Fonctionnement
L‘oxymètre de pouls SPO 55 permet de mesurer de manière non invasive la saturation arté-
rielle en oxygène (SpO₂) et la fréquence cardiaque (fréquence du pouls). La saturation en
oxygène indique en pourcentage combien d‘hémoglobine est chargée en oxygène dans
le sang artériel. Par conséquent, il s‘agit d‘un paramètre essentiel pour l‘évaluation de la
fonction respiratoire.
L‘oxymètre de pouls utilise pour cette mesure deux faisceaux lumineux de différente lon-
gueur d‘onde, qui entrent au contact du doigt inséré à l‘intérieur du boîtier. Un taux de
saturation en oxygène faible est principalement le signe de maladies (maladies respiratoires,
asthme, insuffisance cardiaque).
Lorsque des personnes présentent un faible taux de saturation en oxygène, les symptômes
suivants augmentent : essoufflement, augmentation de la fréquence cardiaque, perte de
performance, nervosité et sudations. Une saturation en oxygène reconnue comme étant dimi-
nuée et chronique nécessite une surveillance sous contrôle médical, au moyen de votre
oxymètre de pouls.
