If several consecutive brewing cycles are
required, switch off the coffee maker after
each cycle and let it cool down for approx.
5 minutes.
Important note: When lling the
appliance with fresh water shortly after
a brewing cycle is completed, there is
a danger of scalding from hot water or
steam escaping through the water outlet.
Before using for the rst time
Before making coffee for the rst time, let the
appliance go through two or three ltration
cycles without using ground coffee. This
should also be done if the appliance has not
been used for an extended period of time,
and after descaling.
Making coffee
Filling with water:
Open the water container lid, ll the
container with the desired quantity of clean,
cold water (using the glass jug) and close
the lid.
Inserting the paper lter:
Open the swing-out lter holder and insert
a size-4 paper lter, rst folding down the
perforated sides of the lter.
Filling with ground coffee:
For each regular-sized cup (125ml), a
measure of about 6 g (= 1½ - 2 teaspoons)
of medium or nely ground coffee will be
required. For smaller cups, about 4g = 1 -
1½ teaspoons will be required. Close the
swing-out holder afterwards.
Preparing the glass jug:
Make sure to t the lid onto the glass
jug before placing it onto the hot-plate. If
correctly inserted, the lid will disable the drip-
stop mechanism in the swing-out lter during
the brewing cycle.
Starting the brewing cycle:
Insert the plug into a suitable wall outlet and
use the appropriate On/Off button to turn on
the side of the coffee maker to be used. The
ltration cycle starts.
Removing the freshly brewed coffee:
Wait until all the water has passed through
the lter before removing the jug from the
appliance.
Switching off the coffee maker:
The coffee may be kept warm inside the jug
by leaving it standing on the hot-plate. The
plate is kept hot for around 35 minutes after
brewing is complete. However, it can also be
switched off earlier by pressing the On/Off
button again.
Disconnecting from the mains:
Remove the plug from the wall socket once
brewing/keeping-warm is complete.
Making tea
Filling with water:
Open the container lid and ll the container
with the desired quantity of clean, cold water.
Caution: Do not put in more than max. 7
cups of water. Close the lid.
Filling with tea leaves:
To load the tea lter, take off its top by
turning anti-clockwise, put in the required
amount of tea leaves and close again.
Compared with traditional tea-brewing, only
a reduced amount of tea leaves should be
used, as the yield of the leaves is higher
when using this appliance.
Inserting the tea lter:
Insert a tea
lter into the glass jug.
Preparing the jug:
Make sure to t the lid onto the glass jug
before placing it onto the hot-plate. Keep the
swing-out lter closed.
Starting the brewing cycle:
