General information before use
Scales on the water containers facilitate
lling them with the correct amount
of clean water. With a dual-scale, the
le scale is used for regular-sized cups

used for smaller cups. Make sure that the
indicated maximum is not exceeded.
e hot-plates remain hot until the
appliance has been switched o completely
(with both switches in their O -position).
If several consecutive brewing cycles are z
required, switch o the co ee maker a er
each cycle and let it cool down for approx.
5 minutes.
Important note: z When  lling the
appliance with fresh water shortly a er
a brewing cycle is completed, there is
a danger of scalding from hot water or
steam escaping through the water outlet.
Before using for the  rst time
Before making co ee for the  rst time, let the

Making co ee
Filling with water:
Open the water container lid,  ll the container
with the desired quantity of clean, cold water
(using the glass carafe) and close the lid.
Inserting the paper  lter:
Open the swing-out  lter holder and insert
a size-4 paper  lter, rst folding down the
perforated sides of the  lter.
Filling with ground co ee:
For each regular-sized cup (125ml), a measure
of about 6 g (= 1½ - 2 teaspoons) of medium
or  nely ground co ee will be required. For
smaller cups, about 4g = 1 - 1½ teaspoons
will be required. Close the swing-out holder
a erwards.
Preparing the glass carafe:
Make sure to t the lid onto the glass
carafe before placing it onto the hot-plate.
If correctly inserted, the lid will disable the
drip-stop mechanism in the swing-out  lter
during the brewing cycle.
Starting the brewing cycle:
Insert the plug into a suitable wall outlet and
use the appropriate On/O switch to turn on
the side of the co ee maker to be used.  e
ltration cycle starts.
Removing the freshly brewed co ee:
Wait until all the water has passed through
the  lter before removing the carafe from the
appliance.
Switching o the co ee maker:
e co ee may be kept warm inside the
carafe by leaving it standing on the hot-plate.

Compared with traditional tea-brewing, only
a reduced amount of tea leaves should be
used, as the yield of the leaves is higher when
using this appliance.

Preparing the carafe:
Make sure to t the lid onto the glass carafe
before placing it onto the hot-plate. Keep the
