Before using the appliance for
the first time
Before initial use, the appliance should be
thoroughly cleaned as described in the
section General care and cleaning. In
addition, let the appliance run through two
brewing cycles without inserting a pad.
Water container
Fill the water container as follows:
-
Open the hinged water container lid by
lifting from the side.
-
Fill to the maximum-level mark
(approx. 700 ml) with clean, cold water
(use fresh water each day).
-
Close the water container lid.
After extended periods of non-use, we
recommend that you let the appliance run
through at least two brewing cycles without
inserting a coffee pad; this will help to flush
and clean out the system.
Indicator light
Green indicator light
This shows that brewing is in progress. A
slow-flashing green light indicates that the
system is pre-heating before the actual
brewing cycle. A steady green light shows
that the brewing cycle has begun. Once the
cycle is complete, the green light starts
slow-flashing again, indicating that the
pressure is being reduced and any excess
water is being drained. Warning: wait for
the flashing to stop before pushing the ring
up.
Red indicator light
The red indicator light starts flashing if a
malfunction occurs. Deal with the problem
(see table below)or press the Start button
again.
