Iron
-
Starch, fat and other deposits on the
soleplate may be removed with a woollen
cloth soaked in a vinegar/water solution.
-
In order to protect the clean soleplate,
occasionally apply a small amount of
paraffin to the warm plate, wiping it off
with a woollen cloth.
● Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaning
solutions.
-
The steam outlet openings in the
soleplate are cleaned by repeatedly
pressing the steam jet button while
holding the iron over a sink or a suitable
container. Hot water and steam will be
emitted by the openings in the soleplate.
This will result in the removal of dust
particles from the soleplate.
Emptying water remaining in the reservoir
After use, any remaining water must be
removed from the reservoir.
● Allow sufficient time for the appliance to
cool down. If there is much water left in
the reservoir, cooling may take up to 60
minutes.
-
Start unscrewing the reservoir cap anti-
clockwise slowly and carefully. There
may be two signs that the appliance has
not yet sufficiently cooled down, in which
case there remains a severe danger of
scalding. These indications are:
- after a few turns of the cap, a large
amount of steam is suddenly emitted
through a vent in the reservoir cap
which opens as the cap is turned.
- hot steam comes out through the fill
opening.
Even if the pressure is released and the
water is then poured from the reservoir
before the appliance has completely
cooled down, there is still a danger of hot
water and steam being emitted, as the
residual heat of the reservoir may bring
the remaining water to the boil again
during the pouring process.
-
Exercise extreme caution when pouring
out the water.
Water reservoir (Descaling)
Depending on the water quality in your area
as well as the frequency of use, lime deposits
may build up on the heating element. It is
advisable to remove any such deposits from
the water reservoir at regular intervals. A
mixture of 0.5 litres of water to two
tablespoons of vinegar essence is suitable.
-
Carefully pour the descaling solution in.
-
For the descaling solution to take effect,
the steam generator should be left
standing for approximately one hour
with the reservoir filler hole open.
-
Pour out the descaling solution.
-
To clean the reservoir after descaling,
rinse repeatedly with clean water.
● Do not pour descalers down enamelled
sinks.
Storage
● Turn off the iron, remove the plug from
the wall socket and let the appliance cool
down completely.
● To avoid damage to the soleplate, store
the iron only on the iron rest on the
steam generator.

appliances in domestic garbage;
this should only be done through
