2.1 Disposizioni di sicurezza generali

• Gli apparecchi elettrici devono essere tenuti fuori dalla portata dei

bambini. Non lasciare i bambini incustoditi a contatto con apparecchi elet-

trici. Potrebbero non essere in grado di riconoscere i pericoli.

•

Le piccole parti, se inghiottite, possono costituire un pericolo mortale.

Sussiste inoltre il pericolo di soffocamento, nel caso in cui le vie respirato-

rie venissero occluse dal materiale di imballaggio.

• Durante le prime ore di funzionamento i nuovi apparecchi possono rila-

sciare un certo tipo di odore. Questo fenomeno è inevitabile e scompare in

breve tempo. Fino a quel momento, si raccomanda di areare periodica-

mente il locale.

2.2 Utilizzo conforme alla destinazione d’uso

La camcorder appartiene al settore della tecnologia informatica. Viene utiliz-

zata in modo conforme alla destinazione d'uso per riprendere e riprodurre film

o fotografie. Ogni altro utilizzo non è conforme alla destinazione d'uso.

Il produttore declina ogni responsabilità nel caso in cui l'apparecchio ...

• non sia utilizzato conformemente alla destinazione d'uso

• venga messo in funzione in seguito a danneggiamenti o modifiche.

La camcorder è destinata all'uso privato e non può essere utilizzata per scopi

commerciali o industriali.

2.3 Conformità

La camcorder è conforme, nel rispetto dei requisiti essenziali e delle relative

disposizioni, alla direttiva EMC 2004/108/EC e alla direttiva Bassa Tensione

2006/95/EC. La dichiarazione di conformità EC è riportata alla fine del presen-

te manuale.

In caso di trasformazioni o modifiche dell'apparecchio effettuate dall'utente

non è garantita l'osservanza di tali norme. Il produttore declina ogni respon-

sabilità in caso di danni provocati dalle suddette modifiche.

Utilizzare esclusivamente gli accessori forniti dal produttore.

2.4 Disposizioni di legge

• La garanzia è valida per 3 anni dalla data di acquisto. Le condizioni di ga-

ranzia sono riportate alla fine di questo manuale. In caso si intenda ricor-

parecchio e contattare la nostra assistenza clienti (per il numero di telefo-

no consultare le condizioni di garanzia).

2.5 Condizioni operative/Condizioni ambientali

• La camcorder può essere utilizzata a temperature comprese tra 0 °C e

40 °C (da 32 °F a 104 °F).

• Tenere lontani la camcorder e i suoi accessori dalla polvere, dal calore e

dai raggi diretti del sole ed evitare vibrazioni, scosse e colpi. Non lasciar

cadere la camcorder poiché potrebbe danneggiarsi.

• Non collocate la camcorder e i suoi accessori in luoghi molto caldi. Le

temperature elevate possono ridurre il ciclo vitale degli apparecchi elettro-

nici, danneggiare le batterie e deformare o fondere le parti in plastica.

Impermeabilità

• La camcorder è impermeabile fino a 3 m di profondità (IPX8). L'imperme-

abilità è garantita fino a 60 minuti di utilizzo sott'acqua.

• Gli accessori in dotazione non sono impermeabili. La camcorder non è

antipolvere.

• L'impermeabilità della camcorder si riferisce solo ad acqua dolce e salata;

non è valida per sostanze detergenti, chimiche oppure per l'acqua delle

piscine. Questi liquidi devono essere subito asciugati se vengono a contat-

to con l'apparecchio.

• La guarnizione resistente all'acqua può essere sostituita dietro pagamen-

to. Questo materiale deve essere sostituito una volta l'anno per garantire

l'impermeabilità.

• Leggete attentamente le disposizioni di sicurezza nel capitolo "Fare im-

mersioni con la camcorder".

2.6 Sicurezza di funzionamento

• Consultate attentamente le istruzioni relative al vostro televisore o al com-

puter prima di accendere la camcorder.

• Nel caso in cui la camcorder venga esposta ad elevate variazioni della

temperatura, potrebbe formarsi della condensa che può causare un corto

circuito elettrico. Prima della messa in funzione attendere che l'apparec-

chio si sia adattato alla temperatura dell'ambiente.

• Non collocare fuochi vivi, ad es. candele accese, oppure oggetti contenen-

ti liquidi, ad es. vasi o bevande, nelle immediate vicinanze della camcorder

• Tenere la camcorder a distanza da sorgenti di interferenza ad alta fre-

quenza e magnetiche (ad. es. televisore, telefoni cellulari, casse acusti-

che, ecc.), per evitare malfunzionamenti.

• Non aprire mai il vano batteria durante le riprese. Le immagini già memo-

rizzate potrebbero venire danneggiate.

• Se dell'acqua dovesse penetrare nella camcorder o in caso di problemi

nell'utilizzo sott'acqua:

− Estrarre subito la camcorder dall'acqua.

− Asciugare la camcorder.

− Far riparare la camcorder da personale tecnico, di assistenza o di ma-

nutenzione qualificato.

Cavi

Afferrare tutti i cavi sempre attraverso il connettore e non tirare il cavo stesso.

Non afferrare mai il cavo elettrico con le mani bagnate perché questo potreb-

be provocare un cortocircuito o una scossa elettrica.

Non collocare l'apparecchio, i mobili o altri oggetti pesanti sui cavi e accertarsi

che i cavi stessi non siano piegati, in particolare in corrispondenza dei connet-

tori e delle prese.

Non fare mai nodi in un cavo e non legarlo ad altri cavi. Collocare tutti i cavi in

modo che non possano essere calpestati e che non costituiscano un intralcio.

Un cavo elettrico danneggiato potrebbe causare un incendio o una scossa

elettrica. Controllare di tanto in tanto il cavo elettrico. Utilizzare esclusivamen-

te adattatori e prolunghe che siano conformi alle norme di sicurezza vigenti e

non intervenire sui cavi di rete ed elettrici!

Display LCD

Se il display è danneggiato o graffiato, occorre prestare particolare attenzione

a evitare la fuoriuscita del liquido LCD.

In caso di fuoriuscita del liquido prestare attenzione alle seguenti

avvertenze:

• Se il liquido viene a contatto con la pelle, asciugare con un panno asciutto

e risciacquare con molta acqua.

• Se il liquido viene a contatto con gli occhi, risciacquare per almeno 15

minuti sotto l'acqua corrente e dirigersi poi al pronto soccorso.

• Se il liquido viene inghiottito, sciacquare la bocca con acqua; bere poi mol-

ta acqua e provocare il vomito. Recarsi immediatamente al pronto soccor-

so.

Batteria PAC-0040, PAC ELECTRONICS CO., LTD.

• Utilizzare solo la tipologia di batteria fornito con la vostra camcorder. Altri

tipi di batterie possono danneggiare la camcorder e far decadere la garan-

zia.

• Accertarsi che la batteria sia correttamente inserita. Se la batteria viene

inserita in modo errato, il prodotto potrebbe danneggiarsi e potrebbe svi-

lupparsi un incendio.

• Rimuovere la batteria, se non si utilizza la camcorder per un periodo pro-

lungato per evitare la fuoriuscita del liquido.

• Estrarre subito la batteria se questo è schiacciata o danneggiata, perché

si potrebbero verificare la fuoriuscita del liquido e quindi un'espansione

anormale della batteria.

Caricatore DJ04V20500A, SCOPE TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD.

• Collegate il caricatore solo se la tensione elettrica indicata sulla targhetta

corrisponde alla tensione della vostra rete elettrica (la targhetta è posta

sotto il caricatore). Una tensione errata potrebbe danneggiare il caricatore

e la batteria,

• Per scollegare completamente l’apparecchio estrarre la spina. Collocare il

caricatore in modo tale che la presa elettrica sia sempre raggiungibile e

che in caso di necessità sia possibile estrarre rapidamente la spina.

• Per escludere rischi di incendio, estrarre la spina dalla presa quando non

è in corso il caricamento della batteria.

• Per maggiore sicurezza, in caso di assenza prolungata e di temporali, è

opportuno scollegare il caricatore dalla presa.

• Accertarsi che ....

− sia garantita costantemente una sufficiente ventilazione (non collocare

il caricatore su un tappeto folto o su un letto e lasciare almeno 10 cm.

di spazio su tutti i lati);

− il caricatore non venga a contatto con spruzzi o gocce d’acqua o liquidi

aggressivi. Non utilizzare il caricatore vicino all’acqua e non immerger-

lo in acqua (non collocare oggetti colmi di liquidi, ad es. vasi o bevande

sopra o vicino al caricatore);

− il caricatore non sia esposto a forti oscillazioni di temperatura perché

l’umidità potrebbe condensarsi e causare cortocircuiti elettrici;

− il caricatore non sia sottoposto a scosse e vibrazioni eccessive.

2.7 Pulizia

Scollegare la camcorder da tutti gli apparecchi collegati, prima di ripulir-

la.

In caso di imbrattamento, pulire la camcorder con un panno asciutto; in pre-

senza di sporco ostinato utilizzare un panno umido. Non utilizzare solventi, né

detergenti aggressivi o spray. Nell'apparecchio non deve penetrare alcuna

umidità.

Eliminate sporcizia e sabbia dalla guarnizione resistente all'acqua o dalla su-

perficie circostante. Sporcizia e sabbia possono graffiare il materiale o la su-

perficie e ridurre l'impermeabilità.

2.8 Riparazione

È necessario un intervento di riparazione se è penetrato del liquido nel corpo

interno, se il corpo esterno è danneggiato o se la camcorder non è più funzio-

nante.

Se si dovessero sviluppare del fumo oppure rumori od odori insoliti, estrarre

subito la spina dalla presa. In questo caso non utilizzare più il caricatore e

ricorrere all'assistenza di un tecnico.

Non aprire l'apparecchio. Affidare le riparazioni esclusivamente a personale

tecnico, di assistenza o manutenzione qualificato.

2.9 Smaltimento degli apparecchi usati

Ai sensi della direttiva 2002/96/EC sullo smaltimento di appa-

recchiature elettriche ed elettroniche obsolete, dette apparec-

chiature non possono più essere smaltite come rifiuti urbani. Si

prega di smaltire questo prodotto al momento dovuto esclusi-

vamente presso un centro di raccolta e smaltimento locale.

Non gettare gli accumulatori difettosi nei rifiuti domestici. Le batterie usate

devono essere consegnate presso gli appositi punti di raccolta.

Lo smaltimento corretto evita danni all’ambiente e tutela la salute personale.

L'amministrazione comunale, l'ufficio responsabile dello smaltimento rifiuti

oppure il negozio nel quale è stato acquistato il prodotto forniscono ulteriori

informazioni riguardanti lo smaltimento del prodotto non più utilizzato.

4 Descrizione del prodotto

4.1 Caratteristiche

4.3 Comandi e collegamenti

A: obiettivo

5 Messa in funzione e configurazione

In questa sezione si descrivono l'accensione della camcorder, l'inserimento

della batteria e delle schede di memoria e la configurazione delle impostazioni

di base.

5.1 Fase 1: caricare la batteria

La batteria può essere caricata solo tramite il caricatore in dotazione

oppure con il pezzo di ricambio originale. In caso contrario la batteria po-

trebbe guastarsi o incendiarsi.

Attenzione: la batteria può essere caricata anche collegando la camcorder

a un computer in funzione mediante l'interfaccia USB.

Un'operazione completa di caricamento richiede circa 180 minuti se si utilizza

il caricatore e circa 240 minuti mediante il collegamento USB.

1. Inserire la batteria nel caricatore.

2. Collegare il caricatore mediante il cavo elettri-

co a una presa ben accessibile.

Durante il caricamento il LED del caricatore si

illumina di arancione. Dopo il caricamento

completo, il LED si illumina di verde.

La durata di caricamento dipende dalla poten-

za in uscita della batteria e dalle condizioni di

caricamento.

5.2 Fase 2: inserire la scheda SD e la batteria

La camcorder dispone di una memoria interna con una capacità di 128 MB.

Una parte di questa memoria viene fornita in versione firmware. La scheda

SD in dotazione (2 GB) funge da memoria di massa per le foto, i filmati o altri

file.

Attenzione:

La scheda SD è già formattata. Se volete utilizzare un'altra scheda è ne-

cessario eseguire prima la formattazione (consultare il capitolo "5.3.3 Menu

di configurazione", paragrafo "Formattare la memoria").

Una scheda SD può essere protetta dalla scrittura mediante un meccani-

smo a scorrimento situato sul lato sinistro della scheda stessa:

Levetta verso l'alto: è possibile scrivere sulla scheda SD; le riprese pos-

sono essere memorizzate sulla scheda SD.

Levetta verso il basso: la scheda SD è protetta dalla scrittura; le riprese

non possono essere memorizzate sulla scheda SD.

La camcorder richiede una batteria agli ioni di litio. Utilizzate solo la batteria o

le batterie consigliate dal produttore o dal rivenditore.

1. Per aprire il coperchio del vano batteria, spin-

gere la barretta verso l'alto.

2. Inserire la scheda SD fino all'arresto.

Per estrarre la scheda SD, premere verso il

basso per sbloccarla ed estrarla.

3. Inserire la batteria fino all'arresto.

Per estrarre la batteria, sboccarla. Si muoverà

verso l'alto e sarà possibile sbloccarla.

4. Richiudere, sistemandolo nella posizione cor-

retta, il coperchio del vano batteria e spingere

la barretta all'indietro finché si sente un clic.

Per assicurare l'impermeabilità, accertarsi

che il coperchio del vano batteria sia chiuso

correttamente.

5.3 Fase 3: accendere la camcorder e definire le impostazioni

Prima di impiegare la camcorder, è necessario definire le impostazioni di ba-

se, come la data e l'orario, la lingua e il segnale acustico.

5.3.1 Accensione/spegnimento della camcorder

La camcorder si accende non appena si apre il coperchio del display; si spe-

gne automaticamente una volta chiuso il coperchio.

Mentre il coperchio del display è aperto, è possibile accendere e spegnere la

camcorder tramite il pulsante on/off (P).

Accendere la camcorder

Funzioni di base

1. Premere il tasto MODE (S), finché

sul display si visualizza il menu ac-

2. Selezionare il menu desiderato (qui

basso (L).

zione desiderata.

6. Premere il tasto di navigazione cen-

trale (L) per ritornare al menu.

5.3.3 Menu di configurazione

Accensione/spegnimento del segnale acu-

stico (beep)

Se il segnale acustico è attivato, ogni volta che

si accende o si spegne la camcorder si avverte

una melodia e ogni volta che si preme un tasto

l'apparecchio emette un beep (segnale di con-

ferma).

Spegnimento automatico (modalità di ri-

sparmio energetico)

Con questa funzione si determina se la cam-

corder deve passare automaticamente alla mo-

dalità di risparmio energetico quando non viene

utilizzata e dopo quanti minuti si attiva questa

modalità.

OFF: modalità di risparmio energetico disattiva-

ta.

1 min: la modalità di risparmio energetico si

attiva, quando non viene azionato alcun tasto

per 1 minuto.

5 min: la modalità di risparmio energetico si

attiva, quando non viene azionato alcun tasto

per 5 minuti.

TV Standard

Selezionate qui il vostro sistema televisivo na-

zionale.

NTSC: è diffuso negli USA e in Giappone

PAL: diffuso nella maggior parte dei paesi eu-

ropei

Questa impostazione riguarda solo le trasmis-

sioni di filmati, non la visualizzazione di imma-

gini in modalità HDMI.

Formattare la memoria

Durante la formattazione si cancellano tutti i

dati memorizzati. Se si è selezionato "9" e si

preme il tasto centrale (L), viene avviata la for-

mattazione senza domanda di sicurezza.

Selezionare la lingua del display

Qui si seleziona la lingua del display.

Frequenza

Selezionate qui una frequenza della vostra rete

elettrica, per evitare lo sfarfallio delle lampade

fluorescenti durante le riprese. In Europa è abi-

tuale una frequenza di rete di 50 Hz, in America

di 60 Hz.

5.4 Fase 4: Installare software "TotalMedia™ HDCam"

Il software TotalMedia™ HDCam di ArcSoft è un programma informatico che

combina la gestione multimediale e la riproduzione di file con strumenti di

visualizzazione, collegamento, stampa e masterizzazione.

Il software si trova sul CD in dotazione.

Si deve collegare la camcorder al PC, prima di inserire il CD nell'unità CD o

DVD. In caso contrario il software non è in grado di trovare la camcorder e

non è possibile eseguire l'installazione.

Procedura:

1. Collegare la camcorder al PC tramite il cavo USB/AV.

2. Accendere la camcorder aprendo il coperchio del display.

Dopo pochi istanti sullo schermo del PC si visualizzerà "Trovato nuovo

hardware".

Se il PC non dovesse riconoscere la camcorder, estrarre il connettore

USB e reintrodurlo. Utilizzare eventualmente un'altra porta USB del PC.

3. Inserire il CD "TotalMediaHDCam" nell’unità CD/DVD.

Di solito il programma di installazione si avvia automaticamente. Se que-

sto non accade, procedere come segue:

− Aprire Explorer (clic destro del mouse su [Start] → Menu "Explorer").

− Nella directory ad albero fare clic sull'icona dell'unità CD o DVD.

− Fare doppio clic sul file "TotalMediaHDCam.exe".

Il software viene così installato e avviato automaticamente.

4. La lingua dell'interfaccia utente si seleziona mediante il menu "Opzioni" (a

destra in alto nella finestra del programma) e la voce del menu "Preimpo-

stazioni" (prima voce del menu).

Le informazioni relative alle funzioni del software sono presenti nella guida

online che si richiama mediante il menu "Opzioni".

6 Funzionamento

6.1 Prima di iniziare

Fate alcune di riprese di prova prima di utilizzare effettivamente la camcorder.

Fate una prova per verificare il funzionamento della camcorder, prima di effet-

tuare riprese durante un'occasione importante (ad es. per un matrimonio o un

viaggio all'estero). Il produttore declina qualsiasi responsabilità per altre perdi-

te che sono dovute al malfunzionamento del prodotto (ad es. costi fotografici o

mancati guadagni a causa di riprese di cattiva qualità) ed esclude a questo

proposito qualsiasi rimborso.

6.2 Informazioni sul diritto d'autore

In alcune località è affisso il cartello di divieto "Vietato fotografare". Non è

consentito riprendere spettacoli dal vivo, show improvvisati o esibizioni, nean-

che per scopi privati. La trasmissione di immagini o dati sui supporti di memo-

ria deve rispettare le restrizioni imposte dal diritto d'autore.

6.3 Ripresa di filmati

Per riprendere un filmato procedere nel seguente modo:

1. Accendere la camcorder aprendo coperchio del display (C).

2. Per selezionare la modalità filmato, premere più volte il tasto MODE (S),

finché sul display, in alto a sinistra, non si visualizza una camcorder ( ).

3. Iniziare a riprendere il filmato premendo il tasto di registrazione (M).

Per adeguare le impostazioni del filmato è possibile

− ingrandire e rimpicciolire i soggetti con i tasti zoom (D) (non per le ri-

soluzioni 1080P e QVGA e nella modalità macro).

− modificare il bilanciamento del bianco con il tasto di navigazione a

sinistra (L).

− accendere e spegnere il LED con il tasto di navigazione a destra (L).

− attivare la modalità macro con il pulsante macro (F) .

4. Mediante una nuova pressione del tasto di registrazione (M) si termina

la ripresa del filmato.

6.4 Riprodurre filmati

Per riprodurre un filmato procedere nel seguente modo:

1. Accendere la camcorder aprendo coperchio del display (C).

2. Per selezionare la modalità filmato, premere il tasto Riproduzione (Q).

3. Sfogliare i filmati già registrati con i tasti di navigazione a sinistra/a de-

stra (L).

4. Avviare la riproduzione premendo il tasto di navigazione centrale (L).

Durante la riproduzione è possibile...

− avanzare rapidamente tenendo premuto il tasto di navigazione a de-

stra (L).

− ritornare indietro rapidamente tenendo premuto il tasto di navigazio-

ne a sinistra (L).

− regolare il volume tenendo premuto il tasto di navigazione in alto/in

basso (L).

− interromperla (Pause), premendo il tasto zoom "W" (D). Premendo

nuovamente il tasto zoom "W" si riprende la riproduzione.

5. Terminare la riproduzione premendo il tasto di navigazione centrale (L).

6.7 Trasferire i filmati/le fotografie su un PC

Procedura:

1. Collegare la camcorder al

Tramite il programma "TotalMedia™ HDCam" potete gestire i vostri filmati e le

vostre fotografie. Il programma si trova sul CD in dotazione (consultare il capi-

tolo "5.6 paragrafo 4: Installare il software "TotalMedia™ HDCam").

6.8 Fare immersioni con la camcorder

6.8.1 Modalità immersione

La modalità immersione considera le condizioni subacquee e adegua automa-

ticamente il bilanciamento del bianco. Le altre impostazioni rimangono immu-

tate.

Per attivare la modalità immersione premere il tasto di modalità immersione

(N).

6.8.2 Importanti avvertenze

Impermeabilità

• La camcorder è impermeabile fino a 3 m di profondità (IPX8).

• L'impermeabilità è garantita fino a 60 minuti di utilizzo sott'acqua.

• L'impermeabilità della camcorder si riferisce solo ad acqua dolce e salata;

non è valida per sostanze detergenti, chimiche oppure per l'acqua delle

piscine. Questi liquidi devono essere subito asciugati se vengono a contat-

to con l'apparecchio.

Prima di aprire il coperchio del vano batteria (G) e delle interfacce (O) è

necessario attendere che l'apparecchio sia completamente asciutto. Quan-

do aprite il coperchio, asportate con un panno assorbente l'acqua e la

sporcizia che potrebbe essersi depositata. Aprire il coperchio rivolgendolo

verso il basso.

Prima dell'immersione:

Verificare i seguenti punti in un luogo chiuso:

• Controllate la zona vicino alle interfacce (batteria/scheda SD e HDMI

/porta USB); asportate sporcizia, sabbia e altre particelle.

• Assicuratevi che i coperchi del vano batteria (G) e delle interfacce (O) non

riportino graffi o che non siano rotti e che siano ben chiusi.

• Assicuratevi che l'apparecchio sia perfettamente integro.

Durante l'immersione:

• Non immergete la camcorder ...

− a una profondità superiore a 3 m

− in presenza di forte pressione idrica

− a una temperatura dell'acqua inferiore a 0° e superiore a 40 °C.

− Non esponete la camcorder a colpi o urti; i coperchi del vano batteria

(G) e delle interfacce (O) potrebbero aprirsi.

• Non tenere la camcorder sott'acqua più di 60 minuti.

Dopo l'immersione:

Ripulire la camcorder subito dopo l'utilizzo sott'acqua. A tal fine procedere

come segue:

1. Assicurarsi che i coperchi del vano batteria (G) e delle interfacce (O) non

riportino graffi o che non siano rotti e che siano ben chiusi. Assicurarsi che

2. Ripulire la camcorder sotto l'acqua corrente.

3. Immergere la camcorder due o tre minuti in acqua (non salata) per rimuo-

vere qualsiasi residuo salino.

4. Estrarre la camcorder dall'acqua e scuoterla più volte.

5. Strofinare bene la camcorder e l'obiettivo con un panno pulito, che non

lasci pelucchi e che sia privo di residui salini.

e delle interfacce (O) con un bastoncino di ovatta inumidito. Aprire e pulire

sciugare all'aria aperta; evitare la luce diretta del sole e luoghi non protetti.

2.1 Precauções gerais

• Os equipamentos eléctricos devem ser mantidos fora do alcance das

crianças! Não deixe nunca uma criança utilizar um aparelho eléctrico, sem

vigilância. Elas nem sempre conseguem identificar devidamente

potenciais perigos.

• As peças pequenas podem constituir perigo de vida, se forem

ingeridas. Lembre-se que o plástico da embalagem pode obstruir as vias

respiratórias e constituir perigo de asfixia.

• Os aparelhos novos podem exalar cheiros nas primeiras horas de

funcionamento, que são inevitáveis e desaparecem ao fim de

relativamente pouco tempo. Ventilar, até essa altura, regularmente o

espaço em questão.

2.2 Utilização de acordo com a finalidade prevista

A câmara de vídeo é um produto da tecnologia de informação. Considera-se

que é utilizada de acordo com a finalidade prevista, se for exclusivamente

usada para gravar e reproduzir filmes ou fotografias. Qualquer outra utilização

é considerada incorrecta.

O fabricante não assume qualquer responsabilidade quando o aparelho:

• não for utilizado de acordo com a finalidade prevista,

• é colocado em funcionamento quando se encontra danificado ou alterado.

A câmara de vídeo só pode ser utilizada para fins privados e não industriais

ou comerciais.

2.3 Observações sobre a conformidade

A câmara de vídeo cumpre, em termos de conformidade, os requisitos

essenciais e as restantes disposições relevantes da Directiva de

Compatibilidade Electromagnética 2004/108/EC bem como da Directiva de

Baixa Tensão 2006/95/EC. A declaração de conformidade CE encontra-se no

final deste Manual do Utilizador.

Em caso de transformação ou modificação, por conta própria, do

equipamento, o cumprimento destas normas deixa de estar garantido. O

fabricante não se responsabiliza pelos danos daí decorrentes.

Utilize apenas os acessórios especificados pelo fabricante.

2.4 Disposições legais

• A garantia é de 3 anos, a contar da data da compra. As condições da

garantia encontram-se na parte final deste manual. Para recorrer à

garantia deve ter à mão o comprovativo de compra e ligar para a nossa

garantia).

2.5 Ambiente de utilização/condições ambientais

• A câmara de vídeo pode ser utilizada a temperaturas entre 0 °C e 40 °C

(32 °F e 104 °F).

• Mantenha a câmara de vídeo e respectivos acessórios protegidos de pó,

calor e de uma exposição directa aos raios solares e evite vibrações,

pancadas e impactos. Nunca deixe cair a câmara de vídeo. Caso

contrário poderá danificar o aparelho.

• Não deixar a câmara de vídeo e os respectivos acessórios em locais

quentes. As temperaturas elevadas podem reduzir o tempo de vida dos

dispositivos electrónicos, danificar as baterias e deformar ou derreter as

peças de plástico.

Impermeabilidade

• A câmara é impermeável à água até uma profundidade de 3 m (IPX8). A

fim de preservar a impermeabilidade, só utilize a câmara debaixo de água

durante 60 minutos, no máximo.

• Os acessórios fornecidos não são à prova de água. A câmara de vídeo

não é resistente ao pó.

• As características de impermeabilidade desta câmara de vídeo reportam

exclusivamente à água doce e salgada; não se aplicam a substâncias de

limpeza, produtos químicos ou à água de piscinas, etc. Os líquidos deste

tipo têm de ser imediatamente removidos do dispositivo.

• O material vedante à prova de água pode ser substituído contra

pagamento. A fim de assegurar a impermeabilidade, o material deve ser

substituído uma vez por ano.

• Observe as instruções de segurança no capítulo "Mergulhar com a

câmara de vídeo".

2.6 Segurança operacional

• Leia e respeite as instruções do seu televisor ou computador, antes de

ligar a câmara de vídeo.

• Se a câmara de vídeo for submetida a grandes oscilações de

temperatura, pode ocorrer a formação de humidade, devido à

condensação, susceptível de provocar um curto-circuito. Se tal ocorrer,

não inicie o funcionamento enquanto o aparelho não se tiver adaptado à

temperatura ambiente.

• Não devem ser colocadas junto da câmara de vídeo fontes de chama

aberta, como velas acesas e objectos contendo líquidos, como, por

exemplo, jarras ou bebidas.

• Para evitar falhas de funcionamento, mantenha a câmara de vídeo

afastada de fontes de interferência magnética e de alta frequência (como

televisores, telemóveis e altifalantes).

• Durante a gravação de imagens, não abra nunca o compartimento da

bateria. Caso contrário, existe o risco de corromper dados de imagem.

• Se acidentalmente entrar água na câmara de vídeo ou se registarem

problemas numa utilização subaquática:

− Retire imediatamente a câmara de vídeo para fora de água.

− Seque a câmara de vídeo.

− Mande reparar a câmara de vídeo por pessoal tecnicamente

qualificado de um serviço de assistência ou de manutenção.

Cabos

Pegue sempre nos cabos pela respectiva ficha e não puxe nunca pelo próprio

cabo eléctrico. Não pegue nunca no cabo eléctrico com as mãos molhadas,

pois isso pode provocar um choque eléctrico.

Não coloque nunca o dispositivo, peças de mobiliário ou outros objectos

pesados em cima dos cabos e certifique-se de que os cabos não ficam -

dobrados, em particular junto da ficha e das tomadas.

Não dê nunca nós num cabo e não o ate com outros cabos. Todos os cabos

devem ser instalados de modo a que ninguém tropece neles nem impeçam a

passagem. Um cabo eléctrico danificado pode provocar um incêndio ou um

choque eléctrico. Inspeccione o cabo eléctrico de tempos a tempos. Não

utilize nunca adaptadores ou extensões que não respeitem as normas de

segurança do seu país e não modifique também nenhum cabo eléctrico nem

a ficha.

Ecrã LCD

No caso de riscos ou de outros danos no ecrã, preste especial atenção a que

o líquido do ecrã LCD não saia.

Se tiver saído líquido, observe as seguintes recomendações:

• Se o líquido entrar em contacto com a pele, enxugue com um pano limpo

e lave depois com água abundante.

• Se o líquido entrar em contacto com os olhos, lave-os durante pelo menos

15 minutos, debaixo de água corrente e recorra depois, de imediato, ao

serviço de urgência de um hospital.

• Se o líquido for ingerido, lave primeiro a boca com água abundante; beba

depois uma grande quantidade de água e provoque o vómito. Recorra,

tão rapidamente quanto possível, ao serviço de urgência de um hospital.

Bateria PAC-0040, PAC ELECTRONICS CO., LTD.

• Utilize apenas baterias do tipo da que foi fornecida com a sua câmara de

vídeo. As baterias de um tipo diferente podem danificar a câmara de

vídeo e anular também a garantia.

• Certifique-se de que a bateria ficou correctamente colocada. Se a bateria

for instalada ao contrário, o produto pode danificar-se e provocar

eventualmente um incêndio.

• Remova a bateria, se a câmara não for utilizada por um período mais

longo, a fim de que não seja derramado líquido.

• Se a bateria estiver amolgada ou danificada, retire-a sem demora, dado

que daí podem resultar um derrame de líquido e consequentemente uma

dilatação anormal da bateria.

Carregador DJ04V20500A, SCOPE TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD.

• Ligue só o carregador a uma fonte de alimentação, se a tensão eléctrica

indicada na placa do modelo corresponder à tensão da tomada eléctrica

(ver a placa do modelo no lado inferior do carregador). Uma tensão

inadequada pode destruir o carregador e a bateria.

• Para desligar o carregador da rede eléctrica, é necessário desligar a ficha

da tomada eléctrica. O carregador deve estar, por isso, posicionado de

forma a permitir um acesso imediato e desimpedido à tomada eléctrica

para ser possível retirar rapidamente a ficha, em caso de emergência.

• Para evitar o risco de incêndio, a ficha deve ser sempre desligada da

tomada, se não houver uma bateria a ser carregada.

• Por razões de segurança, desligue também o carregador da tomada no

caso de uma ausência mais prolongada e de trovoada.

• Assegure sempre que

− existe livre circulação de ar no carregador (não coloque o carregador

em cima de uma carpete espessa ou de uma cama e deixe um espaço

livre de pelo menos 10 cm, em todas as direcções);

− é evitado o contacto com sprays, pingos ou salpicos e líquidos

corrosivos e que o carregador nunca é utilizado perto de água, em

especial, que não seja nunca mergulhado num líquido (não coloque

recipientes com líquidos, como jarras ou bebidas, perto do

carregador);

− o carregador não é submetido a grandes mudanças de temperatura,

pois isso pode causar humidade por condensação e provocar um

curto-circuito;

− o carregador não é submetido a pancadas e vibrações excessivas.

2.7 Limpeza

Desligue a câmara de vídeo de todos os dispositivos conectados,

antes de a limpar.

Em caso de sujidade, limpe a câmara de vídeo com um pano seco. Em caso

de sujidade mais persistente, use um pano ligeiramente humedecido. Não

utilize solventes nem detergentes corrosivos ou produtos gasosos. Não deve

entrar humidade no aparelho.

Não se esqueça de remover eventuais sujidades e areia do vedante à prova

de água e da superfície do lado oposto. As sujidades e a areia podem riscar o

material ou a superfície, reduzindo desse modo a impermeabilidade.

2.8 Reparação

É necessária uma reparação quando entra líquido no interior da caixa, a caixa

está danificada ou a câmara de vídeo não funciona.

Se observar a formação de fumo, ruídos ou odores estranhos, desligue

imediatamente a ficha da tomada eléctrica. O carregador não poderá, neste

caso, continuar a ser utilizado, antes de ser inspeccionado por um técnico.

Não abra a caixa. As reparações estão exclusivamente reservadas a pessoal

especializado, de assistência técnica ou de manutenção, devidamente

qualificado!

2.9 Eliminação de aparelhos velhos

Segundo a Directiva 2002/96/EC relativa aos resíduos de

equipamentos eléctricos e electrónicos (REEE), estes já não

podem ser eliminados juntamente com o lixo urbano. Na devida

altura, entregue este produto exclusivamente num ponto de

recolha de resíduos eléctricos e electrónicos da sua zona.

As baterias usadas não devem ser misturadas com os resíduos domésticos.

Deverá depositá-las dentro de um pilhão.

Com uma correcta eliminação, evitará o impacto ambiental e repercussões

negativas na própria saúde.

5 Colocação em funcionamento e configurações

Nesta rubrica são descritas as funções básicas, como ligar a câmara, colocar

a bateria e os cartões de memória, bem como a definição das configurações

básicas.

5.1 Passo 1: carregar a bateria

A bateria só pode ser carregada através do carregador que faz parte

do fornecimento ou de um carregador original de substituição. De

contrário, a bateria pode ser destruída e pode ser também provocado um

incêndio.

Nota: A bateria também é carregada, se a câmara de vídeo for ligada,

através da sua interface USB, a um computador operacional.

carregador e cerca de 240 minutos, se for utilizada uma ligação USB.

1. Coloque a bateria no carregador.

2. Ligue o carregador, por meio do cabo

eléctrico, a uma tomada de fácil acesso.

Durante o carregamento, o LED cor de laranja

acende-se no carregador. Quando a bateria

está totalmente carregada, acende-se o LED

verde.

O tempo do carregamento depende da

capacidade inicial da bateria e das condições

do carregamento.

5.2 Passo 2: Colocar o cartão SD e a bateria

A câmara de vídeo possui uma memória interna com uma capacidade de 128

MB. Uma parte dessa memória é ocupada pelo firmware da câmara de vídeo.

O cartão SD (2 GB) que faz parte do fornecimento serve para guardar

fotografias, vídeos ou outros ficheiros.

Observações:

O cartão SD que faz parte do fornecimento é formatado de fábrica. Se

pretender utilizar um cartão SD diferente, este precisa de ser formatado

(ver capítulo "5.3.3 Menus de configuração", rubrica "Formatar a

memória").

Através de um mecanismo de corrediça, o lado esquerdo do cartão SD

pode ser protegido contra escrita:

Corrediça em cima: cartão SD gravável; podem ser guardadas gravações

no cartão SD.

Corrediça em baixo: cartão SD protegido contra escrita; não podem ser

guardadas gravações no cartão SD.

A câmara de vídeo precisa de uma bateria de iões de lítio. Utilize

exclusivamente a bateria que foi fornecida ou uma bateria recomendada pelo

fabricante ou pelo seu vendedor.

1. Para abrir a cobertura do compartimento da

bateria, desloque o bloqueador para a frente.

2. Introduza o cartão SD, até ficar engatado.

Para retirar o cartão SD, carregue-o para

baixo, até desengatar e poder ser extraído.

Saltará para cima e pode ser então retirada.

4. Feche a cobertura do compartimento da

bateria, carregue-a com força sobre a caixa e

empurre o bloqueador para trás, até ouvir um

estalido.

Para assegurar a impermeabilidade à

água, certifique-se de que a cobertura do

compartimento da bateria está correctamente

fechada.

5.3 Passo 3: ligar a câmara de vídeo e realizar as

configurações básicas

Antes de utilizar a câmara de vídeo, deverá definir algumas configurações

básicas, como o acerto da data e da hora e a função do bipe (sinal acústico).

5.3.1 Ligar e desligar a câmara de vídeo

A câmara de vídeo é ligada assim que se abre o ecrã; desliga-se

automaticamente, quando se fecha o ecrã.

Enquanto o ecrã estiver aberto, pode-se ligar e desligar a câmara de vídeo

através do botão de ligar/desligar (P).

5.4 Passo 4: Instalar o software "TotalMedia™ HDCam"

O software TotalMedia™ HDCam da ArcSoft é um programa informático, que

combina a gestão dos suportes de dados e as funções de reprodução com

ferramentas para visualizar, ligar, imprimir e gravar.

O software encontra-se no CD que faz parte do fornecimento.

Terá de ligar a sua câmara de vídeo ao computador, antes de colocar o

CD na sua unidade de CD ou de DVD. De contrário, o software não

consegue encontrar a câmara de vídeo e não pode ser instalado.

Proceda do seguinte modo:

1. Ligue a câmara de vídeo ao computador com o cabo USB/AV que faz

parte do fornecimento.

2. Ligue a câmara de vídeo, abrindo o ecrã.

Após breves instantes é apresentada no monitor do computador a

mensagem "Novo hardware encontrado".

Caso a câmara de vídeo não tenha sido reconhecida, desligue a ficha

USB e insira-a novamente. Se necessário, utilize outra tomada USB do

computador.

3. Coloque o CD "TotalMediaHDCam" na unidade de CD/DVD.

Geralmente, o programa de instalação arranca automaticamente. Se tal

não acontecer, proceda da seguinte forma:

− Abra o explorador (de ficheiros) (clique com o botão direito do rato em

[Iniciar] → menu "Explorar").

− Na árvore de objectos, clique no ícone da unidade de CD ou DVD.

− Faça duplo clique sobre o ficheiro "TotalMediaHDCam.exe".

O software é em seguida automaticamente instalado e iniciado.

4. O idioma da interface do utilizador pode ser seleccionado através do

menu "Opções" (em cima, à direita, na janela do programa) e do comando

de menu "Predefinições" (comando de menu de cima).

Para mais informações sobre as funções do software, recorra à respectiva

ajuda online, a que pode aceder também através do menu "Opções".

6 Operação

6.1 Antes de começar

Antes de iniciar a gravação, faça algumas experiências.

Teste a capacidade funcional da câmara de vídeo, antes de uma recolha de

imagens num evento importante (p. ex. num casamento ou numa viagem ao

estrangeiro). O fabricante não se responsabiliza pelas perdas adicionais

imputáveis ao mau funcionamento deste produto (p. ex. custos de fotografias

ou perda de lucros, devidos a uma deficiente recolha de imagens). Estes

valores não serão reembolsados.

6.2 Informações sobre direitos de autor

Respeite as indicações de "Proibido fotografar" em certos locais. Não é

permitido nesse caso registar imagens de representações ao vivo,

improvisações ou exposições, mesmo para fins particulares. Todas as

transferências de imagens ou dados para suportes de dados têm de respeitar

as limitações decorrentes dos direitos de autor.

6.3 Gravar vídeos

Para gravar um vídeo, proceda do seguinte modo:

1. Abra o ecrã (C) para ligar a câmara de vídeo.

2. Para definir o modo vídeo, prima várias vezes o botão MODE (S), até ser

visualizada uma câmara de vídeo ( ) no canto superior esquerdo do

ecrã.

3. Para começar a gravar o vídeo, prima o botão de gravação (M).

− ampliar ou reduzir o motivo com os botões do zoom (D) (excepto nas

resoluções 1080P e QVGA e no modo macro).

− alterar o balanço de brancos (EB) com o botão de navegação

A partir do PC terá agora acesso à memória da câmara de vídeo – bem como

a qualquer outro suporte de dados amovível (pen USB, disco rígido externo,

etc.).

Através do programa "TotalMedia™ HDCam" pode gerir e editar as suas

fotografias. O programa está incluído no CD que faz parte do fornecimento

(ver o capítulo "5.6 Passo 4: instalar o software "TotalMedia™ HDCam").

6.8 Mergulhar com a câmara de vídeo

6.8.1 Modo mergulho

O modo mergulho tem em conta as condições subaquáticas e ajusta

automaticamente o balanço de brancos. As restantes definições mantêm-se

inalteradas.

Para activar o modo mergulho, prima o botão Modo mergulho (N).

6.8.2 Informações importantes

Impermeabilidade

• A câmara é impermeável à água até uma profundidade de 3 m (IPX8).

• A fim de preservar a impermeabilidade, só utilize a câmara debaixo de

água durante 60 minutos, no máximo.

• As características de impermeabilidade desta câmara reportam

exclusivamente à água doce e salgada; não se aplicam a substâncias de

limpeza, produtos químicos ou à água de piscinas, etc. Os líquidos deste

tipo têm de ser imediatamente removidos do dispositivo.

2 Safety instructions

2.1 General precautions

• Keep electrical devices out of the reach of children! Never allow chil-

dren to use electrical devices unsupervised. They cannot always recog-

nise possible hazards.

Small parts can be life-threatening if swallowed. Also note that there is

a risk of suffocation if air passages are blocked by the plastic packaging.

• New devices may emit a slight odour during the first few hours of opera-

tion. This is normal and disappears after a short time. Until then ventilate

the room regularly.

2.2 Intended use

The camcorder is an information technology device. It is used as intended if it

is solely used for recording and playback of movies or pictures. Any other use

is not in keeping with its intended purpose.

The camcorder may only be used for private purposes. It is not to be used for

The camcorder meets the basic requirements and other relevant regulations

of the EMC Directive 2004/108/EC as well as the Low Voltage Directive

Compliance with these standards is no longer guaranteed in the event of un-

authorised modification or changes to the device. The manufacturer does not

accept liability for any damage incurred as a result.

Only use accessories specified by the manufacturer.

2.4 Legal stipulations

ditions are given at the end of this manual. In case of warranty claims,

2.5 Operating environment/Environmental conditions

• The camcorder can be used at temperatures ranging from 0 °C to 40 °C

(32 °F to 104 °F).

• Protect the camcorder and its accessories against dust, heat and direct

sunlight. Prevent vibration, shocks and impact. Take special care never to

drop the camcorder, as it could be damaged.

• Never store the camcorder and its accessories in a hot place. High tem-

peratures can shorten the service life of electronic devices, damage the

batteries and deform or melt plastic components.

Watertightness

• The camera is watertight to a maximum depth of 3 metres (IPX8). Do not

use the camera underwater for longer than 60 minutes to ensure that it

remains watertight.

• The supplied accessories are not watertight. The camcorder is not dust-

tight.

• This camcorder is only watertight when immersed in fresh or salt water;

this does not apply to cleaning agents, chemicals or pool water etc., and

such liquids must be wiped from the device immediately.

• The watertight sealing material can be replaced (subject to charge). To

ensure effective watertightness, the sealing material should be replaced

annually.

• It is essential to read the safety information in the section "Diving with the

camcorder".

2.6 Operational safety

• Always read and observe the instructions and information in the documen-

tation supplied with your TV or computer before connecting the camcor-

der.

• If the camcorder is exposed to extreme temperature fluctuations, conden-

sation can lead to the accumulation of moisture which can cause a short

circuit. In this case wait until the device has reached ambient temperature

before use.

• Never place any burning objects such as candles or any objects contain-

ing liquids such as vases, cups or glasses next to the camcorder.

• Keep the camcorder away from high-frequency and magnetic interference

sources (e.g. TVs, mobile phones, loudspeakers) to prevent malfunctions.

• Never open the battery compartment while recording movies or photos, as

saved image data could be corrupted as a result.

• Should water accidentally penetrate the camcorder or problems occur dur-

ing underwater use:

− Remove the camcorder from the water immediately.

− Dry the camcorder.

− Have the camcorder repaired by qualified experts, service or mainte-

nance technicians.

Cables

Always hold cables by the plug and never pull on the cable itself. Never touch

the mains cable with wet hands as this may cause an electric shock.

Never place the device itself, furniture or other heavy objects on the cables

and ensure that the cables are not kinked, especially near the plugs and the

connection sockets.

Never make knots in any of the cables or tie them together with other cables.

All cables should be positioned so that nobody can trip over them and they

cannot cause an obstruction. A damaged mains cable can cause fire or an

electric shock. Inspect the mains cable from time to time. Do not use adapter

plugs or extension cables that do not comply with applicable safety standards,

and do not make any alterations to the mains cable or mains plug!

LCD screen

If the LCD screen becomes scratched or damaged in any way, take special

care to ensure that no liquid is discharged from the screen.

If liquid has escaped, follow the instructions below:

• If the liquid comes into contact with your skin, wipe it off with a clean cloth

and rinse the area of contact with large amounts of water.

• If the liquid comes into contact with your eyes, wash them with running

water for at least 15 minutes and then go to a hospital immediately.

• If you swallow the liquid, first rinse your mouth with water, then drink a

large amount of water and induce vomiting. Go to a hospital as soon as

possible.

Battery type PAC-0040, PAC ELECTRONICS CO., LTD.

• Only use the battery type which is supplied with your camcorder. Other

battery types could damage the camcorder and void the warranty.

• Ensure that the battery is inserted correctly. If the battery is inserted incor-

rectly, the product can be damaged and fire can break out.

• Remove the battery if you do not use the camera for a prolonged period of

time to prevent the discharge of fluid from the battery.

• Remove the battery immediately if it becomes crushed or damaged, as

this can result in discharge of the battery fluid and therefore abnormal ex-

pansion of the battery.

• Only connect the charger to the mains power supply if the voltage stated

on the rating plate complies with the voltage of your mains socket (the rat-

ing plate is attached to the underside of the charger). Incorrect voltage can

cause irreparable damage to the charger and the battery.

• To completely disconnect the charger from the mains power supply, al-

ways remove the mains plug from the mains socket. For this reason the

charger should be positioned so that direct and unobstructed access to the

mains socket is ensured and the mains plug can be immediately pulled out

in an emergency.

• To prevent the risk of fire, always disconnect the mains plug from the

mains socket if a battery is not being charged.

• For safety reasons disconnect the charger from the mains socket if you

are absent for a prolonged period of time and also if there is the risk of a

thunderstorm.

• Ensure that

− air can always circulate freely around the charger (do not place the

charger on a thick carpet or a bed, and always leave at least 10 cm

clearance on all sides).

− contact with sprayed and dripping water and corrosive liquids is pre-

vented and the charger is never operated near water; in particular it

should never be immersed (do not place any objects filled with liquids

such as vases or drinks on or near the charger).

− the charger is not subjected to any extreme temperature fluctuations,

as this may result in moisture caused by condensation and therefore a

short circuit.

− the charger is never subjected to excessive shocks and vibrations.

2.7 Cleaning

Disconnect the camcorder from all connected devices before cleaning

it.

If soiled, clean the camcorder with a dry cloth, and moisten the cloth slightly to

remove stubborn dirt. Do not use any solvents, corrosive or gaseous cleaning

agents. Ensure that no moisture penetrates the device.

Remember to remove dirt and sand from the watertight seal and the opposite

contact surface. Dirt and sand can scratch the surface and affect the water-

tightness.

2.8 Repair

The camcorder must be repaired if fluid has penetrated inside the housing, if

the housing is damaged or if the camcorder no longer works.

If smoke is produced, or there are any unusual sounds or odours, disconnect

the mains plug of the charger from the mains socket immediately. In these

cases use of the charger is not permitted until it has been inspected by a spe-

cialist technician.

Never open the housing. Any repairs should be carried out exclusively by

qualified specialist, service or maintenance personnel!

2.9 Disposal of old devices

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive

(WEEE) 2002/96/EC stipulates that it is no longer permitted to

dispose of old electrical and electronic devices as municipal

waste. Only dispose of this product at a collection point for old

devices in your area.

Defective batteries should not be disposed of with household waste. They

must be taken to a collection point for old batteries.

Proper disposal in this manner will prevent harm to the environment and hu-

man health hazards.

For further information about proper disposal contact your local authorities,

waste disposal office or the shop where you bought the device.

5 Start-up and configuration

This section describes the basic functions such as how to switch on the cam-

era, insert the battery and the memory cards and configure the basic settings.

5.1 Step 1: Charge the battery

The battery may only be charged with the supplied charger or with an

original replacement charger. In the event of non-compliance the battery

can be destroyed. This can cause a fire.

Note: The battery is also charged when the camcorder is connected to a

functioning computer by means of its USB interface.

The battery charging time is approx. 180 minutes when using the charger and

approx. 240 minutes when using a USB connection.

1. Place the battery in the charger.

2. Connect the charger to an easily accessible

mains socket with the mains cable.

The LED on the charger lights up orange

while the battery is charging. When the battery

is fully charged the LED lights up green.

The charging time depends on the output ca-

pacity of the battery and the charging condi-

tions.

5.2 Step 2: Insert the SD card and battery

The camcorder is equipped with an internal memory with a capacity of

128 MB. Part of this memory is occupied by the firmware of the camcorder.

The supplied SD card (2 GB) serves as a mass storage medium for photos,

videos or other files.

Please note:

The supplied SD card is already formatted. If you would like to use a differ-

ent SD card, it must be formatted (refer to Section "5.3.3 Configuration

menus", "Formatting the memory").

An SD card can be write-protected by means of a sliding mechanism on

the left-hand side of the card:

Sliding tab up: The SD card is not write-protected; recordings can be

saved on the SD card.

Sliding tab down: The SD card is write-protected; it is not possible to save

recordings on the SD card.

The camcorder requires a lithium ion rechargeable battery. Only use the sup-

plied battery or batteries which are recommended by the manufacturer or your

dealer.

1. To open the battery compartment push the

latch forwards.

2. Insert the SD card until it engages.

To remove the SD card press it down until it is

released and can be pulled out.

3. Push the battery in until it engages.

Unlock the battery to remove it. It is then

ejected and can be removed.

4. Close the cover of the battery compartment,

press the cover down firmly onto the housing

and push the latch backwards until you hear a

click.

To ensure the watertightness of the cam-

corder, always make sure that the cover of the

battery compartment is closed correctly.

5.3 Step 3: Switch on the camcorder and configure the basic

settings

Before using the camcorder it is necessary to configure several basic settings

such as the date and time as well as the language and the "beep function".

5.3.1 Switching the camcorder on and off

The camcorder is switched on as soon as the LCD monitor is opened; it

switches off automatically when the LCD monitor is closed.

The camcorder can be switched on and off with the on/off button (P) when the

LCD monitor is open.

When the beep is switched on, a melody is

played when the camcorder is switched on and

off and a beep sounds each time a button is

5.4 Step 4: Install the "TotalMedia™ HDCam" software

The TotalMedia™ HDCam software from ArcSoft is a computer programme

which combines media management, playback functions and tools for view-

ing, linking, printing and writing.

The software is provided on the supplied CD.

Always connect your camcorder to the PC before inserting the CD in your

CD or DVD drive. Otherwise the software cannot detect the camcorder and

it cannot be installed.

Proceed as follows:

1. Connect the camcorder to the PC with the supplied USB/AV cable.

2. Switch the camcorder on by opening the LCD monitor.

The following message then appears on your PC screen after a short time:

"Found new hardware".

If the camcorder is not detected, remove and reinsert the USB connector.

You can also try using a different USB socket on your PC.

3. Place the "TotalMediaHDCam" CD in your CD/DVD drive.

The installation wizard normally starts automatically. If it does not start

automatically, proceed as follows:

− Open the file browser (Explorer) (right-click on [Start] → "Explorer"

menu).

− Click the icon of your CD or DVD drive in My Computer.

− Start installation by double-clicking the "TotalMediaHDCam.exe" file.

The software is then automatically installed and started.

4. The language of the user interface is selected in the "Options" menu (at

the top right in the programme window) and the "Preferences" menu item

(top menu item).

Information on the software functions is given in the corresponding online

help which is also opened with the "Options" menu.

6.1 Before you start

Before you start recording properly, make some test recordings.

Check if your camcorder works properly before recording at important occa-

sions (for example a wedding or a trip abroad). Additional losses caused by a

malfunction of this product (for example photo costs or loss of profit resulting

from low photographic quality) are not the responsibility of the manufacturer

and will not be compensated.

6.2 Copyright information

Observe any "Photography prohibited" signs. Such signs mean that it is pro-

hibited to record any live performances, improvisations or exhibitions, even for

private use. Saving any images or data on storage media is subject to copy-

When recording videos proceed as follows:

1. To switch on the camcorder open the LCD monitor (C).

2. To select Video (Movie) Mode, press the MODE button (S) until a movie

camera ( ) appears at the top left of the screen.

3. Start the video recording by pressing the record button (M).

6.7 Uploading recordings to a PC

Proceed as follows:

1. Connect the camcorder to

the PC with the supplied

USB-AV cable.

2. Switch the camcorder on by

opening the LCD monitor.

The following message then appears on your PC screen after a short time:

"Found new hardware".

If the camcorder is not detected, remove and reinsert the USB connector. You

can also try using a different USB socket on your PC.

You can then access the camcorder memory from your PC in the same way

as any other removable storage medium (USB stick, external hard disk etc.)

You can manage and edit your recordings with the "TotalMedia™ HDCam"

programme. The programme is provided on the CD supplied with the device

(refer to Section "5.6 Step 4: Install the TotalMedia™ HDCam software").

6.8 Diving with the camcorder

6.8.1 Diving Mode

The Diving Mode takes underwater conditions into account and automatically

adjusts the white balance. All other settings remain unchanged.

To activate Diving Mode, press the Diving Mode button (N).

6.8.2 Important notes

Watertightness

• The camera is watertight to a maximum depth of 3 metres (IPX8).

• Do not use the camera underwater for longer than 60 minutes to ensure

that it remains watertight.

• This camera is only watertight when exposed to fresh water or salt water;

this does not apply to cleaning agents, chemicals or pool water etc., and

such liquids must be wiped off the device immediately.

Before opening the cover of the battery compartment (G) and the inter-

faces (O) it is essential to wait until the camera is completely dry. When

opening the covers, have an absorbent cloth to hand to remove water and

dirt from around the covers. Ensure that the cover faces downwards when

it is opened.

Before diving:

Only check the following points indoors:

• Check the area around the interfaces (battery/SD card and HDMI/USB

socket); remove dirt, sand and other particles.

• Ensure that the covers of the battery compartment (G) and the interfaces

(O) are not scratched or broken and that they are firmly closed.

• Also check that the camera is not cracked or broken.

During diving:

• Never expose the camcorder to ...

− a water depth of more than 3 metres.

− high water pressure.

− water at a temperature outside the range of 0° to 40 °C.

− any impact or shock; this could open the cover of the battery compart-

ment (G) and the interfaces (O).

• Never immerse the camera in water for longer than 60 minutes.

After diving:

Clean the camera immediately after using it underwater. Proceed as follows:

1. Ensure that the covers of the battery compartment (G) and the interfaces

(O) are not scratched or broken and that they are firmly closed. Also check

that the camera is not cracked or broken.

2. Wash the camcorder under running tap water.

3. Immerse the camcorder in fresh water (not salt water) for two to three min-

utes to remove any salt deposits.

4. Remove the camcorder from the water and shake it several times.

5. Wipe the camera and lens carefully with a clean cloth. Ensure that the

cloth is lint-free and that it does not contain any salt deposits.

6. When the camcorder is dry, clean the seals of the battery compartment

(G) and the interfaces (O) with a moistened cotton bud. Ensure that the

cover faces downwards when it is opened and cleaned.

7. Store the camcorder in a well-ventilated, cool place so that it can dry in the

air; avoid direct sunlight and unprotected areas.

6.9 Connecting the camcorder to a TV or computer

Always read and observe the instructions and information in the docu-

mentation supplied with your TV or computer before connecting the cam-

corder.

6.9.1 Connecting to a TV (AV cable)

You can connect the camcorder to a TV with the supplied USB/AV cable to

view photos and videos.
