Sicherheitshinweise
1. Bedienungsanleitung lesen – Lesen Sie die Bedienungsanleitung aufmerksam, um
sich mit der Bedienung des Gerätes vertraut zu machen.
2. Bedienungsanleitung aufbewahren – Bewahren Sie die Bedienungsanleitung sorg-
fältig auf.
3. Hinweise beachten – Beachten Sie alle Hinweise und Anweisungen in der Bedienungs-
anleitung.
4. Wasser und Feuchtigkeit – Das Gerät darf nicht in der Nähe von Wasser (z. B. einer
Badewanne, einem Waschbecken, einem Schwimmbecken, etc.) oder an feuchten Or-
ten, bzw. in tropischem Klima verwendet werden. Stellen Sie keine mit Flüssigkeiten
befüllten Objekte oder Gefäße (z. B. Vasen) auf das Gerät. Setzen Sie das Gerät weder
Tropf- noch Spritzwasser aus.
5. Aufstellung – Das Gerät darf nur auf einer stabilen, ebenen Oberäche aufgestellt wer-
den. Platzieren Sie das Gerät so, dass es keinen Erschütterungen ausgesetzt werden
kann.
6. Wandmontage – Eine Wand- oder Deckenmontage darf nur dann erfolgen, wenn das
Gerät dafür vorgesehen ist.
7. Belüftung – Stellen Sie das Gerät immer so auf, dass die Lüftungsöffnungen nicht blok-
kiert oder verdeckt (z. B. von einem Vorhang, einer Decke, einer Zeitung, etc.) werden.
Das Gerät darf z. B. nicht auf einem Bett, Sofa, Teppich, etc. aufgestellt werden. Für
eine ausreichende Belüftung sollte ein Freiraum von mindestens 5 cm um das Gerät
herum eingehalten werden.
8. Hitze – Das Gerät darf nicht in die Nähe von Hitzequellen, wie z. B. einer Heizung,
einem Herd oder anderen Geräten gelangen.
9. Stromversorgung – Das Gerät darf nur mit der auf der Geräterückseite angegebenen
Spannung betrieben werden.
10. Kabel & Stecker – Das Netzkabel und der Netzstecker müssen immer in einwandfreiem
Zustand sein. Der Netzstecker muss jederzeit erreichbar sein, um das Gerät vom Netz
trennen zu können. Sämtliche Kabel sollten immer so ausgelegt werden, dass diese
keine Stolperfalle darstellen und nicht beschädigt werden können. Stellen Sie keine
Objekte auf Kabel. Wandsteckdosen, Verlängerungskabel und Mehrfachsteckerleisten
dürfen niemals überbelegt werden.
11. Reinigung – Reinigen Sie das Gerät ausschließlich mit einem trockenen, weichen und
sauberen Tuch. Verwenden Sie niemals chemische Reinigungsmittel. Ziehen Sie vor
dem Reinigen den Netzstecker.
12. Nichtverwendung – Wenn Sie das Gerät für längere Zeit nicht verwenden, ziehen Sie
den Netzstecker.
13. Eintritt von Objekten oder Flüssigkeiten – Es dürfen keine Objekte in das Gehäuse
des Gerätes gelangen. Das Gerät darf niemals in Kontakt mit irgendwelchen Flüssig-
keiten gelangen.
14. Wann Sie eine Servicestelle aufsuchen sollten – Ziehen Sie umgehend den Netz-
stecker und suchen Sie eine qualizierte Servicestelle auf, wenn einer der folgenden
Ereignisse eintritt:
a) Wenn der Netzstecker oder das Netzkabel beschädigt ist.
b) Wenn Objekte in das Gehäuse eingedrungen sind oder das Gerät in Kontakt mit
einer Flüssigkeit war.
c) Wenn das Gerät nicht ordnungsgemäß funktioniert. Nehmen Sie selbst nur sol-
che Einstellungen vor, die in dieser Bedienungsanleitung erklärt werden.
d) Wenn das Gerät heruntergefallen ist oder in sonstiger Weise einer Erschütterung
ausgesetzt war.
15. Reparaturen – Reparaturen und Wartungsarbeiten dürfen nur von qualiziertem Fach-

personal durchgeführt werden. Versuchen Sie niemals, das Gerät selbst zu reparieren.
Öffnen Sie niemals das Gehäuse.
16. Offenes Feuer – Halten Sie das Gerät fern von offenem Feuer. Stellen Sie keine bren-
nenden Kerzen oder ähnliches auf das Gerät.
17. Gewitter – Während eines Gewitters sollten Sie den Netzstecker ziehen.
18. Sicherheitscheck – Nach einer Reparatur sollte der durchführende Techniker einen
Sicherheitscheck des Gerätes vornehmen, um zu versichern, dass das Gerät einwand-
frei funktioniert.
19. Batterien – Setzen Sie Batterien immer richtig gepolt in elektrische Geräte ein. Explo-
sionsgefahr wenn Batterien falsch eingesetzt werden. Ersetzen Sie alte Batterien stets
mit neuen des gleichen Typs. Verwenden Sie alte und neue Batterien nie gleichzeitig.
Alte Batterien gehören nicht in den Hausmüll, sondern müssen separat in den dafür
vorgesehenen Behältern entsorgt werden. Batterien dürfen nicht übermäßiger Hitze, wie
z. B. durch Sonnenschein, Feuer o. ä. ausgesetzt werden.
20. Lautstärke – Um Hörschäden vorzubeugen, vermeiden Sie es, zu lange bei hohen
Lautstärken zu hören.
21. Kopfhörer – Eine zu hohe Lautstärke bei Verwendung von Ohr- oder Kopfhörern kann
zu Hörschäden führen.

1. Die Stromaufnahme des Gerätes beträgt DC 6V
0,5A.
2. Verbinden Sie den mitgelieferten Netzadapter mit dem Netzadapteranschluss am Gerät.
Verbinden Sie das andere Ende mit einer geeigneten Steckdose.

3. Versichern Sie sich, dass die Ausgangsleistung der Steckdose mit der vom Netzadapter
benötigten Spannung übereinstimmt.
Hinweis:
• Wenn Sie das Gerät längere Zeit nicht verwenden, ziehen Sie den Netzadapter aus der
Steckdose und aus dem Gerät.
Batteriebetrieb
Setzen Sie 4 Stk. 1,5V-Batterien der Größe UM-3/AA in das Batteriefach ein. Achten Sie darauf,
die Batterien richtig und wie am Batteriefach illustriert einzulegen, um Beschädigungen zu
vermeiden. Wenn Sie das Gerät längere Zeit nicht verwenden oder häug über das Stromnetz
betreiben, nehmen Sie die Batterien heraus.
Hinweise:
• Verwenden Sie keine unterschiedlichen Batterien.
• Wenn das Gerät mit Batterien betrieben wird, trennen Sie es zuvor vom Stromnetz.
Grundfunktionen
Ein- & Ausschalten des Gerätes
1. Versorgen Sie das Gerät mit Strom wie oben beschrieben.
2. Das Gerät bendet sich nun im Standby-Modus.
3. Schalten Sie das Gerät ein, indem Sie die Taste STANDBY drücken.
4. Um das Gerät in den Standby-Modus auszuschalten, drücken Sie erneut die Taste
STANDBY.
Display-Hintergrundbeleuchtung
Im Netzbetrieb ist die Hintergrundbeleuchtung des Displays bei eingeschaltetem Gerät immer
an. Im Standby-Modus wird die Hintergrundbeleuchtung gedimmt.
Im Batteriebetrieb wird die Hintergrundbeleuchtung bei jedem Tastendruck eingeschaltet und
dimmt sich nach ca. 10 Sekunden automatisch. Im Standby-Modus ist die Hintergrundbeleuch-
tung bei Batteriebetrieb komplett ausgeschaltet.
Modus-Auswahl (wählen zwischen DAB+ und FM)
• Drücken Sie bei eingeschaltetem Gerät die Taste MODE, um zwischen DAB+ und FM
hin- und herzuschalten.
Lautstärkeeinstellung
• Erhöhen Sie die Lautstärke, indem Sie die Taste VOLUME+ drücken.
• Verringern Sie die Lautstärke, indem Sie die Taste VOLUME- drücken.
Menüs
Mit den folgenden Tasten bewegen Sie sich durch das Menü:
• Halten Sie im DAB+ oder FM-Betrieb 2 Sekunden lang die Taste MENU/INFO gedrückt,
um das Hauptmenü zu öffnen.
• Drücken Sie die Taste SELECT, um Untermenüs zu öffnen oder Einstellungen zu
bestätigen.
• Um das Menü zu verlassen oder zum übergeordneten Menüpunkt zu gelangen, drücken
Sie wiederholt die Taste MENU/INFO.

Hinweis:
• Aktuelle Einstellungen oder Standardwerte sind im Menü durch ein Sternchen (*) an der
oberen Zeile rechts gekennzeichnet.
Uhrzeiteinstellung
Die Uhrzeit in diesem Radio synchronisiert sich automatisch über das DAB- oder RDS-Signal.
Wenn das Radio eingeschaltet und ein DAB-Sender empfangen wird, stellt sich die Uhrzeit
entsprechend automatisch ein. Dies kann bis zu 1 - 2 Minuten dauern.
Wenn in der Region weder DAB- noch FM-RDS-Empfang besteht, ist es notwendig, die Uhrzeit
manuell einzustellen.
Manuelle Einstellung der Uhrzeit:
1. Versorgen Sie das Gerät mit Strom wie oben beschrieben.
2. Die Display-Hintergrundbeleuchtung leuchtet kurz auf. Danach folgt ein kurzer Willkom-
menstext (Abb. F.1) gefolgt von der Anzeige „00:00:00 Time is not set”.
3. Schalten Sie das Gerät ein, indem Sie die Taste STANDBY drücken.
4. Halten Sie die Taste MENU/INFO 2 Sekunden lang gedrückt, um das Menü zu öffnen.

Wählen Sie anhand der Tasten TUN/CH▲ oder TUN/CH▼ den Menüpunkt „System“.
Wenn „System“ angezeigt wird, drücken Sie die Taste SELECT, um die Systemeinstel-
lungen zu öffnen.
5. In den Systemeinstellungen wählen Sie anhand der Tasten TUN/CH▲ oder TUN/CH▼
das Menü „Time“. Wenn „Time“ angezeigt wird, drücken Sie erneut SELECT, um das
Uhrzeitmenü zu öffnen. Wählen Sie hier den Menüpunkt „<Set Time /Date>” und drücken
Sie SELECT, um die Uhrzeit einzustellen.
6. Die Stunden blinken. Stellen Sie anhand der Tasten TUN/CH▲ oder TUN/CH▼ die
aktuelle Stunde ein und bestätigen Sie Ihre Einstellung, indem Sie die Taste SELECT
drücken.
7. Nun blinken die Minuten. Stellen Sie anhand der Tasten TUN/CH▲ oder TUN/CH▼ die
aktuelle Minute ein und bestätigen Sie Ihre Einstellung, indem Sie die Taste SELECT
drücken.
8. Im nächsten Schritt wird das Datum eingestellt. Stellen Sie anhand der Tasten TUN/CH▲
oder TUN/CH▼ Tag, Monat und Jahr ein. Bestätigen Sie jede Einstellung mit SELECT.
9. Nachdem das Jahr eingestellt und mit der Taste SELECT bestätigt wurde, wird „Time
Saved” im Display angezeigt und die Uhrzeit ist gespeichert.
10. Sie können das Menü nun verlassen, indem Sie wiederholt die Taste MENU/INFO
drücken oder das Gerät in den Standby-Modus schalten, indem Sie die Taste STANDBY
drücken.
DAB+ Radio
Erste Inbetriebnahme und Funktionen
• Drücken Sie die Taste STANDBY, um das Gerät einzuschalten. Beim ersten Einschalten
bendet sich das Radio automatisch im DAB+-Modus und führt einen Sendersuchlauf
durch.
• Während des Sendersuchlaufs wird „Scanning...“ zusammen mit einem Fortschrittsbal-
ken und der Anzahl bisher gefundener Sender angezeigt (Abb. F.1, F.2).
• Wenn der Sendersuchlauf abgeschlossen ist, wird der alphanumerisch zuerst gefundene
Sender gespielt.
• Anhand der Tasten TUN/CH▲ und TUN/CH▼ können Sie die gefundenen Sender durch-
suchen. Um einen beliebigen Sender wiederzugeben, drücken Sie die Taste SELECT
wenn der Sendername angezeigt wird.
Hinweis:
• Wenn während des Sendersuchlaufs keine Sender gefunden wurden, öffnet sich das
Sendersuchmenü. Hier können Sie einen automatischen oder manuellen Sendersuchlauf
durchführen.
DAB Auto Scan
Der automatische Sendersuchlauf sucht das DAB Band III ab. Wenn der Sendersuchlauf abge-
schlossen ist, wird der alphanumerisch zuerst gefundene Sender gespielt.
1. Um einen automatischen Sendersuchlauf durchzuführen, öffnen Sie zunächst das

Hauptmenü, indem Sie im Betrieb 2 Sekunden
lang die Taste MENU/INFO gedrückt halten.
Wählen Sie dann anhand der Tasten TUN/
CH▲ oder TUN/CH▼ den Menüpunkt „Full
scan” und drücken Sie dann SELECT, um
den Sendersuchlauf zu beginnen. Im Display
werden „Scanning…” und ein Fortschrittsbalken
angezeigt (Abb. F.3).
2. Alle gefundenen Sender werden automatisch gespeichert. Anhand der Tasten TUN/CH▲
und TUN/CH▼ können Sie die gefundenen Sender durchsuchen. Um einen beliebi-
gen Sender wiederzugeben, drücken Sie die Taste SELECT wenn der Sendername
angezeigt wird.
DAB Manuelle Sendersuche
1. Um manuell nach Sendern zu suchen, öffnen Sie zunächst das Menü, indem Sie im Be-
trieb die Taste MENU/INFO 2 Sekunden lang gedrückt halten. Wählen Sie dann anhand
der Tasten TUN/CH▲ oder TUN/CH▼ den Menüpunkt „Manual tune” (Abb. F.4, F.5) und
drücken Sie SELECT, um das Menü zu öffnen.
2. Anhand der Tasten TUN/CH▲ und TUN/CH▼ können Sie zwischen den einzelnen Kanä-
len von 5A bis 13F und den zugehörigen Frequenzen auswählen.
3. Um eine Frequenz auszuwählen, drücken Sie die Taste SELECT. Im Display wird der
Sendername (Ensemble/Multiplex) angezeigt.
Nicht verfügbare Sender entfernen („Prune“)
Nicht verfügbare Sender können aus der Liste entfernt werden:
1. Öffnen Sie zunächst das Menü, indem Sie im Betrieb die Taste MENU/INFO 2 Sekunden
lang gedrückt halten. Wählen Sie dann anhand der Tasten TUN/CH▲ oder TUN/CH▼
den Menüpunkt „Prune” und drücken Sie SELECT, um das Menü zu öffnen.
2. Wählen Sie anhand der Tasten TUN/CH▲ oder TUN/CH▼ die Option <Yes>, um nicht
verfügbare Sender zu löschen oder <No>, um abzubrechen. Bestätigen Sie Ihre Auswahl
mit SELECT.
DAB-Display-Modi
Wenn Sie im DAB-Betrieb die Taste MENU/INFO wiederholt drücken, zeigt das Display die
folgenden Informationen nacheinander an:
Signalstärke, Programmtyp, Ensemblename, Kanalnummer/Frequenz, Signalfehler, Bitrate,
Codec/DAB-Variante, Betriebsart (Netzbetrieb/Batterie), Zeit und Datum.
FM-Radio
1. Drücken Sie die Taste STANDBY, um das Gerät einzuschalten.
2. Drücken Sie die Taste MODE, um in den FM-Modus zu schalten. Im Display wird die
Frequenz angezeigt.
3. Um automatisch nach dem nächsten verfügbaren Radiosender zu suchen, halten Sie

die Taste TUN/CH▲ oder TUN/CH▼ 2 Sekunden lang gedrückt. Im Display wird „Scan-
ning...” angezeigt und der nächste gefundene Sender wird gespielt (Abb. F.6, F7).
4. Um manuell nach einem Sender zu suchen, drücken Sie wiederholt die Taste TUN/CH▲
oder TUN/CH▼. Jeder Tastendruck ändert die Frequenz um 0,05 MHz.
Hinweis:
• Für einen optimalen Empfang ziehen Se die Antenne vollständig aus und justieren Sie
deren Position oder versuchen Sie, das Radio an einem anderen Ort aufzustellen.
Sucheinstellung (Scan Setting)
Diese Funktion ermöglicht es, nur nach Sendern mit starkem Signal oder nach allen Sendern
zu suchen.
1. Halten Sie im FM-Modus 2 Sekunden lang die Taste MENU/INFO gedrückt, um das
Menü zu öffnen und wählen Sie dann anhand der Tasten TUN/CH▲ oder TUN/CH▼ die
Option „Scan setting”. Drücken Sie SELECT, um das Untermenü zu öffnen.
2. Wählen Sie anhand der Tasten TUN/CH▲ oder TUN/CH▼ die Option „Strong stations”
und drücken Sie SELECT, um die Einstellung zu speichern. Es werden nun bei der
automatischen Sendersuche nur Radiosender mit starkem Signal gefunden.
Um nach allen Sendern zu suchen, wählen Sie die Option „All stations”.
Audioeinstellung (Audio Setting)
1. Halten Sie im FM-Modus 2 Sekunden lang die Taste MENU/INFO gedrückt, um das
Menü zu öffnen und wählen Sie dann anhand der Tasten TUN/CH▲ oder TUN/CH▼ die
Option „Audio setting”. Drücken Sie SELECT, um das Untermenü zu öffnen.
2. Wählen Sie anhand der Tasten TUN/CH▲ oder TUN/CH▼ zwischen den Optionen „Ste-
reo allowed” und “Forced mono”. Drücken Sie SELECT, um Ihre Auswahl zu bestätigen.
Hinweis:
• Das Radio schaltet automatisch zwischen Stereo- und Monomodus. Bei schlechtem
Empfang können Sie dies deaktivieren, indem Sie „Forced mono“ auswählen.
FM-Display-Modi
Wenn Sie im DAB-Betrieb die Taste MENU/INFO wiederholt drücken, zeigt das Display die
folgenden Informationen nacheinander an:
RDS Radio-Text, Programmtyp, Frequenz, Mono/Stereo, Betriebsart (Netzbetrieb/Batterie), Zeit
und Datum.
Sender speichern und aufrufen
Dieses Gerät verfügt über 20 Senderspeicherplätze auf denen je 10 DAB- und 10 FM-Sender
gespeichert werden können.
1. Wählen Sie zunächst den gewünschten Sender und halten Sie dann die Taste PRESET
2 Sekunden lang gedrückt. Im Display wird die Speicherplatznummer angezeigt (Abb.
F.8).

2. Wählen Sie anhand der Tasten TUN/CH▲ oder TUN/CH▼ den gewünschten Speicher-
platz.
3. Drücken Sie dann SELECT, um den Sender zu speichern. Der aktuelle Sender wurde
auf dem gewählten Speicherplatz gespeichert (Abb. F.9).
4. Um einen gespeicherten Sender zu wählen,
drücken Sie einmal die Taste PRESET und
wählen Sie dann anhand der Tasten TUN/CH▲
oder TUN/CH▼ den Speicherplatz, auf welchem
sich der gewünschte Sender bendet. Drücken
Sie dann SELECT, um den Sender zu spielen.
Der Sendername oder die Frequenz sowie die
Speicherplatznummer werden im Display angezeigt (Abb. F.10). Wenn der gewählte
Speicherplatz nicht belegt ist, wird „Preset Recall #: (Empty)“ und dann „Preset empty”
angezeigt.
Hinweis:
• Wenn das Gerät vom Stromnetz getrennt wird, bzw. die Batterien entnommen werden,
wird der Senderspeicher gelöscht.
Auf Werkseinstellungen zurücksetzen (Reset)
Wenn Sie das Radio an einem anderen Ort verwenden, sind einige zuvor gefundene oder ge-
speicherte Sender ggf. nicht mehr verfügbar. In diesem Fall ist es ratsam, das Gerät auf seine
Werkseinstellungen zurückzusetzen.
1. Betreiben Sie das Gerät mit dem Netzadapter und drücken Sie STANDBY, um das Gerät
einzuschalten.
2. Halten Sie die Taste MENU/INFO 2 Sekunden lang gedrückt, um das Menü zu öffnen,
wählen Sie dann anhand der Tasten TUN/CH▲ oder TUN/CH▼ den Menüpunkt „Sys-
tem” und drücken Sie SELECT, um das Untermenü zu öffnen.
3. Wählen Sie anhand der Tasten TUN/CH▲ oder TUN/CH▼ die Option „<Factory Reset>”
und drücken dann SELECT, um das Untermenü zu öffnen (Abb. F.11)
4. Im Display wird nun „Factory Reset <No> Yes” angezeigt. Wählen Sie anhand der
Tasten TUN/CH▲ oder TUN/CH▼ die Option „<Yes>” und drücken dann SELECT, um
den Reset durchzuführen (Abb. F.12).

Power Supply
Power Adaptor
1. The unit requires DC 6V
0.5A.
2. Plug the supplied adaptor cable into the DC input socket of the unit and the other end
into a suitable wall socket.
3. Make sure that the output power of the wall outlet matches the required power of the

Note:
• If not using the unit for a longer period of time, unplug the adaptor from the wall outlet
and from the unit.
Battery Power
1. Ensure that the AC/DC adaptor is disconnected from the radio and the mains power sup-
ply.
2. Insert 4x 1.5V size UM-3/AA batteries into the battery compartment. Be sure that the bat-
teries are inserted correctly to avoid damage to the appliance. Always remove the batteries
when the appliance will not be used for a long period of time, as this will cause leakage to
the batteries and subsequently damage to your set.
Note:
• Use batteries of the same type. Never use different types of batteries together.
• To use the appliance with batteries, disconnect the power adaptor from it.
Basic Functions
Switching the Unit On & Off
1. Power the unit as described above.
2. The unit is now in standby mode.
3. To switch the unit on, press the STANDBY button once.
4. To switch the unit off into standby mode, press the STANDBY button again.
Display Backlight
When the radio is in AC mode, the display backlight will be at full brightness all the time when
the unit is switched on and dimmed when the unit is in standby mode.
When the radio is in DC battery operation, the display backlight will be turned on to full bright-
ness for around 10 seconds and then go to dim. It will then be turned on to full brightness again
for 10 seconds on every key press. In standby mode, the radio and display backlight will be
turned off.
Mode Selection (Switching Between DAB+ and FM)
• With the unit switched on, press the MODE button to switch between DAB+ and FM
mode.
Volume Control
• To increase the volume, press the VOLUME+ button.
• To decrease the volume, press the VOLUME- button.
Menus
The following controls are used to navigate the menu tree to choose and select the required
settings:
• Press and hold for 2 seconds the MENU/INFO button while the unit is in DAB+ or FM
mode to enter the main menu.
• Press the SELECT button to enter sub-menus or items and to conrm settings.
• To exit the menu or go back inside the menu, repeatedly press the MENU/INFO button.
Note:
• Current or default values are indicated by an asterisk (*) on the right-hand side of the top

line of the character display.
Clock Setting
The clock in this radio is equipped to receive a DAB radio frequency and RDS time signal. After
the unit has been turned on, it will automatically tune into a DAB radio station (see below) and
update the clock. It may be necessary to wait for 1-2 minutes to allow the unit to receive the
time signal. If there is no DAB or FM-RDS reception it will be necessary to manually set the
clock.
To manually set the clock:
1. Power the unit as described above.
2. The display backlight will illuminate for a few seconds, a welcome message (F.1) will
appear in the display briey followed by “00:00:00 Time is not set”.
3. Switch the unit on by pressing the STANDBY button.
4. Press and hold for 2 seconds the MENU/INFO button to enter the menu. Select “System”
by pressing the TUN/CH▲ or TUN/CH▼ button. Once “System” is displayed, press the
SELECT button to enter the system settings.
5. In the system settings select “Time” by pressing the TUN/CH▲ or TUN/CH▼ button.

Once “Time” is displayed, press the SELECT button to enter the time menu and select
“<Set Time /Date>”. Press the SELECT button again to enter the time setting.
6. The hours are ashing. Set the current hour by pressing the TUN/CH▲ or TUN/CH▼
button. Conrm by pressing the SELECT button.
7. The minutes are ashing. Set the current minute by pressing the TUN/CH▲ or TUN/
CH▼ button. Conrm by pressing the SELECT button.
8. In the next step the date must be set. Set day, month and year by pressing the TUN/
CH▲ or TUN/CH▼ button. Conrm each setting by pressing the SELECT button.
9. Once the year has been set and conrmed by pressing the SELECT button, “Time
Saved” will be shown in the display.
10. You can now exit the menu by repeatedly pressing the MENU/INFO button or switching
the unit into standby mode by pressing the STANDBY button.
DAB+ Radio
First Use and Operation
• Press the STANDBY button to turn the radio on. When switching the radio on for the rst
time it will automatically enter DAB+ mode and perform the auto scan function to search
for available radio stations.
• During the scan the display shows “Scanning...” together with a slide bar that indicates
the progress of the scan and the number of stations that have been found so far (F.1,
F.2).
• Once the scan is nished the radio will select and play the rst alphanumerically found
station.
• You can now press the TUN/CH▲ or TUN/CH▼ button to explore the found stations
followed by pressing the SELECT button to play the selected station.
Note:
• If there are no stations found after auto scan, the radio will enter the Tune/Select menu.
In this menu you can chose to do full scan or manual tuning.
DAB Auto Scan
The auto scan will search for the entire DAB Band III channels. After the scan has nnished, the
rst alphanumerically found stations will be automatically selected.
1. To activate auto scan, press and hold the
MENU/INFO button for 2 seconds to enter the
menu and then press the TUN/CH▲ or TUN/
CH▼ button to select “Full scan”. Finally press
the SELECT button to conrm. The display will
show “Scanning…” and a slide bar (F.3).
2. All stations that have been found will be stored
automatically. To explore the stations that have been found, press the TUN/CH▲ or
TUN/CH▼ button and when you nd a station that you would like to listen to, press the
SELECT button.

DAB Manual Tuning
1. To select manual tune, press and hold the MENU/INFO button for 2 seconds to enter the
menu, then press the TUN/CH▲ or TUN/CH▼ button to select “Manual tune” (F.4, F.5).
2. Press TUN/CH▲ or TUN/CH▼ button to move through the DAB channels, the display
will show “5A to 13F” and their associated frequencies.
3. When your desired frequency appears in the display, press the SELECT button to listen,
the name of the station group (ensemble/multiplex) will be displayed.
Prune
You can remove all unavailable stations from the list:
1. In DAB mode press and hold the MENU/INFO button for 2 seconds to enter the menu,
then press the TUN/CH▲ or TUN/CH▼ button to select “Prune” and nally press the
SELECT button to conrm.
2. Press the TUN/CH▲ or TUN/CH▼ button to select <Yes> to conrm to delete. Or select
<No> to cancel. Press the SELECT button to conrm the setting.
DAB Display Modes
Every time you press the MENU/INFO button the display will cycle through the following display
modes:
Signal strength, Programme Type, Ensemble Name, Channel number/frequency, Signal error,
Bit Rate, codec/DAB variant, power status (Mains/Battery), Time and Date.
FM Radio
1. Press the STANDBY button to switch on the radio.
2. Press the MODE button to switch to FM mode. The display will show the frequency.
3. To automatically search for the next available radio station, press and hold for 2 seconds
the TUN/CH▲ or TUN/CH▼ button. The display will show “Scanning...” and it will stop
automatically once a station has been found (F.6, F7).
4. To manually search for a station, press the TUN/CH▲ or TUN/CH▼ button repeatedly.
Each press adjusts the frequency by 0.05 MHz.
Note:
• To improve the reception, fully extend the antenna and adjust its position, or try moving
the radio to another location.

Scan Setting
This function enables you to search only for stations with strong reception or for all stations
during automatic tuning.
1. During FM mode, press and hold the MENU/INFO button for 2 seconds to enter the
menu and then press the TUN/CH▲ or TUN/CH▼ button to select “Scan setting”. Finally
press the SELECT button to conrm.
2. Press the TUN/CH▲ or TUN/CH▼ button to select “Strong stations”. Press the SELECT
button to conrm the setting. With this setting active, only strong stations will be found
during automatic tuning.
To nd all stations, also those with inferior reception, select “All stations”.
Audio Setting
1. During FM mode, press and hold the MENU/INFO button for 2 seconds to enter the
menu and then press the TUN/CH▲ or TUN/CH▼ button to select “Audio setting”. Finally
press the SELECT button to conrm.
2. Press the TUN/CH▲ or TUN/CH▼ button to select between “Stereo allowed” and
“Forced mono”. Press the SELECT button to conrm the setting.
Note:
• The radio will automatically switch between stereo and mono mode, but you can override
this and switch this function manually which is helpful for poor signal reception.
FM Display Modes
Every time you press the MENU/INFO button, the display will cycle through the following display
modes:
RDS Radio Text, Programme Type, Frequency, Mono/Stereo, Power status (Mains/Battery),
Time and Date.
Storing and Recalling Stored Stations
This function allows up to 10 stations to be programmed into the memory and stored in both
DAB and FM mode.
1. To store a preset, rst tune to your desired station, then press and hold the PRESET but-
ton for 2 seconds. The display will show the preset store number (F.8).
2. Press the TUN/CH▲ or TUN/CH▼ button to select your desired station preset number.
3. Press the SELECT button to conrm your selection. The station currently broadcasting
has now been stored in the selected location (F.9).
4. To select a preset station, rst press the
PRESET button once and then press the TUN/
CH▲ or TUN/CH▼ button to scroll up or down
the presets that you have stored, and press the
SELECT button to conrm. The station name
or frequency and preset location number will

be displayed in the lower half of the display (F.10). If the preset has not been allocated
“Preset Recall #: (Empty)” and then “Preset empty” will be shown in the display.
Note:
• If the unit is disconnected from the mains supply for any length of time and the batteries
are not installed, the programmed stations will be lost.
Factory Reset
If moving the radio to another location in the country the pre-tuned and stored DAB stations may
no longer be available and it will be necessary to reset the radio back to the factory settings.
1. Connect the radio to AC mains (via AC/DC adaptor), then press STANDBY to turn the
radio on.
2. Press and hold the MENU/INFO button for 2 seconds to enter the menu, then press the
TUN/CH▲ or TUN/CH▼ button to select “System”. Press the SELECT button to enter
the system menu.
3. Press the TUN/CH▲ or TUN/CH▼ button to select “<Factory Reset>”. Press the SE-
LECT button to conrm (F.11)
4. The display now shows “Factory Reset <No> Yes”. Press the TUN/CH▲ or TUN/CH▼
button to select “<Yes>” and then press the SELECT button again (F.12) to do the factory
reset.
5. The radio will display “Restarting….” and will then go into standby mode.
Note:
• All stored programmed stations will be lost during reset.
Headphone Jack
A headphone jack is located at right side of the unit. When the unit is powered on and playing
music, you can connect earphones (not included) to the headphone jack for your private listen-
ing. Mind the safety information from page 14 on.
With headphones connected the unit’s speaker is disabled. To listen via the speaker again,
disconnect the headphones.
