Opening and closing

To change the battery

SEAT recommends you ask a specialised

workshop to replace the battery.

The battery is located to the rear of the vehi-

cle key, under a cover.

Changing the battery

●Remove the emergency key ››› page 92 .

●Insert a flat blade screwdriver into the vehi-

cle key, through the outer guide of the emer-

gency key, approx. 1 cm in the direction of the

arrow ››› Fig. 76 1.

●Turn the screwdriver clockwise until the

cover opens ››› Fig. 76 2.

●Open the cover in the direction indicated

by the arrow ››› Fig. 76 3 and remove it ››› .

●Lever the battery out of its compartment

››› Fig. 77.

●Fit a new button battery into the compart-

ment ››› .

●Put on the cover and press it into the hous-

ing until it clicks into place.

●Stow the emergency key.

WARNING

Swallowing a battery with a 20 mm diame-

ter or any other button battery can cause

serious and even fatal injuries within a very

short time.

●Keep the vehicle key and key fobs with

batteries out of reach of children.

●If you suspect that someone may have

swallowed a battery, seek immediate med-

ical attention.

CAUTION

●If the battery is not changed correctly,

the vehicle key may be damaged.

●Use of unsuitable batteries may damage

the vehicle key. For this reason, always re-

place the dead battery with another of the

same voltage, size and specifications.

●When fitting the battery, check that the

polarity is correct.

For the sake of the environment

Please dispose of your used batteries cor-

rectly and with respect for the environ-

ment.

Synchronize the vehicle key

If the  button is pressed frequently outside

of the vehicle range, it is possible that the ve-

hicle can no longer be locked or unlocked us-

ing the key. In this case, the key must be re-

synchronised as described below:

●Unfold the vehicle key blade ››› page 91.

●If necessary, remove the cover from the

driver door lever ››› page 103.

●Press the  button on the vehicle key. For

this, it must remain with the vehicle.

●Open the vehicle within one minute using

the key blade. The key has been synchron-

ised. »
