Antenne
Ein Gerät, das elektromagnetische Strahlung empfangen und senden kann. Dazu gehören
Parabol- und Breitbandantennen.
DiSEqC
DiSEqC (Digital Satellite Equipment Control) ist eine Kommunikationsschnittstelle
zwischen Satellitenempfangs- und Peripheriegeräten über das alleinig vorhandene
Koaxialkabel.
DVB
Die Digital Video Broadcast wurde gegründet, um die technischen Rahmenbedingungen
zur Einführung des Digitalfernsehens festzulegen.
LNB (Low-Noise Block Converter)
Ein elektronisches Gerät, das auf der Parabolantenne montiert wird. Es empfängt die von
der Antenne gebündelten Signale und wandelt sie in Signale um, die digitale
Satellitenempfänger verarbeiten können.
GHz
Der Präfix „Giga“ bedeutet Milliarden, Hertz steht für die Anzahl Schwingungen pro
Sekunde. Signale im GHz-Bereich werden aufgrund ihrer sehr kurzen Wellenlänge häufig
auch als Mikrowellensignale bezeichnet.
MHz
Der Präfix „Mega“ bedeutet Millionen, Hertz steht für die Anzahl Schwingungen pro
Sekunde.
