2. Proper use
The electric grater is intended for cutting vegetables that can be easily
cut in normal household quantities.
The appliance is only intended for private use and not for industrial/
commercial use.
Note that no liability will be accepted if this product is not used for its
intended purpose:
Do not modify the appliance without our express agreement
and do not use any accessories that have not been supplied or
approved by us.
Only use replacement parts or accessories that we have supplied
or approved.
Comply with all the information in this user manual, especially the
safety information. Any other use is considered improper and can
cause personal injury or property damage.
3. Safety information

WARNING!
Risk of injury!
Risk of injury to children and persons with limited physical,
sensory or mental abilities (for example, partially disabled
people or older people with limited physical and mental
abilities) or to those without experience and knowledge
(such as older children).
Keep the appliance and its accessories out of the reach of children.
This appliance can be used by children of 8 years and older, and
by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacity, or
with a lack of experience and/or knowledge, but only with proper
supervision, or if they have been told how to use the appliance
safely, and have understood the risks involved if they use it
improperly.

Children must not be allowed to play with the appliance.
Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by
children, unless they are aged 8 or over and are supervised.
Children do not recognise the dangers that can arise when
handling electrical appliances. Please be particularly careful while
using the appliance if there are children nearby.
Children younger than 8 must be kept away from the appliance
and the power cable.

Packaging film can be swallowed or used improperly,
creating a risk of choking and suffocation.
Keep packaging material such as plastic film or plastic bags away

Do not let children play with the packaging material.
WARNING!
Risk of electric shock/short circuit!
There is a risk of electric shock/short circuit from live parts.
Only connect the appliance to a properly installed, earthed
and easily accessible socket that is close to where you are using
the appliance. The local mains voltage must correspond to the
technical specifications for the appliance.
The power socket must be easily accessible so that you can unplug
the appliance from the mains quickly if necessary.
Always unplug the appliance from the mains if it is to be left
unattended, and before you assemble, disassemble or clean it.
Always hold the plug to pull it out, never pull the cable.
Do not allow the mains cable to come into contact with hot objects
or surfaces (e.g. cooker hob).
Do not use if the appliance or the mains cable is visibly damaged
or if the appliance has been dropped.

Appliances connected to the mains during a thunderstorm may be
damaged by power surges. You should therefore always unplug
the plug during thundery conditions.
Check the appliance and the mains cable for damage before
using the appliance for the first time, and after each use.
Completely unwind the mains cable.
Do not kink or crush the mains cable.
Do not use the appliance if you notice that it, or its mains cable, is
damaged.
Contact our Service Centre without delay if the appliance has
been damaged during transport.
Do not, under any circumstances, make any unauthorised
modifications to the appliance or try to open a component and/or
repair it yourself.
If the mains connection cable of this appliance is damaged, it must
be replaced by the manufacturer (or relevant customer service) or
other suitably qualified person. This is to avoid hazards.
The appliance power unit must not be submerged in water or other
liquids, nor exposed to running water or used in damp environments,
as this may result in an electric shock.
Unplug the appliance from the power socket if:
you are cleaning the appliance
the appliance is damp or wet
the appliance is no longer in use.
Do not let the appliance come into contact with water or other
liquids. Keep the appliance, the mains cable and the mains plug
away from wash basins, sinks or similar.
Do not place any objects filled with liquid (e.g. vases or drinks) on
or near the appliance.
Never touch the appliance or the mains cable with wet hands.
Never immerse the appliance power unit in water or other liquids.
Use the appliance indoors only.

Do not expose the appliance to extreme conditions. Avoid:
high humidity or wet conditions
extremely high or low temperatures
direct sunlight
open flames.
CAUTION!

Touching moving, sharp-edged parts can cause cut or crush
injuries.
Do not touch the moving parts.
Only use the appliance when the funnel attachment is on.
Ensure that no foreign objects are in the feed chute or collection
container during operation.
Never push food into the feed chute using your hands.
Use only the pusher to push food into the feed chute.
The cutting attachments are extremely sharp. Do not touch the
blades.
Never remove the funnel attachment before the cutting tools have
stopped moving completely.
Keep hair, clothing, hands, cutlery, cooking spoons or similar
away from the appliance while you are using it, to avoid injuring
yourself or damaging the appliance.
3.1. Setting up the appliance
Place the appliance on a stable, level surface.
Do not set up the appliance near heat sources such as gas or
electric cookers.
Never place the appliance on the edge of a table – it could tip
over and fall.
Ensure that the mains cable does not become a tripping hazard
and do not use an extension cord.

3.2. Handle the appliance with care
CAUTION!
Risk of injury!
Touching moving, sharp-edged parts can cause cut or crush
injuries.
Do not touch the moving parts.
Keep hair, clothing, hands, cutlery, cooking spoons or similar
away from the appliance while you are using it, to avoid injuring
yourself or damaging the appliance.
As a matter of principle only use the appliance if it is fully
assembled.
ATTENTION!
Possible damage to the appliance!
Using the appliance in a way that was not intended may
damage it.
Do not kink the power cable or wrap it around the appliance.
Unwind the cable fully when using the appliance.
Place the appliance on a stable, level surface.
Never place the appliance on the edge of a table – it could tip
over and fall.
Always unplug the plug during thundery conditions.
The appliance can overheat. Do not use the appliance for more
than 30 seconds at a time to prevent overheating. After this period
of use, wait for 2 minutes before using it again.
If the cutting tool becomes blocked during operation, unplug the
appliance and remove the blockage (see section “11. Cleaning”
on page 53).

8. Getting started
Remove all packaging materials.
WARNING!
Risk of electric shock/short circuit!
The appliance power unit must not be immersed in water
or other liquids, or held under running water, because this
could cause an electric shock.
Clean the surfaces of the power unit using a soft, slightly
damp cloth.
Before the first use, clean all loose parts (collection container, funnel attachment,
pusher, cutting attachments) with ordinary washing-up liquid and under running water.
Place the appliance on a stable, level work surface.
The appliance is driven by an electric motor. This can lead to a slight smell
during initial operation. This smell is normal and is not a sign of a
malfunctioning appliance. Ensure that there is adequate ventilation.

8.1. Removing/mounting the funnel attachment
8.1.1. Removing the funnel attachment
Press the release button 1 to release the
funnel attachment 6.
Remove the funnel attachment from the
power unit 5.
If the funnel attachment is
removed when the appliance is
switched on, the power unit for
the cutting tool is stopped
immediately.
8.1.2. Mounting the funnel attachment
Place the funnel attachment onto the power unit.
The locking tab on the funnel attachment must be resting in a recess on the power unit.
Depending on the application, the arrow on the funnel attachment points to the
(grate) symbol or the (spiralise) symbol.
Press the funnel attachment onto the power unit until it audibly clicks into place.
The appliance can only be operated when the funnel attachment has been
mounted and clicked into place on the power unit.
8.2. Removing/fi tting cutting attachments
CAUTION!
Risk of injury!
Touching the sharp cutting tools can cause cut injuries.
Hold cutting attachments (green/orange) by the
perforated recesses provided.
Hold the cutting attachment (yellow) by the cutting
attachment housing.

Remove the funnel attachment (see section “8.1.1. Removing the funnel attachment”).

Remove the relevant cutting attachment
(a) from the power unit (b).
Fitting the cutting attachment
Insert the relevant cutting attachment (a)
into the power unit (b) with the blade
facing upwards.
Mount the funnel attachment (see section
“8.1.2. Mounting the funnel attachment”).

(a) on the power unit.
Press the cutting attachment onto the
power unit until it audibly clicks into
place.
Mount the funnel attachment (see section
“8.1.2. Mounting the funnel attachment”).

8.3. Fitting/removing the collection container
Fitting the collection container
Place the collection container 4 into the
power unit.
Ensure that the locking tabs engage in the
relevant guides.
Turn the inserted collection container
towards the lock marker (a) until it audibly
clicks into place in the locking position.
The appliance can only be
operated when the collection
container has been inserted and
clicked into the locking position.
Removing the collection container
Turn the collection container towards the
unlock marker (b) and remove it from the
power unit.
If the collection container is
removed when the appliance is
switched on, the power unit for
the cutting tool is stopped
immediately.

8.4. Starting/stopping the cutting process
Connect the appliance to a properly installed mains socket. The mains voltage must
match the technical data for the appliance.
Before cutting or grating, ensure that
the correct cutting attachment has been inserted
the funnel attachment has been mounted and locked into position
the collection container has been inserted and locked into position.
To cut the vegetable, switch on the
appliance using the 2 switch (switch
position: I).
To stop the cutting process, switch the
appliance off using the switch (switch
position: O).
9. Which foods are suitable?
Firm vegetables such as:
• Carrots
• Courgette
• Potatoes
• Cucumber
• Squash
• Radish
• Cabbage
Cut the vegetables into a size that fits into the feed chute (edge length: approx. 4.0 x
5.5 cm).
Ensure that the vegetable pieces to be processed are thicker than 2.5 cm,
since more thinly sliced foods can slip through the holes in the cutting
attachment and break.

10. Using the appliance
Insert the collection container 4 in the power unit 5.
10.1. Cutting slices or spirals
Insert the “green” cutting attachment 8 into the power unit (see section “8.2.
Removing/fitting cutting attachments” on page 45).
Cutting slices
Mount the funnel attachment 6 on the
power unit 5 so that the arrow marker
on the funnel attachment is aligned with
the release button 1 (see figure).
Remove the pusher 7 from the feed
chute.
Place the vegetable into the feed chute.
Press the On/Off switch to start the
cutting process.
Use the pusher to gently push the
vegetable against the cutting tool.
The cut vegetable falls into the collection
container.
Press the On/Off switch to stop the
cutting process.
Spiralising
Mount the funnel attachment on the
power unit so that the arrow marker on
the funnel attachment is aligned with the
spiral symbol (a) (see figure).
Remove the pusher (b) from the feed
chute.
Place the vegetable into the feed chute.
Press the On/Off switch to start the
cutting process.
Use the pusher to gently push the
vegetable against the cutting tool.
The cut vegetable falls into the collection
container.
Press the On/Off switch to stop the
cutting process.

Remove the pusher (b) from the feed
chute.
Place the vegetable into the feed chute.

vegetable against the cutting tool.
The cut vegetable falls into the collection
container.
Press the On/Off switch to stop the
cutting process.
Cutting spaghetti
Mount the funnel attachment on the
power unit so that the arrow marker on
the funnel attachment is aligned with the
spiral symbol (a) (see figure).
Remove the pusher (b) from the feed
chute.
Place the vegetable into the feed chute.
Press the On/Off switch to start the
cutting process.
Use the pusher to gently push the
vegetable against the cutting tool.
The cut vegetable falls into the collection
container.
Press the On/Off switch to stop the
cutting process.
The pin in the middle of both cutting attachments is designed to centre the
food when cutting spirals or spaghetti.
