept the setting. The month date display ﬂashes

on the display 4.

♦ Turn the −TIMER+ dial 8 left or right to set the month.

♦ Press the 0 button to accept the setting. The day date display ﬂashes

on the display 4.

♦ Turn the −TIMER+ dial

8 left or right to set the day.

♦ Press the

0 button to accept the setting. (RDS - radio data system)

ﬂashes in the display

♦ Turn the −TIMER+ dial 8 left or right to turn the RDS function (On) or

(Oﬀ). When the RDS function is turned on the signal is strong enough,

the time and date is corrected automatically if necessary.

♦ Press the 0 button to accept the setting. DT (Display Dimmer) ﬂashes on

the display 4.

♦ Turn the −TIMER+ dial

8 left or right to turn the display dimmer (Oﬀ)

or (On). When the display dimmer is turned on, the display illumination

is deactivated between 23:00 and 05:00. This switch-oﬀ time is pro-

grammed permanently and cannot be changed.

♦ Press the 0 button to accept the setting. The time, date and, if applicable,

DT and appear on the display 4. Push the −TIMER+ dial 8 to show

the year on the display 4. The display will automatically jump back to time

after around 5 seconds.

Set alarm

Requirement: The device is in clock/standby mode.

The device has two alarm functions. For both functions, you can programme an

alarm sound

or playback of the last selected radio station or

at a certain time.

The alarm time and alarm type are shown below left on the display

♦ Press the

MEM button z or the

AMS button e for about

2 seconds. The hour ﬂashes on the display 4.

♦ Turn the −TIMER+ dial 8 left or right to set the hours.

♦ Press the

MEM button z or the

AMS button e to save the

setting. The minutes ﬂash on the display

♦ Turn the −TIMER+ dial 8 left or right to set the minutes.

♦ Press the

MEM button z or the

AMS button e to save the

setting. (Oﬀ) ﬂashes on the display 4.

♦ Turn the −TIMER+ dial

8 to the right to set the alarm type to alarm

or alarm .

♦ Turn the −TIMER+ dial 8 to the right again to set the alarm type to radio

or radio .

♦ Press the

MEM button z or the

AMS button e to accept the

selected alarm type.

NOTE

► Press the

MEM button z or the

AMS button e to show the

alarm time for a few seconds in the display 4.

► In the event of a power failure, any programmed alarm times will be deac-

tivated and not reactivated when the power comes back if no batteries are

inserted in the battery compartment

Interrupt alarm (SNOOZE function)

♦ You can interrupt the alarm for 9 minutes by using the SNOOZE function. To

do this, press the SNOOZE

SLEEP button t as soon as the alarm sounds.

If the SNOOZE function is active, either or or or ﬂashes in

the display 4 depending on the alarm type which has been set.

Switching oﬀ the alarm

♦ While the alarm is sounding, press either the

MEM button z or the

AMS button e or the −VOLUME+ | /FUNC. dial 1 to switch oﬀ

the alarm for 24 hours.

NOTE

► If the alarm is not manually deactivated, the device will switch oﬀ the alarm

automatically after 1 hour.

Switching the alarm oﬀ completely

Requirement: The device is in clock/standby mode.

♦ To switch oﬀ Alarm 1 or Alarm 2 completely, press the

MEM button

z or the

AMS button e for about 2 seconds until the alarm time

hours ﬂash in the display 4.

♦ Press the

MEM button z or the

AMS button e until the alarm

type or or or ﬂash in the display 4.

♦ Turn the −TIMER+ dial

8 to the right to set the alarm type to (Oﬀ).

♦ Press the

MEM button z or the

AMS button e to save the

setting.

Switching the radio mode on/oﬀ

NOTE

► The technical features of this device enable an adjustable reception capa-

bility that exceeds the permitted FM frequency range of 87.5–108MHz.

In some countries, diﬀerent national regulations may apply to the assigned

radio frequency ranges. Please note that information received outside of the

assigned radio frequency ranges may not be exploited, passed on to third

parties or otherwise misused.

♦ Brieﬂy press the −VOLUME+ |

/FUNC.dial 1 to switch the device on.

♦ If required, brieﬂy press the −VOLUME+ | /FUNC.dial 1 until FM for

radio operation is shown in the display 4.

♦ Press the −VOLUME+ |

/FUNC. 1 dial for around 2 seconds to switch

the device oﬀ and set it to Time/Standby operation.

Adjusting the volume

♦ Turn the −VOLUME+ | /FUNC. dial 1 to the right to increase the

volume.

♦ Turn the −VOLUME+ | /FUNC. dial 1 to the left to decrease the

volume.

NOTE

► The set volume will be shown on the display

4 for around 3 seconds as a

value between  (mute) and  (maximum volume).

Search for a station

♦ Press the SEARCH + button 9 for around 2 seconds to jump to the next

station which can be received with a higher frequency.

♦ Press the SEARCH −

w button for around 2 seconds to jump to the next

station which can be received with a lower frequency.

NOTE

► The station frequency is shown on the display

4 and the speakers s are

switched oﬀ during the station search. If a station broadcasting in stereo is

being received, ST appears on the display 4.

Manual station selection

♦ Press the SEARCH + button 9 or the SEARCH − button w during radio

operation to search for a frequency in 0.1 MHz stages.

NOTE

► The station frequency is shown on the display

4. If a station broadcasting

in stereo is being received, ST appears on the display 4.

Saving stations manually

♦ Press the SEARCH + button 9 or the SEARCH − button w during radio

operation to search for a receivable radio station or a frequency.

♦ Press the

MEM button z for around 2 seconds. The current memory

slot, e.g. 3 ﬂashes in the display

♦ Press the PRESET + button

7 or the PRESET − button 6 to select the

required memory slot.

♦ Press the

MEM button z to save the station in the selected memory

slot.

Receiving stations in mono

♦ If you would like to receive a station in mono, press and hold the

ST/

MO button

q for around 2 seconds until 4 ST for stereo reception goes

out in the display.

NOTE

► ST is only displayed if the station can actually be received in stereo.

♦ If you would like to switch back to stereo reception, press and hold the

ST/MO button q again for around 2 seconds until ST for stereo

reception is shown in the display

Kitchen timer

The device has a practical kitchen timer with which you can monitor cooking and

baking times, for example. You can set 2 kitchen timers.

Setting and operating the kitchen timer

♦ Turn the −TIMER+ 8 dial right or left to set Timer 1. ﬂashes in the

display 4.

NOTE

► Timer 1 can be set in steps of 1 minute from 1 minute up to 3 hours

59 minutes. If you set the countdown to between 1 minute and 4 minutes,

the time is shown as "mm:ss". If you set the countdown to 5 minutes or

more, the time will be shown as "hh:mm".

► If no change is made to the setting for about 15 seconds, the device will

switch back to the previous operating mode without saving the settings.

♦ Press the −TIMER+ dial

8 to accept the setting. The display lights up

and the countdown for Timer 1 starts immediately.

♦ Press the button 3 to set Timer 2. ﬂashes in the display 4.

NOTE

► Timer 2 can be set in steps of 5 minutes from 5 minutes up to 3 hours

55 minutes. The time is given as "hh:mm".

► If no change is made to the setting for about 15 seconds, the device will

switch back to the previous operating mode without saving the settings.

♦ Press the −TIMER+ dial

8 to accept the setting. The display lights up

and the countdown for Timer 2 starts immediately.

♦ The countdown for Timer 1 and Timer 2 gives a warning beep at 30, 15,

10 and 5 seconds before expiry to indicate the alarm time.

Cancelling the kitchen timer

♦ If only Timer 1 or Timer 2 is set, brieﬂy press the button 2 or the but-

ton 3 twice to cancel Timer 1 or Timer 2. The or display goes out.

Alternatively, you can press the −TIMER+ dial 8 for around 2 seconds.

♦ If Timer 1 and Timer 2 are set, brieﬂy press the button 2 and the

button 3 twice each. and will go out. Alternatively, you can

press the −TIMER+ 8 dial for around 2 seconds to cancel the selected

timer.

Automatic switch-oﬀ (SLEEP function)

You can use this function to automatically switch the device oﬀ after 10–120

minutes.

♦ Brieﬂy press the SNOOZE

Connecting external playback devices (AUX)

You can connect an external playback device, such as an MP3 player or a

smartphone, to the AUX input 5 to use it as a playback source for the kitchen

radio.

NOTE

► Switch the kitchen radio and the external playback device oﬀ before con-

necting them. Note also the operating instructions for the device that you

want to connect to the kitchen radio.

To connect external playback devices, you will need an audio cable (not supplied)

with a 3.5 mm Ø jack plug for the AUX input

5 on the kitchen radio. The type

of plug on the other end of the audio cable will depend on the audio output of

the external playback device.

♦ Connect the plug on the audio cable to the audio output on the external

playback device and the AUX input

5 on the kitchen radio.

♦ Press the −VOLUME+ |

/FUNC. 1 dial to switch on the kitchen radio.

♦ If required, brieﬂy press the −VOLUME+ |

Disposal of the device

The symbol shown on the left of a crossed-out wheelie bin means that this device

is subject to Directive 2012/19/EU. This directive states that this device may not

be disposed of in normal household waste at the end of its useful life, but must

be taken to a specially set-up collection point, recycling depot or disposal

company.

This disposal is free of charge for the user. Protect the environ-

Disposing of the batteries

This appliance has a 3-year warranty valid from the date of purchase. If this product

has any faults, you, the buyer, have certain statutory rights. Your statutory rights

are not restricted in any way by the warranty described below.

Warranty conditions

The validity period of the warranty starts from the date of purchase. Please keep

your original receipt in a safe place. This document will be required as proof of

purchase.

If any material or production fault occurs within three years of the date of purchase

of the product, we will either repair or replace the product for you at our discretion.

This warranty service is dependent on you presenting the defective appliance

and the proof of purchase (receipt) and a short written description of the fault

and its time of occurrence.

If the defect is covered by the warranty, your product will either be repaired or

replaced by us. The repair or replacement of a product does not signify the begin-

ning of a new warranty period.

Warranty period and statutory claims for defects

The warranty period is not prolonged by repairs eﬀected under the warranty.

This also applies to replaced and repaired components. Any damage and defects

present at the time of purchase must be reported immediately after unpacking.

Repairs carried out after expiry of the warranty period shall be subject to a fee.

Scope of the warranty

von UKW-Radioprogrammen, als Küchentimer, zum Alarmgeben durch Alarmton

► Benutzen Sie das Gerät nicht, wenn der Netzstecker oder das Netzkabel

beschädigt sind.

► Ziehen Sie das Netzkabel immer am Netzstecker aus der Steckdose,

niemals am Kabel.

► Fassen Sie den Netzstecker oder das Gerät niemals mit nassen Händen an.

► Öﬀnen Sie auf keinen Fall das Gehäuse des Gerätes. Werden spannungs-

führende Anschlüsse berührt und der elektrische und mechanische Aufbau

verändert, besteht Stromschlag- und Brandgefahr.

► Führen Sie keine Gegenstände in die Lüftungsschlitze oder andere Öﬀnun-

gen des Gerätes ein.

► Das Gerät nimmt im Standby-Betrieb Strom auf. Um das Gerät vollständig

vom Netz zu trennen, muss der Netzstecker aus der Netzsteckdose

gezogen werden. Daher muss das Gerät so aufgestellt werden, dass stets

ein unbehin derter Zugang zur Netzsteckdose gewährleistet ist, damit in

Notsituationen der Netzstecker sofort abgezogen werden kann.

Batteriehinweise

GEFAHR

Verletzungsgefahr durch falschen Umgang mit Batterien!

► Batterien dürfen nicht in die Hände von Kindern gelangen. Kinder könnten

Batterien in den Mund nehmen und verschlucken. Wurde eine Batterie

verschluckt, muss sofort medizinische Hilfe in Anspruch genommen werden.

► Batterien nicht ins Feuer werfen. Batterien keinen hohen Temperaturen

aussetzen.

► Explosionsgefahr! Nur als „auﬂadbar“ gekennzeichnete Batterien dürfen

wieder aufgeladen werden.

► Batterien nicht öﬀnen oder kurzschließen.

► Unterschiedliche Batterietypen dürfen nicht gemischt eingesetzt werden.

Leere Batterien sollten wegen des erhöhten Auslaufrisikos entnommen

werden. Auch bei Nichtgebrauch des Gerätes sollten die Batterien aus

dem Gerät entnommen werden.

► Batteriesäure, die aus einer Batterie austritt, kann zu Hautreizungen führen.

Bei Hautkontakt mit viel Wasser abspülen. Wenn die Flüssigkeit in die Augen

gelangt ist, gründlich mit viel Wasser ausspülen, nicht reiben und sofort

einen Arzt aufsuchen.

► Wie Sie die Batterien in das Gerät einsetzen und wieder herausnehmen

erfahren Sie im Kapitel „Batterien einlegen“.

Grundlegende Sicherheitshinweise

Beachten Sie für einen sicheren Umgang mit dem Gerät die folgenden Sicher-

heitshinweise:

■ Kontrollieren Sie das Gerät vor der Verwendung auf äußere sichtbare Schäden.

Nehmen Sie ein beschädigtes oder heruntergefallenes Gerät nicht in Betrieb.

■ Bei Beschädigung der Kabel oder Anschlüsse lassen Sie diese von autori-

siertem Fachpersonal oder dem Kundenservice austauschen.

■ Schützen Sie das Anschlusskabel vor heißen Oberﬂächen und scharfen

Kanten. Achten Sie darauf, dass das Anschlusskabel nicht straﬀ gespannt

oder geknickt wird. Lassen Sie das Anschlusskabel nicht über Ecken hängen

(Stolperdrahteﬀekt).

■ Lassen Sie Reparaturen am Gerät nur von autorisierten Fachbetrieben oder

dem Kundenservice durchführen. Durch unsachgemäße Reparaturen können

Gefahren für den Benutzer entstehen. Zudem erlischt der Garantieanspruch.

■ Defekte Bauteile dürfen nur gegen Original-Ersatzteile ausgetauscht werden.

Nur bei diesen Teilen ist gewährleistet, dass sie die Sicherheitsanforderungen

erfüllen.

■ Nehmen Sie keine eigenmächtigen Umbauten oder Veränderungen an dem

Gerät vor.

■ Stellen Sie das Gerät immer auf eine stabile und gerade Fläche. Bei Stürzen

■ Wenn Sie am Gerät Brandgeruch oder Rauchentwicklung feststellen, ziehen

Lieferumfang und Transportinspektion

GEFAHR

► Verpackungsmaterialien dürfen nicht von Kindern zum Spielen verwendet

werden. Es besteht Erstickungsgefahr.

♦ Entnehmen Sie alle Teile des Gerätes und die Bedienungsanleitung aus dem

Karton.

♦ Entfernen Sie sämtliches Verpackungsmaterial vom Gerät.

Bitte prüfen Sie den Lieferumfang (siehe Ausklappseite). Der Lieferumfang besteht

Verpackung entsorgen

Die Verpackung schützt das Gerät vor Transportschäden. Die Verpackungs-

materialien sind nach umweltverträglichen und entsorgungstechnischen Gesichts-

punkten ausgewählt und deshalb recyclebar.

Die Rückführung der Verpackung in den Materialkreislauf spart Rohstoﬀe und

verringert das Abfallaufkommen. Entsorgen Sie nicht mehr benötigte Verpackungs-

materialien gemäß den örtlich geltenden Vorschriften.

Entsorgen Sie die Verpackung umweltgerecht.

Beachten Sie die Kennzeichnung auf den verschiedenen Verpackungsmaterialien

und trennen Sie diese gebenenfalls gesondert. Die Verpackungsmaterialien sind

gekennzeichnet mit Abkürzungen (a) und Ziﬀern (b) mit folgender Bedeutung:

1–7: Kunststoﬀe,

20–22: Papier und Pappe,

80–98: Verbundstoﬀe

HINWEIS

► Heben Sie wenn möglich die Originalverpackung während der Garantie-

zeit des Gerätes auf, um das Gerät im Garantiefall ordnungsgemäß

verpacken zu können.

Anforderungen an den Aufstellort

Für einen sicheren und fehlerfreien Betrieb des Gerätes muss der Aufstellort

folgende Voraussetzungen erfüllen:

■ Bei Aufstellung des Gerätes das Gerät auf eine feste, ﬂache und waage-

rechte Unterlage stellen. Verwenden Sie den ausklappbaren Stellfuß

■ Die Oberﬂächen von Möbeln enthalten möglicherweise Bestandteile, die

die Gummifüße des Gerätes angreifen und aufweichen können. Legen Sie

gegebenenfalls eine Unterlage unter die Gummifüße des Gerätes.

■ Das Gerät so aufstellen oder montieren, dass vorhandene Lüftungsöﬀnungen

und die Lautsprecher

s nicht verdeckt werden.

■ Betreiben Sie das Gerät nicht in einer heißen, nassen oder sehr feuchten

Umgebung oder in der Nähe von brennbarem Material.

■ Der Montageort muss so gewählt werden, dass keine Dampfschwaden das

Gerät erreichen können. Montieren Sie das Gerät nicht direkt über einer

Kochstelle.

■ Die Netzsteckdose muss leicht zugänglich sein, so dass der Netzstecker

notfalls leicht abgezogen werden kann.

Montage unter einem Hängeschrank

Sie können das Gerät mit der mitgelieferten Montageplatte u z.B. unter einem

Hängeschrank montieren. Zur Montage des Gerätes gehen Sie wie folgt vor:

♦ Schieben Sie die Montageplatte

u nach hinten und nehmen Sie sie vom Gerät

ab.

♦ Suchen Sie eine geeignete Anbaustelle für das Gerät aus (siehe auch Kapitel

„Anforderungen an den Aufstellort“).

♦ Halten Sie die Montageplatte

u unter die Anbaustelle. Dabei sollte sich

die Vorderkante der Montageplatte

u ca. 3,1cm hinter der Front des

Hängeschrankes beﬁnden, damit das Gerät nach der Montage bündig

mit dem Hängeschrank abschließt. Die Seitenkanten der Montageplatte

müssen einen Abstand von ca. 6,3cm zu angrenzenden Schränken oder

Wänden haben.

♦ Markieren Sie die 4 Befestigungspunkte mit einem Stift.

♦ Erzeugen Sie mit einem Dorn oder Nagel jeweils eine kleine Vertiefung

an den Markierungen. Bohren Sie bei Hartholz eine kleine Vertiefung mit

einem ∅ 2,5 mm Holzbohrer in die Markierungen.

♦ Setzen Sie wahlweise die mitgelieferten Abstandshalter

f zwischen Hänge-

schrank und der Montageplatte. Bei Verwendung der Abstandshalter

benötigen Sie die langen Befestigungsschrauben g.

♦ Schrauben Sie die Montageplatte u mit den mitgelieferten Befestigungsschrau-

ben (g oder h) fest.

♦ Schieben Sie das Gerät mit der Oberseite auf die Montageplatte u, bis es

hörbar einrastet.

♦ Prüfen Sie den sicheren Sitz des Gerätes und verlegen Sie das Netzkabel

und die Wurfantenne i sicher.

Demontage

♦ Ziehen Sie das Gerät nach vorne von der Montageplatte u ab.

♦ Drehen Sie die Befestigungsschrauben (

g oder h) an der Montageplatte

u heraus und nehmen Sie die Montageplatte u vom Hängeschrank ab.

Aufstellen des Gerätes

Sie können das Gerät alternativ auch aufstellen. Um bei der Aufstellung die Lüf-

tungsschlitze und die Lautsprecher s an der Geräteunterseite nicht zu verdecken,

muss der Stellfuß p des Gerätes ausgeklappt werden:

♦ Greifen Sie in die Mulde des Stellfußes

p und klappen Sie ihn bis zum

Anschlag aus.

♦ Suchen Sie einen geeigneten Aufstellort für das Gerät aus (siehe auch

Kapitel „Anforderungen an den Aufstellort“).

Stromversorgung herstellen

ACHTUNG

► Vergleichen Sie vor dem Anschließen des Gerätes die Anschlussdaten des

Gerätes (Spannung und Frequenz) auf dem Typenschild an der Geräteun-

terseite mit denen Ihres Stromnetzes. Diese Daten müssen übereinstimmen,

damit keine Schäden am Gerät auftreten.

♦ Stecken Sie den Netzstecker in eine Netzsteckdose. Das Gerät startet

einen automatischen Sendersuchlauf und speichert die empfangbaren

Sender auf den max. 30 belegbaren Speicherplätzen ab. Nachdem der

Sendersuchlauf abgeschlossen ist, blinkt für kurze Zeit die Anzeige

(RDS

- Radiodatensystem). Bei einem entsprechend guten RDS-Signal, werden

die Uhrzeit und das Datum automatisch eingestellt. Ist das RDS-Signal zu

schwach, erscheint im Display 4 die Zeitanzeige ( ) und die Uhrzeit und

das Datum müssen manuell eingestellt werden.

Batterien einlegen

Durch Einlegen von 2 x 1,5V Batterien (Typ AA/Mignon/LR6) vermeiden Sie,

dass bei einem möglichen Stromausfall die programmierte Uhrzeit, program-

mierte Speicherplätze und Alarmzeiten verloren gehen. Die Batterien bewirken,

dass die interne Uhr auch während des Stromausfalls weiterläuft. Das Display 4

erlischt allerdings. Bei Wiedereinschalten des Netzstroms erscheint im Display 4

automatisch die korrekte Zeit.

HINWEIS

► Das Gerät kann auch ohne Batterien nur über den Netzstromanschluss

betrieben werden. Ein Betrieb nur über die Batterien ist nicht möglich.

► Bei einem Stromausfall werden alle vorgenommenen Einstellungen zurück-

gesetzt, wenn sich im Batteriefach

d keine geladenen Batterien beﬁnden.

♦ Öﬀnen Sie die Abdeckung des Batteriefachs d an der Geräteunterseite.

♦ Legen Sie 2 x 1,5V Batterien vom Typ AA/Mignon/LR6 (nicht im Liefer-

umfang enthalten) in das Batteriefach

d ein. Beachten Sie dabei die

Kennzeichnung der Polarität im Batteriefach

Bedienung und Betrieb

Grundeinstellungen festlegen

Voraussetzung: Das Gerät beﬁndet sich in der Betriebsart Uhr/Standby-Betrieb.

HINWEIS

► Bei einem entsprechend guten RDS-Signal (Radiodatensystem), werden die

Uhrzeit und das Datum automatisch eingestellt. Eine automatische Anpas-

sung an die Sommer-/Winterzeit erfolgt nicht durch das RDS, sowie eine

Anzeige des Sendernamens nicht im Display

4 erscheint.

► Führen Sie die Einstellungen zügig durch. Die Eingabe wird nach ca.

15 Sekunden ohne Tastendruck abgebrochen. Bis dahin durchgeführte

Einstellungen werden automatisch gespeichert.

♦ Drücken Sie für ca. 2Sekunden die

-Taste 0. Im Display 4 blinkt die

Anzeige für die 24-Stundendarstellung ( ).

♦ Drehen Sie den Drehregler −TIMER+ 8 nach links oder rechts, um zwischen

der 24-Stundendarstellung ( ) und der 12-Stundendarstellung ( ) um-

zuschalten.

HINWEIS

► Wenn die 12-Stundendarstellung (

) eingestellt ist, erscheint ab 12:00

Dimmer eingeschaltet ist, ist die Displaybeleuchtung zwischen 23:00 Uhr

und 5:00 Uhr ausgeschaltet. Diese Abschaltzeit ist fest programmiert und

kann nicht verändert werden.

♦ Drücken Sie die

-Taste 0, um die Einstellung zu übernehmen. Im Display

4 erscheint die Uhrzeit, das Datum und ggf. die Anzeige DT und .

Durch Drücken des Drehreglers −TIMER+

8 wird das Jahr im Display 4

angezeigt. Nach ca. 5 Sekunden springt die Anzeige automatisch wieder

zur Uhrzeit zurück.

Alarm einstellen

Voraussetzung: Das Gerät beﬁndet sich in der Betriebsart Uhr/Standby-Betrieb.

Das Gerät verfügt über zwei Alarmfunktionen. Für beide Funktionen können Sie

jeweils einen Alarmton

bzw. oder die Wiedergabe des zuletzt gehörten

Radiosenders

bzw. zu einer bestimmten Uhrzeit programmieren.

Radiobetrieb ein-/ausschalten

HINWEIS

► Die technischen Gegebenheiten des Gerätes ermöglichen einen einstell-

baren Frequenzbereich außerhalb des zulässigen Bereiches von UKW (FM)

87,5–108MHz. In verschiedenen Ländern können abweichende nationale

Regelungen zu den zugewiesenen Rundfunkfrequenzbereichen bestehen.

Beachten Sie, dass Sie die außerhalb des zugewiesenen Rundfunkfrequenz-

bereiches empfangenen Informationen nicht verwerten, an Dritte weiterlei-

ten oder zweckentfremdet missbräuchlich verwenden dürfen.

♦ Drücken Sie kurz den Drehregler −VOLUME+ |

/FUNC. 1 zum Ein-

schalten des Gerätes.

♦ Drücken Sie ggf. einmal kurz den Drehregler −VOLUME+ |

/FUNC. 1,

bis im Display 4 FM für den Radiobetrieb angezeigt wird.

♦ Drücken Sie den Drehregler −VOLUME+ | /FUNC. 1 für ca. 2

Sekunden, um das Gerät auszuschalten und in den Uhr/Standby-Betrieb zu

versetzen.

Lautstärke einstellen

♦ Drehen Sie den Drehregler −VOLUME+ | /FUNC. 1 nach rechts, um

die Lautstärke zu erhöhen.

♦ Drehen Sie den Drehregler −VOLUME+ | /FUNC. 1 nach links, um die

Lautstärke zu verringern.

HINWEIS

► Im Display

4 wird die eingestellte Lautstärke für ca. 3 Sekunden mit einem

Wert zwischen  (Ton aus) und  (maximale Lautstärke) angezeigt.

Sender suchen

♦ Drücken Sie für ca. 2 Sekunden die SEARCH +-Taste 9, um auf den nächs-

ten empfangbaren Sender mit höherer Frequenz zu wechseln.

♦ Drücken Sie für ca. 2 Sekunden die SEARCH −-Taste w, um auf den nächs-

ten empfangbaren Sender mit niedrigerer Frequenz zu wechseln.

HINWEIS

► Die Frequenz des Senders wird im Display

4 angezeigt und die Lautspre-

cher s sind während der Sendersuche abgeschaltet. Wird ein Sender in

Stereoqualität empfangen, erscheint im Display 4 ST für Stereoempfang.

Sender manuell einrichten

♦ Drücken Sie im Radiobetrieb entweder kurz die SEARCH +-Taste 9 oder

die SEARCH − -Taste w, um nach einer Frequenz in 0,1 MHz Schritten zu

suchen.

Sender manuell speichern

w, um nach einem empfangbaren Radiosender oder einer

Frequenz zu suchen.

♦ Drücken Sie für ca. 2Sekunden die

MEM-Taste z. Im Display 4

blinkt der aktuelle Speicherplatz, z.B. 3.

♦ Drücken Sie die PRESET +-Taste

7 oder die PRESET − -Taste 6, um den

gewünschten Speicherplatz auszuwählen.

♦ Drücken Sie die

MEM-Taste z, um den Sender auf dem gewählten

Speicherplatz zu speichern.

Sender in Monoqualität empfangen

♦ Wenn Sie den Sender in Mono empfangen möchten, drücken und halten Sie

die

ST/MO-Taste q für ca. 2Sekunden, bis im Display 4 ST für

Stereoempfang erlischt.

HINWEIS

► ST wird nur angezeigt, wenn der Sender tatsächlich in Stereo empfangen

werden kann.

♦ Um wieder auf Stereoempfang umzuschalten, drücken und halten Sie die

ST/MO-Taste q erneut für ca. 2Sekunden, bis im Display 4 ST für

Stereoempfang erscheint.

Küchentimer

Das Gerät verfügt über einen praktischen Küchentimer, mit dem z.B. Koch- und

Backzeiten überwacht werden können. Es können 2 Küchentimer eingestellt werden.

Küchentimer einstellen und bedienen

♦ Drehen Sie den Drehregler −TIMER+ 8 nach links oder rechts, um den Timer 1

einzustellen. Die Anzeige blinkt im Display 4.

HINWEIS

► Der Timer 1 ist einstellbar in 1 Minute Schritten von 1 Minute bis 3 Stunden

59 Minuten. Wenn Sie den Countdown zwischen 1 Minute und 4 Minuten

einstellen, wird die Zeit in „mm:ss“ angegeben. Wenn Sie als Countdown 5

oder mehr Minuten einstellen, wird die Zeit in „hh:mm“ angegeben.

HINWEIS

► Der Timer 2 ist einstellbar in 5 Minuten Schritten von 5 Minuten bis

3 Stunden 55 Minuten. Die Zeit wird in „hh:mm“ angegeben.

► Wird während der Einstellung ca. 15 Sekunden lang keine Veränderung

vorgenommen, wechselt das Gerät wieder in die vorherige Betriebsart

ohne die Einstellungen zu speichern.

♦ Drücken Sie den Drehregler −TIMER+

8, um die Einstellung zu übernehmen.

Die Anzeige

leuchtet und der Countdown von Timer 2 startet sofort.

♦ Der Countdown von Timer 1 und Timer 2 gibt bei 30, 15, 10 und 5 Sekun-

den vor Ablauf einen Signalton aus, um auf die Alarmzeit hinzuweisen.

♦ Bei Ablauf des Countdowns ertönt ein Alarmton mit ansteigender Lautstärke.

Drücken Sie den Drehregler −TIMER+

8 oder den Drehregler −VOLUME+ |

/FUNC. 1, um den Alarm abzuschalten. Die Anzeige Timer 1 bzw.

Timer 2 erlischt.

Küchentimer abbrechen

♦ Wenn nur Timer 1 oder nur Timer 2 eingestellt ist, drücken Sie zweimal kurz

die -Taste 2 bzw. die -Taste 3, um Timer 1 bzw. Timer 2 abzubre-

chen. Die Anzeige bzw. erlischt. Alternativ können Sie den Drehreg-

ler −TIMER+ 8 für ca. 2 Sekunden drücken.

♦ Wenn Timer 1 und Timer 2 eingestellt sind, drücken Sie jeweils zweimal

kurz die

-Taste 2 und die -Taste 3. Die Anzeige und erlischt.

Externe Wiedergabegeräte anschließen (AUX)

Am AUX-Anschluss 5 können Sie externe Wiedergabegeräte wie z. B. einen

MP3-Player oder ein Smartphone anschließen, um diese als Wiedergabequelle

für das Küchenradio zu verwenden.

HINWEIS

► Schalten Sie das Küchenradio und das externe Wiedergabegerät aus,

bevor Sie diese miteinander verbinden. Beachten Sie auch die Bedienungs-

anleitung des Gerätes, das Sie an das Küchenradio anschließen möchten.

Für den Anschluss externer Wiedergabegeräte benötigen Sie ein Audiokabel

mit einem 3,5 mm Ø Klinkenstecker (nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten) für den

AUX-Anschluss

5 des Küchenradios. Welcher Stecker sich am anderen Ende

des Audiokabels beﬁnden muss, ist vom Audio-Ausgang des externen Wiederga-

begerätes abhängig.

♦ Schalten Sie beide Geräte aus, bevor Sie diese wieder voneinander trennen.

♦ Ziehen Sie den Stecker des Audiokabels aus dem AUX-Anschluss
