TEMPERATURE COOKING
Using the temperature probe, Temperature Cooking allows you to heat food to
a specific temperature set by you. This is ideal for cooking large, dense food
such as roast or whole chicken to optimum results. When the food reaches the
temperature you have set, cooking stops automatically. During Temperature
Cooking, the oven automatically sets to Turntable Off mode.
Example:
To cook a roast beef to medium (150ºF), set power level to 50.
Insert the pointed end of the probe into the roast. Plug the other end into the
socket located on the right inside wall of the oven.
When the internal temperature of the food reaches 150ºF, the oven stops and
switches into Hold Warm setting. Take the food out of the oven as soon as the
display shows HOLD. Remove the probe. Let the meat stand covered with foil
for about 10 minutes before serving. The temperature will rise about 15ºF
during standing time.
Pause Reminder
About halfway through the temperature cooking process, 5 beeps sound to
remind you to turn the food. If necessary, remove the probe from the meat,
turn the dish and the reinsert the probe. If you do not open the door at the
reminder, the oven continues to complete cooking. The Pause prompt scrolls
across the display.
Note:
Temperature can be set from 90ºF to 200ºF.
If you enter a temperature higher than 200ºF or lower than 90ºF, a beep
sounds. Re-enter a temperature within the range.
The display shows the internal food temperature as soon as it reaches
90ºF.
To check the set temperature during cooking, press
TEMP COOK/ROAST
.
The display shows the set temperature.
After Temperature Cooking is over, the oven switches into Hold Warm for
up to 60 minutes, or until the door is opened, or you press
STOP/CLEAR
.
The temperature probe should be inserted horizontally. Do not insert the
probe from the top.
If the temperature probe is not plugged in when you press
TEMP COOK/
ROAST
then
START
,
the display shows SET PROBE. Press
STOP/CLEAR
to
remove the message, and plug the probe into the socket.
If you start cooking other than temperature cooking when the
temperature probe is plugged in, REMOVE PROBE scrolls across the
display. Remove the probe when this message appears.
If no power level is entered, the oven automatically sets to P100 (100%).
