Before using for the  rst time
Before making co ee for the  rst time, let

General information
A measuring scale on the glass carafe
facilitates  lling the container with the
correct amount of clean water.  e scale
shows the amount of co ee available a er
brewing.  e scale refers to normal-sized
cups with a capacity of about 125 ml.
Make sure that the indicated maximum
amount of water is not exceeded.
If several consecutive brewing cycles are z
required, switch o the co ee maker a er
each cycle and let it cool down for approx.
5 minutes.
Caution: When  lling the appliance with
fresh water shortly a er a brewing cycle is
completed, there is a danger of scalding
from hot water or steam escaping through
the water outlet.
Making co ee
Filling with water:
Grip the recess on the water reservoir and
li it out. Open the reservoir,  ll it with the
required amount of fresh cold water and close

You may also use the glass carafe to  ll the
water reservoir.
Inserting the paper  lter:
Pull out the  lter holder by its handle and
insert a size 4 paper  lter, rst folding down
its perforated sides.
Adding ground co ee:
We recommend using  nely ground  lter

medium-sized cup (125 ml). Take the  lter by
its handle and replace it into the appliance.
Preparing the carafe:
Fit the aroma protection lid on the carafe,
and then place the carafe into the appliance.
Only if correctly inserted will the lid disable
the drip-stop mechanism in the  lter holder
during the brewing cycle.
Starting the  ltering process:
Plug in the appliance and use the On/O
swi

cycle starts and the water passes through the

Note: While the water is passing through
the system, certain noises can be heard.
is is perfectly normal and no sign of any
malfunction.
Removing the carafe:
Wait until all the water has passed through
the  lter before the carafe is removed from
the appliance.
Switching the co ee maker o :
e co ee may be kept warm inside the
carafe by leaving it standing on the hot-plate.
e plate is kept warm until the appliance
is turned o using the On/O switch. A er
the appliance has been switched o , it takes
several more minutes for the hot-plate to cool
