Pyrolysis
FOR ALL OVENS, PLEASE REFER TO THE "OVEN MAINTENANCE" CHAPTER IN THE TECHNICAL HANDBOOK.
When the Pyrolysis function has been activated, the internal temperature of the oven reaches 500°C in order to
burn away food residues. Particles may ignite inside the oven when in contact with the heating elements and are
destroyed by pyrolysis: this process is caused by spontaneous combustion. Do not worry, this process is both
normal and hazard-free.
Useful tips before initiating the automatic cleaning process:
1- Try to remove large food residues and caked-on dirt with a damp sponge. Avoid using detergents or any other
special products recommended for oven cleaning.
2- Remove all the accessories from the oven, they are not designed to withstand extremely high temperatures.
In addition, accessories may affect the efficiency of the automatic cleaning cycle by obstructing heat circulation
along the internal walls of the oven. Accessories can be washed like everyday crockery (even in your dishwasher).
3- Do not place tea towels over the oven handle.
Warning: during the automatic cleaning cycle, surfaces may become very hot. Keep
children away from the appliance.
How to start the Pyrolysis
Shut the oven door.
Set the selector knob to V
To programme the fast Pyrolysis time and/or cycle end time, follow the instructions provided in the paragraph
entitled "Programming the Pyrolysis."
Safety devices
Given the high temperatures reached by the oven, it has been fitted with several safety devices:
To prevent burns, the door is locked automatically as soon as the temperature exceeds a certain value
Should a malfunction occur, as a precautionary measure, the heating elements are no longer electrically
powered.
The maximum time of operation is 120 minutes, after which the oven switches off automatically.
If the oven is too hot, pyrolysis may not start. Wait for the oven to cool down.
What happens at the end of the "Pyrolysis" function with instant start and default
time?
When the indicator light turns off, the "Pyrolysis" function has been completed.
You will have to wait until the temperature inside the oven has cooled down sufficiently before you can open the
oven door. When the indicator light turns off, the door is unlocked.
White powder deposits may remain on the bottom and sides of the oven, remove these deposits with a damp
sponge once the oven has cooled down completely.
Alternatively, you can make use of the already heated oven, in which case, it is not necessary to remove the
deposits, they are completely harmless and will not affect your food in any way.
What happens at the end of the "Pyrolysis" function with instant/delayed start and
with default time?
When the indicator light turns off and a buzzer sounds, the "Pyrolysis" function has been completed. To turn
off the buzzer, turn the knob anticlockwise until the symbol "O" is displayed.
