Troubleshooting

Problem Cause Correction
Upper thread tears
1. The machine is not correctly threaded.
2. The thread tension is too high.
3. The thread is too thick for the needle.
4. The needle is not correctly inserted.
5. The thread has become wound around the bobbin
winder spindle (17).
6. The needle is damaged.
1. Thread the yarn again.
2. Loosen the thread tension (3).
3. Select a larger needle size.
4. Remove and reinsert the needle (flat side towards the
back).
5. Remove the bobbin (g) and unwind the thread.
6. Replace the needle.
Lower thread breaks
1. The lower thread bobbin is not inserted correctly in
the bobbin case.
2. The lower thread is threaded incorrectly.
1. Insert the lower thread bobbin correctly.
2. Tread the lower thread again
Skipped stitches
1. The needle is not correctly inserted.
2. The needle is damaged.
3. The wrong size needle has been used.
4. The wrong presser foot is attached.
1. Remove and reinsert the needle (flat side towards the
back).
2. Replace the needle.
3. Choose a needle size to suit the thread and fabric.
4. Select the correct presser foot.
Needle breaks
1. The needle is damaged.
2. The needle is not inserted correctly.
3. Fabric too thick / needle size wrong.
4. The wrong presser foot is attached.
1. Replace the needle.
2. Insert the needle correctly (flat side towards the
back).
3. Choose a needle size to suit the thread and fabric.
4. Select the correct presser foot.
Loose stitches
1. The sewing machine is not correctly threaded.
2. The lower thread is not threaded correctly.
3. Needle/fabric/thread combination is wrong.
4. Thread tension wrong.
1. Thread the sewing machine correctly.
2. Thread the lower thread correctly.
3. The needle size must suit the fabric and thread.
4. Correct the thread tension.
The seams contract or
gather
1. The needle is too thick for the fabric.
2. The lower thread is not threaded correctly.
3. Fabric has been pulled when sewing.
1. Select a finer needle.
2. Thread the lower thread correctly.
3. Use a suitable backing for fine or stretchy textiles.
Irregular stitches
Irregular feed
1. The thread is too weak.
2. The lower thread bobbin is not inserted correctly in
the bobbin case.
3. The lower thread is threaded incorrectly.
4. Fabric has been pulled when sewing.
1. Use stronger thread.
2. Insert bobbin correctly
3. Thread the lower thread correctly.
4. Do not pull on the fabric. It must be automatically
moved by the sewing machine.
The sewing machine is
loud and gruff
1. Fluff or oil have collected on the looper or needle
bar.
2. The needle is damaged.
3. Slight humming sound coming from internal motor.
4. Thread is caught in the looper.
5. The feed dog is dirty with lint.
1. Clean the looper and feed dog.
2. Replace the needle.
3. This is normal.
4. Remove the upper thread and bobbin case, turn the
handwheel (25) backwards and forwards.
5. Remove thread remnants.
The sewing machine jams 1. Thread is caught in the looper. 1. Remove the upper thread and the bobbin case. Turn
the handwheel (25) back and forth and remove the
thread remnants.
NOTE
If the problem is still not solved, please contact your customer services.
NOTE
During sewing, if the thread has been jammed inside the looper and needle movement stops. If you continue to sew, the sewing machine will stop
automatically due to safety. If the sewing machine stops, please turn off the machine first and then turn on again.
