Electronic Program Guide (EPG)
Digital television offers many advantages compared to traditional analogue TV
broadcasts: not only are the picture and sound quality much better, but plenty of
additional information is also broadcast over the same channel. This also includes
the Electronic Program Guide (EPG). You can open this to obtain details about
current and future programmes or to check up on any schedule changes to a
show.
To open the Electronic Program Guide:
1. press the EPG button (33).
The Electronic Program Guide will show up in daily calendar view.
In the list on the left, all saved digital channels will appear. On the right-hand
panel the programme schedule for today shows up. The title bar of the right panel
also contains the current date and day of the week. The different programmes will
appear in a chronologically sorted list. It contains the estimated broadcasting
schedule on the left. On the right, the title of the show is listed.
Not all digital channels broadcast programme information.
Viewing Detailed Information about a Programme
Similar to a TV programme magazine, the Electronic Program Guide can be used
to read a short description about a programme (for instance the plot of a movie).
Proceed as follows:
1. Press EPG (33) to open the Electronic Program Guide.
2. Press T or S (25) on the remote control to select the channel for which you
want to obtain the programme schedule.
3. Press the direction button W or X (25) to go to the programme list.
4. Press T or S (25) on the remote control to select the programme for which
you want to obtain more information and press the OK button (25) to display.
The programme schedule, language, rating and a short description about the
programme will be shown (if available).
5. Press the direction buttons T or S (25) on the remote control to scroll down
the short description and read more.
