Caution: To prevent the glass from
cracking, do not ll the hot container with
cold water.
Because of the kettle’s high power usage,
it must not be operated with any type of
extension cable.
The appliance must be used only on a
heat-resistant, level surface.
Do not operate the appliance below a
hanging cupboard or similar object; there
is a risk that escaping steam may be
trapped underneath.
Do not allow the appliance or its power
cord to come into contact with open
ames or any hot surfaces such as hot-
plates.
Do not let the power cord hang free, and
keep the cord well away from hot parts of
the housing.
Always remove the plug from the wall
socket,
- in case of any malfunction,
- after use,
- during cleaning.
No responsibility is accepted if damage
results from improper use, or if these
instructions are not complied with.
Thermal safety cut-out
The pre-set thermal safety cut-out protects
the heating element from overheating should
the appliance be erroneously switched on
without any water, or if the heating plate is
calci ed. If the safety cut-out has switched off
the kettle, all indicator lights start ashing. In
such a case, the appliance must be allowed
to cool down, or must be descaled, before it is
switched on again.
Temperature selection buttons
The appropriate temperature for the type of
tea being used can be selected using the
temperature selection buttons.
Water temperatures for making tea
We recommend the following
temperatures:
Green tea : 70-80 ° C
White tea : 80 ° C
Oolong tea : 90 ° C
Black tea : 100 ° C
Herbal tea : 100 ° C
Note: Please also refer to the tea
manufacturer’s instructions.
During operation, the indicator lights on the
temperature selection buttons will ash until
the selected temperature has been reached.
They go out once the water container is
removed from its base. If the container is left
standing on the base, the indicator light will
go out after about 1 minute.
The appliance cannot be started if the
current temperature inside the container
exceeds the selected temperature.
Keeping-warm function
Using the ‘Keep-warm’ button ( ), the
water may be kept hot for up to 30 minutes.
Con rm the selection by pressing the On/
Off switch ( ). This function is cancelled
automatically if the container is removed
from the base for more than 1 minute.
This function cannot be used with a
temperature setting of 100 ° C.
Die indicator light on the ‘Keep-warm’ button
remains on as long as this function is active.
