7.2. Over de meettechniek van het apparaat
Deze bloeddrukmeter bevat technisch hoogwaardige componenten en ma-
terialen om de druk te meten, de signalen te verwerken en de waarden op
een lcd-scherm weer te geven. Bovendien wordt ook de hartslag gemeten en
weergegeven.
Het apparaat meet de bloeddruk met behulp van een om de arm gelegd man-
chet waarbij de ader door het oppompen van de manchet zo wordt samenge-
drukt dat er geen bloed meer kan stromen. Als vervolgens de druk in de man-
chet wordt verlaagd, wordt een verband tussen manchetdruk en bloeddruk
gelegd.
Het apparaat is voorzien van elektronische stapventielen die zelfs geringe
schommelingen tijdens de meting vaststellen en deze met behulp van de
manchetdruk compenseren.
Door de stapsgewijze verlaging van de druk worden schommelingen in de
manchet door het apparaat vastgesteld en bij de beoordeling meegenomen.
Wanneer er bij een stap geen schommelingen worden vastgesteld, wordt de
luchtdruk verlaagd. Bestaande schommelingen worden geëvalueerd aan de
hand van de betreffende stap, totdat de nauwkeurigheid ervan is vastgesteld.
