DESCRIPTION OF SPECIAL FUNCTIONS

Toner save mode (page 1-21)
Reduces toner consumption by approximately 10%.
Power save modes (page 1-22)
The copier has two power save modes of operation:
preheat mode and auto power shut-off mode.
Preheat mode
When the copier enters the preheat mode, the power
save (
i
) indicator will light up and other indicators will
remain on or off as before. In this condition, the fuser
in the copier is maintained at a lower heat level, thereby
saving power. To copy from the preheat mode, make
desired copier selections and press the print (
) key
using the normal copying procedure.
Auto power shut-off mode
When the copier enters the auto power shut-off mode,
the power save (
i
) indicator will light up and other
indicators will go out. The auto power shut-off mode
saves more power than the preheat mode but requires
a longer time before starting copying. To copy from the
auto power shut-off mode, press the print (
) key.
Then make desired copier selections and press the
print (
) key using the normal copying procedure.
Auto clear (page 1-22)
The copier returns to the initial settings a preset amount
of time after the last copy is made. This preset amount
of time (auto clear time) can be changed.
Stream feeding mode (except for AL-1043) (page 1-20)

1-13.

Energiesparbetrieb (Seite 1-22)
Der Kopierer verfügt über zwei verschiedene Strom-
sparfunktionen: die Vorwärmphase und den automati-
schen Energiesparbetrieb.
Vorwärmphase
Wenn der Kopierer auf die Vorwärmphase schaltet,
leuchtet die Energiespar-Anzeige (
i
) auf, und alle
anderen Anzeigen bleiben wie zuvor entweder an oder
aus. In diesem Zustand wird die Temperatur des Fixie-
rers verringert und dadurch Energie gespart. Um aus
der Vorwärmphase eine Kopie zu erstellen, die ge-
wünschten Kopiereinstellungen vornehmen und die
Kopiertaste (
) drücken. Das normale Kopierverfah-
ren anwenden.
Automatischer Energiesparbetrieb
Wenn der Kopierer auf automatischen Energiesparbe-
trieb schaltet, leuchtet die Energiespar-Anzeige (
i
)
auf, und alle anderen Anzeigen erlöschen. Im automa-
tischen Energiesparbetrieb wird mehr Energie gespart
als in der Vorwärmphase, dorch wird auch etwas mehr
Zeit vor dem nächsten Kopiervorgang benötigt. Um
aus dem automatischen Energiesparbetrieb eine Ko-
pie zu erstellen, zunächst die Kopiertaste (
) drük-
ken. Anschließend die gewünschten Kopiereinstellun-
gen vornehmen und die Kopiertaste (
) drücken. Das
normale Kopierverfahren anwenden.
Automatische Rückstellfunktion (Seite 1-22)
Nach Ablauf einer voreingestellten Zeit nach dem
Erstellen der letzten Kopie kehrt der Kopierer zu den
anfänglichen Einstellungen zurück. Die voreingestell-
te Zeitdauer (automatische Rückstellzeit) kann verän-
dert werden.
