When overheated, food may tend to

Start up
Before using the appliance for the rst time,
let it heat up for approximately 3 minutes
at maximum power (but without using a
pot or saucepan), while ensuring suf cient
ventilation. During this process, a slight
smell and a little smoke may be emitted.
This is normal and will only last for a very
short time. Ensure adequate ventilation by
opening windows or balcony doors.
Clean the appliance afterwards as described
in section General care and cleaning) below.
Operation
Always place a pot / saucepan on the
hot-plate before the appliance is switched
